Fantastische Erfahrung: Higher levels in arts. Beginning the visit on 5th floor and then going downstairs, is the best way to watch and enjoy this invaluable art collection. Lot of people there everyday!!!!

Fantastische Erfahrung: It had been a few years since I had been to the MoMa and it was great to be there! Thoughtfully laid out and refreshingly diverse exhibits. The introductions to the various exhibits provide a good frame through which to appreciate the works and the accompanying audio descriptions, reflections or conversations with the artists for select pieces help deepen understanding of the works. Particularly enjoyed the abstract expressionism exhibit and the works of Pollock, Krasner, Rothko, etc. and the expansive Monet exhibit. The MoMa is worth the visit!

Fantastische Erfahrung: If you enjoy modern art visiting the MoMa is a must, I really enjoyed almost every art piece, and I think that the building is a beautiful architectural landmark, the spaces that create for each section. It is a must to visit if you are in New York.

Fantastische Erfahrung: A must visit if in NYC. Different approach to collections in comparison to European museums. You will find a piece or two of most of the important artists. I would recommend a good few hours to soak in the art as it can be quite busy.

Fantastische Erfahrung: I only wish I had more time to see everything in one visit. The museum is well curated and organized by time period and style. It can become overcrowded so it takes patience to get a closer look at the more popular pieces.

Positive Erfahrung: If you have to choose one museum in NYC, I would say first is the met on 5th in Central Park, then natural History museum. This was ok at best. If you must see stary night then I guess you have to go. But even for modern art the met is better.

Negative Erfahrung: Ive been stranded in NYC for 2 days due to canceled connection flights. I thought i would splurge and treat myself to MOMA but since i had gone to a gluten free bakery and had a treat in my bag they refused to let me in. Seriously?? The bag was just going to sit in a locker closed for an hour. It was in a safe container. Ridiculous

Fantastische Erfahrung: Absolutely worth making the time to visit this museum and the amazing art there! There was a wait of maybe 10 minutes to enter at opening, which was to be expected. Ticket prices are very reasonable. I spent about 3.5 hours going through the museum and shop. I loved the free self-directed audio tour, which gave me insight into some pieces I would not have had otherwise. Appreciated the well-placed benches to rest and take in the art for longer. I'd recommend starting with some of the most popular/well-known displays as they may be harder to get close to (Van Gogh was the busiest, followed by Monet then Picasso) but I never had to wait long to get in front of these masterpieces.

Fantastische Erfahrung: One of two best museums to visit in NYC along with the Met. You will find the steady seller modern art pieces on the 4th floor and classical art pieces on the 5th. 2nd and 3rd rotate interesting exhibitions and there is a pretty cool outdoor garden on the 1st. A must-go in NYC.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Amazing collection across decades: Monet, Mondrian, Magritte, and Klein, Klimt, Kandinsky, and Kirchner. We enjoyed every floor and the park, but the security search at the entrance took us apart.

Fantastische Erfahrung: One of my favourite daytime spots in NYC. Some fab installations and you really could spend the whole day here quite easily. The cafes and shop have a lot to offer and staff are friendly and helpful with any queries and getting around the venue.

Fantastische Erfahrung: What a cool place!! This was a fun visit for us. The art can be a little different for my taste, but to be close enough to look at it is crazy. We didn't have enough time to see everything. You would need 3-4 hours to see everything properly.

Negative Erfahrung: Floors 1 to 3 were not my thing, but the older more contemporary art on the 4th floor made the visit worthwhile.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Lovely clean modern museum. Lots to look at on a rainy day in NYC. Can get very busy on wet days. Free cloakroom for coats. Lovely terrace cafe on top floor. The shop is a must with lots of cool products on offer.

Fantastische Erfahrung: An absolutely incredible collection of art. We saw the Joan Jonas exhibit, modern multimedia artist with interesting formats for even the presentation of her work. The Museum also offers some famous pieces from artists such as Van Gogh, Mondrian, Frida Kalho, Dali, and René Magritte to mention a few. Very crowded so plan accordingly.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Iconic pieces as well as artists that were new to me. Beautiful atmosphere, fairly easy to navigate and see everything at the rate of speed that works for you. I went only an hour before closing and got to see the art I wanted and didn’t feel too rushed. No wait to get in.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Breathtaking collection. So many amazing works of art for many tastes!!! Dalí's melting clock painting greeted me as I started on the 5th floor at the recommendation of a staff member since I only had a couple of hours. Huge Pollack and Rothko paintings were wonderful highlights for me. Go, just go!! So many of these paintings are completely different experiences in person!!! One of my favorite surprises was an Edward Hopper painting of a gas station, located near the elevators on the 4th or 5th floor. Gorgeous!!!!!

