Fantastische Erfahrung: The Witte museum is always a delight. We have the family annual pass and go 6-7 times a year. The shark exhibit and the space exhibit they have right now are really interesting. There is always something fun for the kids to do in the HEBUDDY area and we always have to make a visit to the treehouse.

Fantastische Erfahrung: I walked in not knowing exactly what to expect and left surprised and satisfied with the visit. And let me expand that by saying I also had my wife and two kids under 10 in tow (3 & 7). We all LOVED it! The permanent exhibits were pretty good (both kids loved the dinos), but the current special space exhibit was definitely worth the extra admission cost. The health exhibit seemed unique, but several of the interactive kiosks were not functioning. Luckily, that was at the tail end of our visit, and we were just killing a few more minutes before it closed. I know there are some complaints about the price, and I can understand that. We didn't pay full price due to a discount we have with another museum, but there are other ways to get a cheaper ticket. I'm not sure it would have been worth the price of full admission, but there's also not many attractions cheaper than this in the SA area.

Fantastische Erfahrung: A great museum for the family. Excellent dinosaur exhibit, as well as several Texas and locally themed exhibits. We paid extra for the space exhibit and had a lot of fun there. Not huge, but you'll spend a couple hours there to cover everything.

Fantastische Erfahrung: This was an enjoyable experience for our whole family. Three generations went together and shared in the fun educational adventure. We purchased a membership, which I highly recommend for three reasons: 1) affordability, 2) there's so much to do, you'll want to take more time, and 3) you'll want to create more memories with multiple visits! The facility offers wheelchair accessibility, a quaint coffee shop cafe with decent food options (large all beef hot dogs and quesadillas included), and indoor as well as outdoor exhibits. There are interactive exhibits to keep kids engaged. It was well presented and laid out. We were impressed.

The shark exhibit was cool getting to see an accurate size of different spices and learn information about each. Overall my family had a good time and we got to stay out of the heat. My kids are older but little kids would probably be more entertained.

Positive Erfahrung: This was our first time at the Witte and my girls loved it. I will say admission was pretty pricey especially because I had already hyped my kids up for the special exhibits (Space and Sharks) not knowing they would cost so much extra. The space exhibit was a lot of fun and they really enjoyed the rocket simulation as well as the g-force simulator. The sharks exhibit was really cool as well. My girls are huge fans of sharks and we spent a good amount of time learning more about these amazing creatures. We all really enjoyed the Fiesta dresses on exhibit too. I will say we were pretty bummed that the HEB body area was in such bad shape. A lot of the machines didn’t work. All in all we had a great time. I’d just make sure to check out prices for all the exhibits before heading in. They do offer a military discount but it can’t be used if you do the combination of the special exhibits. They said that package is already discounted.

Fantastische Erfahrung: My friend and I enjoyed visiting this museum using the San Antonio CityPass. It is a lovely building with exhibits that highlight local/regional history. It seems like a great place to visit with kids, too.

Positive Erfahrung: This museum is okay to go to I guess.I paid for the shark exhibit to and I didn't feel like it was worth the additional money the place is small and the videos on screen look like from the early 90s lol. The HEB fitness place had a musty smell and the third floor is hot and spiderwebs everywhere. The map they give you isn't really helpful as this whole place is kinda scattered around with no direction. You want to see something nice I highly suggest you visit the museum of science in houston now that one is way worth the money!

Negative Erfahrung: The museum was very crowded by at least four groups of kid from the YMCA. It was very hard to hear my family with out yelling and screaming at each other. There were some great exhibits that were very interesting all though we did have to pay $80 extra to see two other special exhibits but we hardly got to enjoy them. I have never been to such a crowded and loud museum. While there were some great activities for kids to use over half didn’t work as the YMCA kids had already broke them before we got there. Know ing that it had the potential to be great it was not. We will most likely not be coming back. Also the museum did not even inform us that the YMCA kids would be here.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Has a great time with my kiddo! The sharks exhibition was fantastic, lots of large model displays, and many hands on exhibits. Learned a ton at the History of the Black Cowboy. Then there's the Surviving Space, with more hands on exhibits. Kiddo has a car time in the Body Challenge. All around a great way to spend a few hours!

Fantastische Erfahrung: It was my first visit to the Witte despite having lived in the region for many years. I’m surprised I’d never had occasion to visit previously. I was there for a concert, but did take some time to peruse some of the exhibits. The day I went was a free day for the public and it was very well attended. I will definitely be returning in order to enjoy more of their offerings. The Black Cowboy exhibit was quite gratifying. I really appreciated the exposition on my particular heritage being highlighted as a 6th Generation Black Texan.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Always so clean and fun! We saw the shark event and the astronaut. Didn't care too much for the astronaut space one, but the shark exhibit was worth it. And remember Tuesday after 3 are free for Bexar County residents with ID proof. But you still have to pay for the extra exhibits.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Saw the Sharks and the Space exhibit; both are delightful. There is a wonderful anthropologic element to the Shark exhibit and wonderful physical activities in the Space exhibit. I would recommend going as I plan on coming back.

