🗣️ Museo Heath Robinson: Opiniones
Experiencia fantástica: Brilliant little museum. w.Heath Robinson was ahead of his time. Tickets are reasonable and there is so much to discover but not too much that it overwhelms. I love the little makeshift computer-chocolate dispenser ! Model of the building is ahead of his time.
Experiencia fantástica: An exhibition about his life, not just the cartoons. Very worthwhile. Easy walk from Pinner tube station, excellent cafe on site too.
Experiencia fantástica: We didn't go to the Museum but to the cafe next door.
Experiencia fantástica: Very nice and interesting ! King staff, you always feel welcome !
Experiencia fantástica: It's a nice and easy place to visit. Not too far from Pinner station with two car parks close by. When we visited there were two galleries open. One was illustrations by Heath Robinson of work by Rabelais. I didn't find that part enjoyable although the illustrations were excellent, the subject matter was disturbing. The other gallery was charming and had the more fun aspects of Heath Robinson's work. The space is limited but there is an interactive display with a much wider range of material available. The Heath Robinson inspired computer is great fun. You can breeze through the displays in minutes if you want but you can easily spend an hour or more there if you read the information, talk to the volunteers and look at the interactive displays and models.
Experiencia fantástica: Looking forward to the Mary Wheelhouse exhibition in January 2024.
Experiencia fantástica: This is a sweet little museum and gallery tucked away in north-west London. However while the space is small a great deal of material is on show and, like Heath Robinson's artwork, it all rewards close attention. While, I suppose, Heath Robinson was not a "major artist" he was remarkably prolific and endlessly imaginative. There's a good reason why his name lives on through the very English concept of wacky, egg-race type inventions but there was more to the man than that. However to find out what that was you'll have to make the trip out to Pinner. You won't be disappointed.
Experiencia fantástica: Wonderful displays, friendly staff, and a great shop. Cafe bearby too!
Experiencia fantástica: Lovely little museum, I didn't realise he was an artist, I thought he just made contraptions
Experiencia fantástica: Very nice day out in Pinner even though it was raining
Experiencia fantástica: Very amusing collection. Definitely worth visiting.
Thank you for your visit and your wholesome review, we hope to see you again for our next special exhibition in September!
Experiencia fantástica: Very good not what I expected even better I didn't understand how much he did
Hi Steven, thank you for your visit! Our mission is to deliver a full picture of how diverse and prolific Heath Robinson was as an artist and to inspire people with his work. That's why reviews like yours mean so much to us! Make sure you don't miss our forthcoming exhibition 'Happily Ever After', a curated selection of illustrations after Andersen and Perrault's most popular fairy tales!
Experiencia fantástica: An excellent small museum
Hi Francis So glad to hear you enjoyed the museum! Our next special exhibition in December is Heath Robinson and Shakespeare. Hope to see you again soon!
Experiencia fantástica: Interesting exhibits and artworks in a lovely parkland setting. The tea room is also well worth a visit
Hi Asad! We're so glad you enjoyed your visit, wholesome reviews like yours really make our day. We'll make sure we get your feedback to our lovely tea room staff as well!
Experiencia fantástica: Went here for a craft class.......
We hope you had fun, we surely did! Feel free to check out our calendar for the next craft workshops :)
Experiencia fantástica: Fabulous and fascinating. A real gem.
Hi Aleks, Thank you so much for your lovely review, it means a lot to us. We hope to see you again for our next exhibition!
Experiencia positiva: Worth a visit
Thank you Margaret, we're glad you enjoyed your visit and we hope to see you again!
Experiencia fantástica: I only found out recently that this place existed, and what a little gem it is. We had pre-arranged with the manager that we could put our small dog in her doggy pram and bring her with us - its wonderful to find a place that is so accommodating. The staff were friendly and informative, which helped make the experience such a joy. The museum is small, but a real treasure. Most of us oldies will be familiar with something being described as "Heath Robinson" from the eccentric contraptions he drew, but I imagine he's less well-known to younger generations. What I hadn't appreciated was what a very fine illustrator he was, and what a reputation he had during the early 20th century. So I've been entertained and educated. Oh, and the gift shop is delightful. The museum is set in a lovely little park where we enjoyed walking the dog in spite of the weather. There is also a very decent cafe. A pleasant green suburb, Pinner really doesn't seem like a place where you'd find a museum, but it really is worth a visit if you love art and are fond of English eccentricity.