NYC has a great collection of museums and this is one of them for sure. I'm just disappointed I didn't get to see everything but it's another reason for me to return.

Positive Erfahrung: The Starry Night by Van Gogh is so much brighter than it appears on all the items I have seen over the years. It really is amazing. The Shana Moulton exhibit was great. I tried to be respectful and let others enjoy it too. I thought I would find it on YouTube to watch later. I didn't and wished I had stayed longer. There were people bottlenecking the entrance and MOMA staff quickly put a stop to that. There wasn't a Keith Haring or Jeff Koons in the museum. But they were selling Keith Haring merchandise in the gift shop. There wasn't a Banksy in the entire museum. They need to sell a few Picassos. They had enough of those. There was an Edward Hopper painting just hanging out by the elevator. The staff was very helpful. They got me to Starry Night quickly and I asked about Keith Haring and Jeff Koons. That was a no and I sat down and double checked the website.

Fantastische Erfahrung: The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) is a world-class museum by any standard. I have never been disappointed with their special exhibits or their collection. As a visitor, it’s essential to know a few things. You should purchase your tickets in advance, particularly for popular times of the year or during the opening of new exhibits. Better yet, become a member and take advantage of early access (typically 9:30 vs 10:30) and know that you are donating to a worthy cause. I’m not going to touch upon the art as we all appreciate different artists and styles; suffice it to say this is a modern art museum, so if you're looking for the masters, head uptown. There is a coat check in the basement, a washroom on every floor, and both escalators and elevators, as well as a lovely staircase. During the spring, summer, and fall, the sculpture garden is open and makes for a delightful place to sit.

Fantastische Erfahrung: This is my favorite museum in New York. Very cool permanent exhibitions, cool rotating ones... And additional events such as music and films. They also have a great cafe and restaurant. And if you are lucky, the sculpture garden may be open for you to wander around... Also... a great store with awesome design items... If you are a NYC resident, you may want to check it out for free on the first Friday of the month, uniqlo nights - you need to sign up and request a free ticket.

Positive Erfahrung: MoMA has some beautiful and strange artwork that is definitely worth seeing. My favorite was definitely Claude Monet’s Water Lilies, but each exhibit has something to offer. My only complaint was that they were filming in the Van Gogh room and kept us waiting for about 20 min, and then when they finally let us in, there was no order or crowd control so it was total chaos. Other than that, it was a nice experience.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Sadly only had 45 minutes before a show. There is an incredible collection of Art and art forms. We worth the admission price.

Fantastische Erfahrung: I just loved the way they reorganized their space, and the temporary exhibits. The newly renovated European Galeries are amazing, even though in 3 hours we only could see a small portion of them. This is a place one should visit very often - 2-3 hours every month if possible.

Fantastische Erfahrung: A museum is a museum…unless it’s MOMA. Personally I think the name says it all. Consider this the mothership of museums, giving birth and inspiration to museums all over the world! The downside is the museum store. So uninspired you can’t imagine it’s part and parcel of the other. Coming from Pittsburgh, I was annoyed that they were leaning so heavily on the art of Pittsburgh native, Andy Warhol. Sure, I love Andy, but I didnt expect him to be so prevelant with thousands!!!! of other artists to highlight. I guess I should be proud for my city, but c’mon!!! Other than Andy, Frida took the other spotlight. The other stuff was well… mostly stuff. Call marketing and make a few suggestions. Can we mix it up a bit more? I would have taken away a half star if the widget would have let me. Just for not being creative with the take-aways. You can’t take away the overall beauty of MOMA, but every beauty has a flaw. And I’ve told you what it is.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Love this museum! The Picasso exhibit is a must-see. Of course, Monet’a water Lillie’s never disappoint… but the show stopper was a piece by Gustav Klimt!!

Fantastische Erfahrung: MoMA ! I went to MoMA today as a volunteer for my child's school field trip. It was a very special experience for me today. It was very impressive that the children studied happily in such a good environment. What a great MoMA docent who welcomed my child's class today. I commend you for making the class fun and great! All of the staff at MoMA were friendly (even the security guards who yelled at me not to go near the artwork). Thank you so much, MoMA, you make me a better Mother . :) Ps . Is there a Korean commentary for this? I'll definitely go and listen to it next time.