Fantastische Erfahrung: San Antonio residents get free entry on Tuesdays from 3PM to 6PM, just need to redeem the tickets in advance through the website. Staff is kind and the exhibits are interesting.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Went on HEB Tuesday, which as a result there are more families and you're limited to a 3 hour visit only it was worth it. Small but nice museum. Free and easy walkable parking and on the edge of Breckenridge park.

Positive Erfahrung: So much fun for our little scholars!! Our son enjoyed the Dino exhibit and although the rest was not very intriguing for his age, he still was able to view the museum and enjoy himself. Can’t wait for May 24th when the shark exhibit opens

Positive Erfahrung: It was a nice museum with good choices at the gift shop. Went with my family to check out the space exhibit available for a couple months this year. Pretty cool to see a lot of what goes on in the international space station. Really only negative I have is the activity area (movement floor) was a pay-to-play. The toddler discovery garden is a sad corner with concrete on 3 sides.

Fantastische Erfahrung: It was a lot of fun with our toddlers here. The space exhibit had a lot of interactive activities. The gift shop had fun educational items. Even got to try freeze dried ice cream. We walked out to the kid park area behind the museum. Although it was pretty bland we had a lot of fun in the museum itself. The park had music wind chimes at the top of the tower. The vegetable play ground was very cramped up. I wouldn’t recommend going to that area honestly. The play garden was full of close to dead plants. Honestly thought of planting some things there when we left. It was a really sad garden.

Fantastische Erfahrung: We originally discovered the Witte Museum through Pogo Pass and have been back several times now because there is so much to do. My kids especially like the dinosaur exhibits.

Fantastische Erfahrung: TL;DR Busses of kids and heavy rains didn't damper the spirits on this visit. CityPass used We visited the Witte Museum on a Monday, anticipating fewer crowds due to the day of the week. We could not have been more wrong. To our surprise we visited with what we believed were 3 different school districts who had also chosen to visit that day. Our hats go off to all the staff members who seemed unfazed by the heavier-than-desired traffic. We were assured that usually by 1 or 2 o'clock most of the busses that were there would have departed taking the masses with them and that if we wanted we could come back to a practically empty museum at that time. We chose to stick it out largely due to the rain storms that were hitting shortly after our arrival. We toured the entire museum within 5 hours and found ourselves pleasantly surprised with how fun the museum was. Even though most of the information was geared towards middle school students or higher, our 17 month old had the time of her life looking at the different dinosaur fossils and exhibits. We think she mostly enjoyed the Texas History side of the museum. This multi-floored museum also had a large elevator that could fit the masses in it which led to decreased wait times to see other areas of the museum. There were quite a few interactive areas that were well kept and maintained. So would we come back? Most likely, while it wasn't anything like the children's museums we visited, it was interesting enough to justify another trip in the future.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Been here in the past, but this last time we went for their Brewsology Beer Fest at night and it was awesome! Beer, Dinosaur Bones and good vibes! Thanks for letting us roam the museum while tipsy, it made learning that much more fun!

Positive Erfahrung: To start I want to emphasize that I think this place is great. However I’ve noticed that some exhibits are due for a serious overhaul. For example, the adjoining three story building that links to that awesome treehouse has so much potential but sadly it’s wasted on some dated cardiovascular kiosks and other quickly forgotten games. There’s also a lower level floor that immediately feels depressing as you make your way towards the far end and hit a dead end which is a vegetable themed play area for kids 2 and under, nestled next to a sad looking cafeteria and an unusual amount of locked doors, probably storage rooms. Otherwise, the rest of the museum is fantastic. Great exhibit halls with special attention to detail. That new space exhibit is arguably worth the premium on top of the regular entrance fee. Far and away the most impressive part of this museum is the coin funnel tucked away in a dark forgotten corner on the first floor. It’s a kid and adult favorite. Those coins just keep goin’ round n’ round.

Positive Erfahrung: I don't know if it was because of the day I visited, but it was hectic. I had to park a block away and walk. It was so many people with kids. It was also my first time visiting there. I had high expectations. Nonetheless, it was not what I thought it would have been. The art was in a separate building. I had to wait for someone to show me. The artwork was locked up in an enclosure. There was no display of the artist's information. I walked the grounds and ate at a little cafe.

Fantastische Erfahrung: It's always a pleasure to visit the Witte Museum whether I'm viewing the King Tut display, taking my students on a field trip, attending a wedding reception, or attending a banquet. It's a beautiful experience.