Dear Richard Thank you for so much for your glowing review. We always endeavour to be as accommodating to our visitors as possible. We're very glad you found our staff and volunteers to be so helpful and hope to be welcoming you back again soon.
Experiencia positiva: Nice gift shop, but unfortunately not free, when I thought it was prior, as a very local Pinner resident. Understandable though, and definitely worth visiting to learn about the history of Pinner and activities which take place.
Dear Darth, We are glad you enjoyed visiting our gift shop! Unfortunately, it would not be sustainable for us to allow free access to anyone. Unlike many museums in London, the Heath Robinson Museum is registered as an art charity and as such we don't receive any public funding. Thus, the entry fee is one of our sources of income, which enables us to sustain our numerous activities, such as preserving our collection and presenting new exhibitions to the public. We're sorry for any inconvenience you might have encountered and we hope to see you again!
Experiencia fantástica: We visited Pinner specifically to come and see this small museum and had bought our tickets in advance, which I would recommend. What a pleasure to spend time looking at so many brilliant examples of Heath Robinson's illustrations and artwork! There are two small galleries here....one is a general history of gallery explaining and showing the artistic development of this master illustrator which many examples of his humourous and more serious drawings. I've always loved his wartime drawings.... The second gallery exhibits Heath Robinson's Shakespeare illustrations which are very fine and very worthwhile taking time over. There is also a really good shop with some lovely books and prints of his work. I asked and the man on the reception confirmed that they have a full online shop service, so if you have a lengthy underground/ train journey home, as we had, you can order for delivery. We were impressed! It was well worth an hour and 40 minute journey to come and have a look at this excellent small museum! I can heartily recommend a visit if Heath Robinson's illustrations interest you. Plenty of information on the website.
Hi Simon. Thank you so much for your glowing and in-depth review of our museum. We're glad you enjoyed our current special exhibition on Shakespeare and found our online shop easy to use. Our next special exhibition titled, "Hidden Treasures", opens on 25th March with works from a private collection. Thank you again Simon, we look forward to welcoming you back soon.
Experiencia fantástica: Amazing place. Really wanted to visit for a long time, wasn't disappointed. He's an inspirational figure, a visionary in many ways. All lovingly put together in this cathedral like building . Really good.
Dear Clive We're so glad to hear you enjoyed your visit and that the wait was worth it. Thank you for your lovely review. Please do visit us again for our next special exhibition, "Hidden Treasures", opening in March!
Experiencia fantástica: Excellent small museum.
Hi Robert We're so glad to hear you enjoyed your visit. Thank you for your very kind review. We look forward to welcoming you back to the museum again soon.
Experiencia positiva: Small and by definition specialised. There is a spacious art gallery attached and we went there for a brilliant travelling wood engraving exhibition that was being hosted.
Hi Phil Thank you very much for your kind review. We’re so glad to hear you enjoyed our galleries and special exhibition. Please do visit us again in the new year to see our next exhibition: “Heath Robinson’s Shakespearean Illustrations”.
Experiencia fantástica: Learned so much about him.
Hi Andre Thank you so much for your lovely review. We're glad to hear you learnt so much. Do visit us again soon in the new year to see our new special exhibition, "Heath Robinson's Shakespearean Illustrations"
Experiencia fantástica: Very interesting
Hi Ian Thank you for your review, glad you enjoyed your visit. Do visit us again for our new exhibition , "Heath Robinson's Shakespearean Illustrations, in the new year!
Experiencia fantástica: What a lovely find in a park! I loved finding Heath Robinson illustrations as a wee boy and to find his museum open, well staffed and well supported is a joy. There is a wonderful interactive room for children of all ages up to grandparent (!) and an exhibition of HR work and a further gallery, this month with the art and history of wood carving. The cafe next door was equally well stocked, staffed and reasonable, overlooking a pond full of birds. The photo is a detail from an illustration that numismatists will recognise as a gold coin grading system, still in use today.