Fantastische Erfahrung: We spent the afternoon at Moma checking out the various works of art. We especially enjoyed the older and more famous works of Picasso and Van Gogh. The audio tours which are available online really enhance the experience with background stories and different insights. There is a cafe and coffee bar in the museum. I had a kale salad which was very good. My girlfriend got the grilled cheese which was just okay. The prices were a little expensive but that's expected in the city. Overall there were plenty of exhibits to view and it was a fun day.

I love being a member here. Cannot say enough good things about the museum and friendly courteous knowledgeable staff. I would recommend bringing a pair of headphones and listen to the in depth analyses available for many paintings. Overall this place is easily one of the best museums in the city . Fantastische Erfahrung: The reputation of the MoMA is hardly enhanced by this review. The museum has been a staple of the art world very decades. The museum itself is a work of architectural art. My most recent visit was for the “Picasso in Fontainebleau” exhibit. The permanent collection is curated beautifully and tells a narrative in addition to displaying some of the most famous works of art from the past 2 centuries. It’s a visit during your visit to NYC. Go on weekdays for better viewing and less crowds.

Positive Erfahrung: Nice museum indeed, felt overpriced as in Europe you can see even more art pieces and for less price. Even so, it is still worth the experience if you come to NYC but I would give priority to the MET museum. That's better value for money.

Fantastische Erfahrung: I love art museums, I try to go to one every city I visit. The MoMA was no exception. Current admission is $28 for an adult non member. If you’re still a student with a valid ID then you can save $13. Just a note, it was free when I went because it was one of those special nights. I went awhile back so I can share some pictures from the time I went. I’m sure it’ll be a breath of fresh air from all of the photos of Starry Night. Would I recommend it to new visitors? Absolutely. They have 6 floors so you can easily spend 3-4 hrs or longer, depending on if you’re taking the time to look at stuff. It can get crowded depending on if you’re going on a week day vs weekend. Museum was very clean. I recommend stopping by. People tend to over exaggerate about the price but any working adult can afford $28.

Positive Erfahrung: Great museum in Midtown with a good amount of space and Art. Crowds can be a bit much and the special exhibitions are the main draw. Displayed permanent collection is great but seems to change little.

Fantastische Erfahrung: This art gallery is world class, it has so many of the internationally recognized artwork and artists. You could easily spend at least half a day here.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Inspiring collections, including An-My Lê’s provoking collection on life during the Vietnam war, and consequent studies of other conflicts, abstract Impressionism with several Cy Twombly and Willem de Kooning pieces. Lots of Picasso, Rothko. Long line for Van Gogh’s starry night. Great installments, especially enjoyed Alexander Estrela’s Flat Bells. Good food at the second floor cafe, coffee is not bad if you’re not willing to wait in the line to get into the cafe.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Starry Night is on the 5th floor along with the Persistence of Memory. The 5th floor is always full but it's worth it to go, it has art from Picasso, Stieglitz, O'Keeffe, etc... I like this floor a lot but visit other floors too, make a day out of it! If you just go to see Starry Night then you wasted your money There's cute stuff in the gift shop too if you want to get a souvenir (It's pricey but they've lasted me a long time)

Fantastic new hanging of the collection . 4 logistic wishes : more breakfast and gluten free options at cafe ( fruits , gluten free cookie or croissant ) , tables where u can seat with strolley ( kids often fall asleep by lunch time ) , info when 6th floor cafe is closed on elevator signage ( we ran the whole museum back and forth and 6 th floor ) , softer and more creative lighting in cafe :-)

Positive Erfahrung: Such a wonderful experience in some of the sections of the museum. Depending on your love for the art you might like some sections more than the others. For me, the audio/video art exhibits were such a disappointment. The section emits negativity and despair. It's not a very pleasant experience hearing the constant static noise and trying to decipher the art. I loved the Van Gogh section most.

Fantastische Erfahrung: This place is wonderful, a museum to get properly lost in. Galleries are ordered by theme, floors by time period. The premanent collection is in constant flux, which puts MOMA above other comparable museums such as Tate Modern in London. There is so much to see, it's very easy to spend a whole day there.

Positive Erfahrung: World class museum but our enjoyment was impacted by too many visitors. Some cutoff in occupancy, timed tickets, congestion pricing, would make for a better visit.

