Experiencia fantástica: Love Stratford and have been to Mary Arden's working farm often pre Covid. Was fabulous to be able to visit again and enjoyed doing all the activities offered including weaving, archery, colouring fun and listening to Shakespearen stories. Also took a tour of the farmhouse given by a lovely lady called Katie in period costume. She had so much knowledge and was genuinely passionate about the history of the farm. Really friendly, bubbly and able to answer all questions asked of her. An amazing day. Can't wait to visit again. Thank you.

Experiencia fantástica: Super interesting to visit. Shakespeare fan or not, this farm will add a new chapter to your knowledge about old times life activities.

Britannia Kingdom 5 years ago

Experiencia fantástica: The childhood home of Shakespeare's mother. Today you can experience all the sights, sounds and smells of a working Tudor farm, just as it would have been when Shakespeare was a boy. Watch "Tudors" go about their daily routine, see rare breed animals and explore nature trails.

Experiencia fantástica: This place was a pleasant surprise. As a working Tudor farm there was no shortage of things to see and do. From the numerous types of livestock on the grounds to seeing what life was like in the time of Shakespeare, it was all very informative. The falconer demonstration on the lawn was truly fantastic and shouldn’t be missed.

Alex Moore 5 years ago

Experiencia fantástica: Cracking day out particularly if you've already visited one of the other attractions. Well worth the money for entrance into all sites. Definitely the better one to take the kids to, great play area and lots to keep them entertained. I will say though its probably only half a days worth.

Experiencia fantástica: Very interesting day out. On paper you'd think this would be the least interesting of the Shakespeare tour, but it was actually the best! Very enthusiastic and helpful staff who stayed in character and taught us a lot about the period.

Experiencia positiva: A really good fun place to learn about Tudor times. Live demonstrations and animals to see, well worth a visit.

Pri S 5 years ago

Experiencia negativa: We were enjoying our visits until we see wild birds stuck for exhibition in a short cable. You could see how unhappy theur were and some irritated like the eagle. It is ridicoulous that local authorities alliw them to do this with the animals. They should go to jail. My friends and I regret to visit and to leave monry and gift aid for this terrible charity!

Claire Green 5 years ago

Experiencia fantástica: Great day out even though some areas were closed due to the weather. The falconer was brilliant and the restaurant had loads of gluten free options, highly recommend

Experiencia positiva: We went along here in the tour of the historical sites around Stratford. It was a lovely place with a great scenery. We did buy some animal feed when we got there expecting to be able to feed the animals. There were only 2 goats to feed in the entire place. It's a good place to visit for around an hour. Would we visit again? Probably not.

Stacy Louisa Bryant 6 years ago

Experiencia fantástica: Had a fab day out , really informative and and the kids loved feeding the animals , also a lovely walk around on a nice day with demonstrations from farm workers and a falconer, I would definitely go again !

Experiencia fantástica: What a fantastic and educational place to visit, it really is a step into the past. Even if you dont know much about the Tudor period the very knowledgeable and well dressed staff who acted in period costume, ways and verse brought the Tudor period back to life. Along with an Archery education/demonstrate/ have a go, the birds of prey on show that are displayed and do display, the farm animals, the Tudor carving, writing, embroidery and basket making ,it all adds up to an enjoyable day. We will certainly be back. My wife and I cant thank everyone there enough for making our visit so enjoyable. Cheers.

Experiencia fantástica: Great day out. Staff in period dress and working on the farm. I had a go at spinning wool, I'm not a natural! Unusual varieties of farm animals. Watching the midday meal (food looked excellent) with questions being prompted and answered was fascinating. I now know where the phrase 'chairman of the board' originated and why elbows should be kept off the table.

Daphne Urso 6 years ago

Experiencia fantástica: We had so much fun here. The workers on the farm were full of kbowledge. Loved the animals and the new born piglets.

Tom Long 6 years ago

Experiencia fantástica: This is an ideal place to spend half a day with kids. There lots of animals and a playground for them, plus lots of great historical sites and information for kids and adults. It is included on the multi site Shakespeare tickets. Those tickets last for a year so are a great value. There is an adequate cafeteria. There are lots of activities and tours.

Experiencia fantástica: Great place to visit, it's like a working farm, you can watch the women prepare the food, then they sit and you can watch them eat it as they discuss the proper manners of the times

Hannah Early 6 years ago

Experiencia fantástica: Brilliant! Cannot rate the farm high enough! It was a very educational and fun walk back in time. The staff/volunteers are incredibly knowledgeable and the day is packed with a fun itinerary. Ideal for families with children with loads of friendly animals, places to wash hands and picnic areas. Well worth the ticket price but I would personally recommend buying online to save 10% and buy and annual pass which includes Shakespeare's birthplace, Shakespeare's new place, halls croft, Anne Hathaway's cottage and Mary Arden farm.

Experiencia fantástica: We had a brilliant time here. The staff in their medieval costumes were fantastic. There is so much to take in. The Falconry display was excellent. Some people made comments about the cafe food so we took our own. However looking at the menu we wished we had eaten there.

Experiencia fantástica: Great place for a trip out. Out of the Shakespeare locations this is definitely the child centric one but still interesting to be in and around! The staff are all very knowledgeable on the subject and clearly enjoy working there which makes for a lovely environment. They do also have activities on occasion such as story telling and flower garland making so definitely check them out if you go!