Hi Macartney Thank you so much for your lovely review. We're glad to hear our museum helped you rediscover your love of WHR illustrations from a young age! Our next exhibition after 'Scene Through Wood' will be "Heath Robinson's Shakespeare Illustrations" from late December. Thank you again Macartney, we look forward to seeing you again soon!
Experiencia fantástica: Lovely staff very interesting.
Hi Marion Thank you for your feedback. Lovely to hear that you enjoyed your visit! Our next special exhibition, opening just after Christmas, will be on Heath Robinson's Shakespearian Illustrations. We hope to see you again soon.
Experiencia positiva: Excellent small introduction to this amazing artist
Hi Roger Thank you for your review, so glad to hear you enjoyed your visit. Our next special exhibition in December will be exploring Heath Robinson and Shakespeare. We hope to see you again soon!
Experiencia fantástica: It's surprising how few people remember Heath Robinson. His wonderful cartoons and excellent sense of humour seem to have been quite a constant in my life. Think of the artist version of PG Wodehouse. This museum for him is small but perfect, capturing his origins, with and talent superbly. There's a very good cafe adjacent as well!
Hi Jan Thank you for so much for your lovely review, it's always wonderful to learn about the impact WHR's works have had on our visitors. We look forward to welcoming you again soon.
Experiencia fantástica: A grand place left with a smile on my face
Hi Alan Thank you so much for your lovely review, very glad to hear we brought a smile to your face! Please do visit us again soon.
Experiencia positiva: Not to interesting at least for me.
Dear Tomasz, We're sorry to hear about that. You might want to check our current temporary exhibition and the upcoming ones, you might find them more suitable for you!
Experiencia positiva: Learned that most of his work was in drawings vs. contraptions.
Hi Roger We're so pleased to hear you found your visit enjoyable and informative. We hope to see you again soon for our next exhibition "Scene Through Wood" beginning 10th September.
Experiencia fantástica: It was a very nice museum. Very quaint and very interesting. Highly recommend.
Hi Roberta We're so glad to hear you enjoyed your visit! We hope to see you again soon.
Experiencia fantástica: Fantastic exhibition of Korky Paul's work on Winnie the Witch. We all loved it.
Really glad you all enjoyed it. This weekend is the last chance to see it before the exhibition is changed - do spread the word!
Experiencia fantástica: Interesting story and lovely location!
Experiencia fantástica: Friendly welcome, knowledgeable staff, fascinating insight to a marvellous artist. Lots of light, and detail and a wonderful shop with all sorts of goodies. Even managed to win myself some sweeties on a Heath Robinson machine! Will come again.
Experiencia fantástica: I was privileged to be on a private guided tour for a group before the museum opened to the public. The gallery is well laid out and takes you on a chronological journey through the life and work of Heath Robinson. The rooms are light and airy, and the shop is well stocked.
Experiencia fantástica: A great informative place about a man you realise was ahead of his time with drawings and artwork that is funny at time with a serious undertone, find pictures of Silent Discos, the civilisation of rugby and all drawn before 1939. There is even a manual version of the Banksy picture shreader. There is nothing Heath Robinson about this place.
Experiencia fantástica: Interesting insight into an illustrator of repute
Experiencia positiva: Very interactive and interesting
Experiencia positiva: Good Art gallery of Heath Robinson, some activities for children were good.
Experiencia fantástica: Anyone will like this....
Experiencia positiva: Small but interesting of his life and work
Experiencia positiva: Small but delightful quirky drawings, very good shop. Excellent cafe in biilding opposite, plus lake, ducks and budgies!
Experiencia positiva: Interesting for locals. Some lovely gimmicks for kids. Small and noce
Experiencia fantástica: Really friendly stuff on site.
Experiencia positiva: Nice small interesting. Good places to stop for coffee u can sit out said there's a pond LOADS birds. Great for children. Hope it stays OPEN
Experiencia positiva: Small gallery, always has an interesting exhibition along with the exhibition of Heath Robinson.