Positive Erfahrung: Lots to see and look at. Can be through in two hours. Temporary exhibits are an extra charge. The HEB tree house needs a major overhaul. Overall, we had a great time.

Positive Erfahrung: Some things were really cool- we enjoyed the special space exhibit and the dinosaur bones. The science-focused tree house area is now about teaching kids how to be healthy and it was kind of cool but also a little bit of a disappointment. Several exhibits were "being improved" which was another way of saying broken and haven't been fixed yet. The cafe, which apparently serves only hot dogs and quesadillas for real food options *sold out* when we arrived at around 1:15 pm and we had 3 hungry adults and 2 hungry kids... We hadn't brought any food with because the the website said no food or drink in the exhibits and that food would be available on site. I guess by food they meant chips and ice cream would be available right next to an entire exhibition about making healthy food choices.

Fantastische Erfahrung: The staff is very friendly, and the exhibits are great! Supervised rock climbing for the kids. The Witte museum has come a long way. This would be a great field trip for children and adults.

Fantastische Erfahrung: The Witte is a great museum to bring kids to, but still enjoyable for adults. The exhibits are mostly Texas history/life but also features other interesting exhibits. Visit the small cafe in the back as well. There is free parking to the left of the museum in a two-story garage, but be aware that it can get full on busy days. Admission is reasonably price but ask about available discounts. It is free admission on Tuesdays for Bexar county residents from 3-6 PM.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Took family from out of town and our 11yr old granddaughter took the lead and guided the tour. She enjoyed this as did the family. Different topics to explore flora and fauna, Texas history and the gallery of rock and roll ☆'s that performed in San Antonio. Something for everyone!

Fantastische Erfahrung: Such a great place. It is definitely geared more towards elementary and early middle school students but the staff is so wonderful and they know how to interact with students of all levels and offer great field trip experiences. We also had my mother-in-law's memorial service here because she loved art and museums. They let all the guests visit the museum and special exhibits, they have a lost of caterers who work with you and the staff at the museum is amazing and helpful.

Having visited the White Shaman rock shelter before, I especially appreciated their exhibit on that. From @ 4.5 billion year old meteorites to their special exhibit on outer space exploration, what's not to like? Met Tour Coordinator, Matilda Gonzalez, who gave much in the way of impassioned information and tour possibilities for my Environmental Health Education class at the University of the Incarnate Word, where I teach. Plus, the xeriscaped grounds are beautiful. Come see for yourself!

Fantastische Erfahrung: This is a nice museum. The dinosaur exhibit is pretty cool, but it also has a Texas history exhibit, an art exhibit, and is currently running a space exhibit (it costs extra). It also features a large outdoor space that is quite scenic and has room for kids to stretch their legs.

Fantastische Erfahrung: The Surviving Space exhibit was out of this world! My kids enjoyed exploring and learning about space and what it's like to be an astronaut, and we touched a real asteroid!!! The gift shop was pricey as expected, there's plushies and cute little trinkets that you can buy, like keychains and colorful rocks if you like that sort of thing! The museum was amazing as a whole! I really enjoyed seeing the large intact dinosaur bones for the first time! I recommend getting the Family+ pass if you don't want to wait in line to get in.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Took my 1.5 year old on a play date here. We had a blast! Kids 3 and under are free fyi. They have dinosaur bones and a place you can dig for fossils. My girl loved all the taxidermy animals (they didn't run away like the zoo ), and she had so much fun looking at the display with the horse saddle upstairs. They also have a cool water table type area outside and an adorable toddler play area in the basement of the heb tree house. The celery slide was everyone's favorite part! The rest of the playhouse for older kids you do need a pass of some sort, and the things they have available are designed for your child to learn about their health and body. They have plenty of picnic space and a cafe on site (no coffee or open drinks allowed in through main entrance) that is very reasonably priced. I got a 12 in quesodilla and water for $6. They also offer a fig and sunflower butter sandwich that my friend and her kids absolutely adore.

Fantastische Erfahrung: We went to the Witte Museum with a 2nd grade class field trip. The Witte staff did a great job of welcoming the students and chaperones and explaining what their plan for the day. Their STEM program was excellent and kept the students engaged. It has been decades since I visited the Witte, but I can see myself coming back. The exhibits were fascinating and engaging. From Texas history, to Texas animals to Texas dinosaurs the Witte has something for everyone. My wife and I agree that we need to come back and enjoy the museum at a slower rate. It's quite, beautiful and just relaxing. A cool place for a date night. We worth the price of admission.