Positive Erfahrung: So my wife wanted to visit and I will start by saying that I personally am not an art major or artist of any sort. Of course I grew up learning of Salvador Dali and Andy Warhol. There are only a few of those types of paintings here. I'm not up to speed on current stuff as I wasn't expecting to see a stuffed animal exhibit or a violin filled with corn. So maybe you'll find some things here for you but most just seemed odd or out of place for me personally.

Positive Erfahrung: The museum is pretty basic. The art amazing. The flow is nicely done. To view the starry night painting you have to fight a crowd. This could probably be handled better by the museum.

Unfortunately when I went they removed Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night. But I had the opportunity to see the persistence of the memory of Salvador Dalì.

Fantastische Erfahrung: One of my favorite art museums! The wait time to get in was pretty non existent and you can buy your tickets beforehand or when you arrive. My husband and I loved exploring each level and the shop afterwards.

Positive Erfahrung: To be honest, probably one of the most overrated museums I have visited. Perhaps it isn't for me, but they don't have a lot of art pieces to show for, they do have some visual treats but way less than i expected. Some areas felt like some amateur collections. Felt it was overpriced ticket.

I am with art and how much it can say to you without speaking at all. Picasso Monet Matisse Van Gogh Lichtenstein Dali so many more... Just so intense....

Fantastische Erfahrung: You can’t fault this place. It has so many visual treats, and a constantly changing smorgasbord of interesting exhibitions. So many internationally favourite pieces, as well as numerous personal favourites. It also has two or three restaurants attached from cafe to fine dining. My favourite bit is the gift shop though. Everything in it is curated to perfection and of good quality. Decor and atmosphere of the building is fantastic as well. It’s definitely one of the top things to do in New York, and well worth going on multiple visits during your stay. In fact why not become a member? It’s well worth it with big discounts from the shop and free entry for multiple guests.

Fantastische Erfahrung: The art was beautiful, and the galleries & installations were well laid out. The audio descriptions were helpful. It was far too overwhelmingly crowded (shoulder to shoulder in some galleries) to be able to enjoy each gallery, so we skipped much of the museum. Maybe we will catch more of it on another trip!

Fantastische Erfahrung: We stood in a line that was around the block to enter the museum and this was right before the place opened! The line however moved pretty fast and we were inside the museum in under 30 min. Take your time to explore the amazing collection of art. Be sure to visit the lower level for free kid friendly activities.

Fantastische Erfahrung: We had Go City passes, and it was easy to redeem the passes. (didn't take long). We spent about 3 hours since we had other plans. 3 hours was kind of enough to see the whole floor (with a bit of a rush), but I would plan it for 4+ hours here if you want to enjoy each art piece at your own pace.

Fantastische Erfahrung: This is an incredible museum. I could easily spend an entire day here and not run out of things to look at. There is even a room where you get to draw called a creative lab. I believe the best experience comes from listening to the audio explanations for specific paintings. They go more in depth into what the art pieces mean and what the artist was thinking when they created it.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Wonderful museum. The artworks are diverse and mostly beautiful. Building is easy to navigate through, and well organized. Friendly ticketing staff. After you’re done with looking at the art, I highly recommended visiting the gift store inside to buy some beautiful posters, puzzles and other items for yourself and friends & family.

Positive Erfahrung: for art lovers. a museum worth visiting. included in the New York pass, we were in within minutes. in August 2023 there was no starry night because it was at the MET

Fantastische Erfahrung: Loved, loved! My 4 year old is a Van Gogh fan and was so excited to see Starry Night in person. He loved seeing the olive tree painting. He was curious as to why “furniture” was art lol. Overall we loved it. There is one Frida Kahlo self portrait and one Diego Rivera painting.

Positive Erfahrung: A lot to explore in this museum. Adult tickets were $30 pp. For casual art enjoyers, maybe plan to spend ~3 hours walking through all the galleries. We started from the top floor and made our way down. Highlights include the Picasso, Van Gogh, and Monet pieces. Somehow I didn't know that the original Starry Night was kept here until we turned a corner and saw it. On the bottom floor is a gift shop.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Great experience. Loved the exhibition and also the pieces that are always in the collection. We found it easy to find the more well known pieces and also experience the museum as it told the story of modern art.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Such a great museum to go as a NYC resident. I have annual membership which pays for itself after 4 visits. I take my toddler there as well