Experiencia fantástica: Essential visit for those with an eye for art and a sense of humour. Well known for his elaborate contraptions and drawings; this is a small but fine collection of Heath Robinson's works. You could tie in with his local blue plaque. At the moment Q3 2019 it also has a wonderful Tim Lewis exhibition of autonomons and the like- it's fabulous and fun.
Experiencia fantástica: A marvellous little museum with a reasonable entry price (£6). Well informed and enthusiastic staff. A great place for an introduction to the quirky world of Heath Robinson. It has a well stocked shop with many HR related gifts. This museum also runs a number of activities that are interesting to both children and adults.
Experiencia fantástica: Fabulous local museum celebrating Heath Robinson. Also a Tim Lewis exhibition of analogue sculptures which are all working models a must for the kids.
Experiencia fantástica: Ever changing exhibitions closed now but Londons only museum dedicated to Health Robinson
Experiencia fantástica: Nice small museum and cafe in a quaint park.
Experiencia positiva: We weren't able to go in to the museum, we sat next to the duck pond and watched the ducklings.
Experiencia positiva: Lovely setting
Experiencia fantástica: Good
Experiencia positiva: Disappointed at the high entrance price considering there are only 2 rooms with exhibits but will try to return for Open House. Very pleasant volunteer staff in the well stocked gift shop.
Experiencia negativa: Personally £6 entrance fee was not worth it.
Experiencia positiva: Small museum but nicely put together and friendly staff.
Experiencia positiva: Not large but very interesting history of Heath and his family
Experiencia positiva: Nice but quite expensive.
Experiencia positiva: Great museum
Experiencia negativa: Not much to see. But very expensive for a family visit. Staff fellow us around.
Experiencia positiva: SMALL with enthusiastic curators our grandson loved it
Experiencia fantástica: The William Heath Robinson museum is a wonderful place to visit if you are not acquainted with his work, now is your chance to see his brilliance in forms of book illustrations, and of course, his weird but humorous illustrations. There are an abundance of books of his work available. The museum has other exhibitions which are just as intriguing such as A Curious Turn, great fun. The staff are great, lovely people. Not to be missed !!!
Experiencia fantástica: Warm, welcoming and informative, helpful staff. Really lovely wee museum space with a permanent Heath Robinson room and a non permanent exhibition room. Beardsley is showing presently. Plus an activities room. The museum is fairly new 2yrs up and running. Has a toilet for disabled. Museum is on the ground floor and includes a wee shop full of good quality merchandise. Has an amazing ceiling in the exhibition rooms and great lights in the shop. Next door is a really nice cafe and Pinner memorial fountain and park.
Experiencia fantástica: An excellent little museum adjoining an arborialist heavenly park
Experiencia fantástica: Nice place, the museum is very good for kids as well. The outdoors is great also, with many things to do around the museum
Experiencia fantástica: A really nice, informative and polished little museum, set in a beautiful park with a charming café next door. Perfect.
Experiencia fantástica: Loved it
Experiencia fantástica: Small but worth a visit if you like his pictures
Experiencia fantástica: A lovely little museum
Experiencia fantástica: Very nice open outdoor area..with a lovely Resturant..kids play..walk..exercise area ..museum..setting around a pond sorrounded by tge tall , mature tree makes it a very scenic place to spend the day leisurely.
Experiencia fantástica: Lovely little museum and great content.
Experiencia fantástica: Great exhibition
Experiencia positiva: Small museum with a single room on W. Heath Robinson and a second room which has regularly changing exhibits. Gives an interesting introduction to WHR’s life as an artist with some of his later landscape paintings.
Experiencia positiva: Very small museum located in a pleasant park in the centre of Pinner, NW London, a short walk from the station, dedicated to the artist William Heath Robinson. It tells of his career and has original art works, both humorous drawings and landscape paintings in one room. Alongside is another room used for temporary exhibitions. Friendly staff. Cafe located in adjacent building. Note: it is currently only open Thursday-Sunday, 11:00 am-4:00 pm.
Experiencia negativa: Not been or visited for years.