They have a good variety of exhibits including dinosaurs, Texas nature and history, and an interactive area that's great for kids. Thanks to its variety, this is the kind of museum that people of all ages can enjoy. Both our 6 and 4 year old daughters enjoyed their time here, plus the adults in our group enjoyed the museum as well! They have a military discount, and the free parking garage was great to have as well.

Fantastische Erfahrung: We have been to the Witte on a number of occasions, and the whole family always has a great time. They have massive dinosaur specimens, a whole section devoted to Texas wildlife and an exhibit providing vast amounts of detail on Native Texan peoples. They also have a beautiful outdoor space that is adjacent to Brackenridge park and the San Antonio River. They have a whole parking garage for the museum and it is a short distance from other attractions in the area, such as the Zoo. Overall, a fun place for family and history buffs.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Amazing modern exhibits with plenty of interaction. We liked how there were different segments of the museum to attract various audiences. With a prehistoric section Featured some amazing dinosaur skeletons. There were also some wonderful Texan history exhibits.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Great place to spend a day with family. We have been to a number of history and science museums and did not expect much from Witte Museum, but it did not disappoint. Is it comparable to some of the museums in cities like Washington DC and LA? No! But this is a decent museum and surely worth a visit. Both my kids really enjoyed the activities in Witte Museum. If you have pogopass (Austin and San Antonio), then one visit to Witte Museum is included, and we made use of it

Positive Erfahrung: I love all things history and this was an excellent experience. I really enjoyed seeing all the stuff they had on the King Ranch. There is quite a variety of things there to see. Something for everyone and some interactive stuff for the kids. Mine sure enjoyed it. Also we actually went on a Tuesday and they let people in for free from 3-6.

Fantastische Erfahrung: This museum reminded me of the museum that we have back home in Chicago. Only our T-rex "Sue" is way BIGGER in size. Sorry, Austin Lol. But overall it was a really kool experience to visit this museum.

Fantastische Erfahrung: It's definitely a place to learn more, for both kids and adults. Many information, good exhibits, lab rooms to get in contact with fossels and many other things. There are tables with chairs and water taps all over the museum, so you really can spend there the whole day. Also, there's a cafe in a separate, looking old building, but we didn't visit it this time. Outside, there's something like a courtyard with many benches, tables, additional historical buildings to explore. And many other things that I didn't mention. There's several free parking options. On Tuesdays you can visit it for free from 3 pm till 6 pm. Do it!

Positive Erfahrung: Awesome museum! There’s a lot to see and do for both adults and kids, and offers a wide range of exhibits from prehistory and ecology to cultural heritage and history. The outdoor area is nice and shaded, with nice views. Museum itself was cool and clean. However, I’m only giving it a four star review because one of the ticket checkers began to follow us around and lecture at us about how he believes that evolution is a “stupid theory”. He’s entitled to his opinions, but I’m not sure that this is the environment for preaching his personal thoughts about the exhibits. They speak for themselves.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Had a great experience at the Witte seeing Antarctic Dinosaurs and Tyrannosaurs: Meet the Family. Staff were very friendly and willing to share tidbits if knowledge and help guide us when we had questions. Exhibits were a good balance of informative and interactive and there were enough to rotate through without being crowded or waiting on someone else to finish up. Cafe had some tasty food and the prickly pear lemonade was very refreshing.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Me and a friend went to the Witte Museum this past Friday and we had a blast. We bought two tickets to see both special exhibits they had there. Tyrannosaurus: Meet The Family and Antarctic Dinosaurs. For 2 adult tickets (see it all) it was about $50 something. Which isn't that bad. I would definitely recommend to check it out.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Beautiful grounds and museum. The prices were reasonable for thd experience. We were only able to stay for 2 hours , and we're not able to see everything. The exhibits were educational and interactive. Nothing was broken, and the staff was helpful. My children loved the indoor excavation center. I am planning a trip to go again at a later date to see more.

Positive Erfahrung: It was a really fun and great experience! There was not too many people so it wasn’t crowded and we went early so we were able to really explore everything and take our time. In total we spent almost 4 hours there if not that, and we came across a few water fountains not working and when we finally found the cafe it was closed. Make sure you bring water so you don’t end up like we did, but definitely recommend coming and bringing the kids if you have some or just going with your partner and having a fun time together.

Fantastische Erfahrung: We hadn't visited the Witte Museum in over 20 years, so we were tremendously impressed by all the additions, updates, and multiple exhibits that are now offered!

Fantastische Erfahrung: I was at an event for my first time at the Witte. It was a seamless experience. The hall was spacious and overlooks the lawn and river. It’s beautiful.

Fantastische Erfahrung: What an awesome place to visit. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. The exhibits interesting. The dinosaur was my grandson's favorite of course! The dinosaur exhibit was very life like! The staff was very helpful too! Going back for sure!
