Experiencia positiva: Joined a history group visit here, arranged in the evening specifically for our group. We were made extremely welcome, with several volunteers giving up their evening for us. In addition to the many carts, prams, wheelchairs and other items on display, we were given coffee and cake. There is much more to see than initially meets the eye, with several different barns, sheds, portacabin and outside areas. Filled with an eclectic collection, many handcarts but also many old items from time gone by. Volunteers are helpful and keen to share their knowledge. There is some information about the various collections, but there could do with more about individual items, many had no dates or history, which would have made this collection much more interesting. Plans are to extend, and more volunteers are welcome (to research if interested). Open to the public on Thurs and Sat's, but other dates can be arranged. Parking available in a small area behind the museum. Admission is by donation. Def worth a visit.
Experiencia fantástica: This is one of the wonderful museum that is run with great passion by a descendant of its original curator. The lady who showed us around had so much passion and delight in the collection. It was infectious. The lady was wonderfully engaging with our 4-year-old son who wanted to see and touch everything. We were invited to do some art in the garden. We were even invited to pick fresh plums from the garden which were delicious. This is a true gem of a place And the passion and love that is going to making the place is clear to be seen!
Experiencia positiva: Just happened to be passing on a weekday (Thursday) when they were open. We had an accompanied guided tour with a lady who was able to give us a lot of background info to the items displayed and explain the history, and future intentions of the museum, which basically covers any wheeled items that can be pushed.