Sorry to receive this note Amanda. The Heath Robinson Museum has been rebuilt to include a gift shop and 2 gallerys overlooking Pinner Park. With our new team, we aim to please. If there is any way we may be able to assist you, please don't hesitate to call us at 02088668420. Heath Robinson's Team
Experiencia positiva: It was titled ''Beardsley generation' but there were just 5 drawings by Beardsley which was disappointing.
The exhibition is of work by the "Beardsley Generation" and shows work by 19 artists of that generation, looking at what inspired them. Although Aubrey Beardsley’s work is the most numerous, with six drawings and four book illustrations or magazine designs we also show work by Charles Ricketts, Laurence Housman and the Robinson brothers amongst others. The exhibition is designed to show the context in which Beardsley and his peers produced their amazing drawings.
Experiencia positiva: Cracking little museum. Only a couple of rooms but lots to see. A brilliant introduction to the work of Heath Robinson and definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!
Experiencia positiva: OK. Could use better lighting and display where it's easier to see. But fascinating all the same. Some great souvenirs.
Experiencia positiva: Very interesting
Experiencia positiva: Exhibit labelling difficult to follow & ironically the mechanical exhibits don't work.
Experiencia positiva: Delightful modern museum. Although small, it displays all different aspects of Heath Robinson's life and work, as well as the breadth of his imagination and humour. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Experiencia positiva: It was very interesting but I was disappointed that only one gallery was open. A new exhibition was opening the following day in the other gallery. We visited around 11am and I'd have thought they would have done the changeover after the museum closed later in the afternoon.
Judy Thank you for your 4 star review and glad that you found the museum interesting despite your visit coinciding with one of our four change over periods per year. Unfortunately the taking down of one exhibition and the installation of the next is a complicated and time consuming exercise which cannot be completed overnight or even within two/three days. We stay open during this period as our permanent Heath Robinson exhibition remains fully open and accessible. However, to compensate visitors during this period we offer half price entry, which is offered upon arrival. Our special exhibition schedule is published on our website and on all publicity material. The new exhibition is "Heath Robinson's Home Life" - a wonderful display of his satirical cartoons and art work from "How to Live in a Flat" and his "Ideal Home" series - which runs until 17th Feb 2019 and we hope you can come again to see it.
Experiencia positiva: Lovely, quietly, delightful. A great cafe for lunch or a cup of tea. Many key exhibits are placed so that a child or wheelchair user can enjoy them but I found the height frustrating.
Experiencia positiva: Lovely range of sketches to view with the automaton exhibition linking nicely.
Experiencia positiva: intetesting in as much as i loved the exhibotion currently showing of mechanical automata. museum itself is one room quite small with a narrative time line of W Heath Robinson's life and a number of original illustrations. Expensive at £6. Nice gift shop with original work by artists in jewellery wood turning and glass. Sits in a small park with a duck pond and fountain which was obviously well loved and used by local families who were there picnicking. Reasonable cafe Daisys which has lots of outdoor seating
Experiencia fantástica: Very interesting place to visit. There's also an aviary with canaries in it, just outside the museum.
Experiencia fantástica: Love the lil museum....so glad to see a proper place dedicated to this amazing artist....must see for all fans of caricature & art in general.....extremely witty & fun to see his work....
Experiencia fantástica: Lovely space, with nice outdoor space too in the centre of pinner
Experiencia fantástica: Lovely local spot. Good activities for kids.
Experiencia fantástica: Very interesting place to visit if your in the area ,somewhere in the back of your mind you will have seen a cartoon by him at some point in your life, and although he preferred to be remembered as a serious artist it will be his humour we will always remember, good afternoon out and a coffee shop next door as well
Experiencia fantástica: Great find, excellent display of the man's work with enthusiastic volunteers running the place. Turned out I was at Skool with one of them! Set in parkland with a busy/good cafe next door. An easy walk from the Tube Station, Pinner, through the park.
Experiencia fantástica: Small but perfectly formed. Two large rooms, as much about the man as about his work. Very interesting in many ways. Just nearby in the same park there is a small visibly-independent café which makes a change from the usual mass-catered places.
Experiencia positiva: Informative and friendly
Experiencia positiva: Lovely exhibition of Heath Robinson's career path with some classic originals. You can see his huge talent right from the beginning. An unexpected treat for a park to offer.