Experiencia fantástica: Fantastic place to take the kids. Buy a ticket for all Shakespeare's houses and you can go as many times as you like. The place is beautifully restored and has lots of people in period dress to tell you about the history. The animals are very accessible and friendly with plenty of places to wash your hands. The food in the restaurant was excellent and reasonably priced and with good veggie options. The kids particularly liked the archery and the excellent falconry display. Will definitely go again. Highly recommended.

Experiencia fantástica: Shakespeare's mother's farm where staff are dressed in period costumes and demonstrating working practices of the time. When we visited groups of schoolchildren were being taught about various topics, they also were allowed to dress in period costumes and took part in hands on sessions which the staff were making great fun

Grumpy64 6 years ago

Experiencia fantástica: An excellent day out. Lots of activities and the Falconer was great entertainment with the birds landing on your table. The house is virtually as it would have been in Mary Arden's day so very authentic and the actors in period costume were very informative. The open top bus stops here so easy to get to if visiting Stratford.

Megan Wang 6 years ago

Experiencia fantástica: Great place to visit very kid friendly (but also good for adults too - went without kids) this is grouped together with the other Shakespeare attractions in the area so if you are going to another attraction then I would buy a multiple attraction ticket (you can get a ticket for all 5 Shakespeare things or just 3 but you need to buy it at the tourist info center). The farm was fun make sure to buy the animal food (50p) my favorite part was to go up to the sheep enclosure and shake the bag and all the sheep came running over - you get a lot more than 50p of enjoyment out of it.

Beckey Barton 6 years ago

Experiencia fantástica: A wonderful place to step back into Tudor times and experience how life would have been lived. It really is a working Tudor farm! I especially love watching them prepare and eat dinner, and the falconry display. Perfect day out for every age.

Ričardas Lukoševičius 6 years ago

Experiencia negativa: I did enjoy the farm and farmers acting, but i was really sad when i saw that all birds of prey were tied to a pole with 10inch leash. Please fix this. Its not natural for them to be confines in 1sqm area. Thumbs down

Christine Harrison 6 years ago

Experiencia fantástica: Absolutely superb, we went as adults, do not miss, falconry superb, cooking and meal demonstration excellent. Superb value as one of the five Shakespeare houses

Ed Painter 6 years ago

Experiencia positiva: A fantastic insight into the farming lives of the Tudor era. Great for young kids with the farm animals and daily events. Tudor lunch was really interesting. As with all the Shakespeare/tudor locations it is a little expensive by itself but when bought with a ticket for every location it's certainly worth a 2-3 hour visit.

Mark Ellis 6 years ago

Experiencia fantástica: For families with young kids, the annual pass for this farm is amazing value. It has great falconry shows, a playground (really for 5+), farm animals, a fun willow tunnel and fields to run in, crafts, cafe and places to picnic. The staff are friendly and fun playing different characters. Runs a few events; last Sunday they had a real 'unicorn' for their Midsummer Madness, plus puppet shows. Not much to see in the buildings, it is an outdoor venue really. Fantastic for a Sunday afternoon for a young family, not too busy. The pass also gets you into some other historic Stratford sites but this is the one we revisit regularly.

Paul Wooldridge 6 years ago

Experiencia fantástica: Great day out and the falconry display was fantastic, worth the admission price on it's own.

Sonia Manno 6 years ago

Experiencia positiva: I absolutely loved this place. Lots of history and animals to see. It's perfect for kids and all the staff is funny and helpful. I spent there about an hour, but better stay a bit more

Jonathan Broughton 6 years ago

Experiencia fantástica: This Tudor farm, home to William Shakespeare's mother, retains its fascinating authenticity with reenactments and demonstrations. Lots of farm animals and friendly and helpful staff, dressed in Tudor costume, brings olde world daily life into our lives in an informative and entertaining way.

Experiencia positiva: Our first visit and we will be back. Beautiful setting. We will bring a picnic next time though as the food on offer is limited and pricey.

Peter Buckley 6 years ago

Experiencia fantástica: This was our 2nd visit to this amazing place. What can I say, its a wonderful experience its like entering a different age in our history. So clearly explained to us as we were taken on a tour by one so we'll informed guide. It's like time travel. Move over Dr Who.!

Ann Cronley 6 years ago

Experiencia fantástica: Watching the Tudor actors having lunch was so interesting. Lots of Tudor history facts in books are not true!

Experiencia fantástica: Excellent with something to make everybody happy. Effort has been made to inform and reproduce time as it was. Best part of the five major interests associated with Shakespeare, and great value at £21 for the five (oap). Well worth a visit.

Experiencia fantástica: Briliant, lots to see & do for all ages, costumed staff, lovely setting & over all very pleasant, fun & historical place to visit. Loved it.

Graham Edwards 6 years ago

Experiencia positiva: Very good lots of things to see, but find all of the fields and willow tunnel.

Helen Bonnar 6 years ago

Experiencia positiva: Really really nice place but let down by the staff not knowing how to get my double buggy with my sleeping twins in the entrance . I ended up with two toddlers having their naps cut short because they wouldn't offer me an alternative entrance that the buggy could actually get through. Also, I'm hoping the animals get some time in the fields. The donkeys and a mother cow with its calf as well as a horse were in a small pen.

Paul Clark 6 years ago

Experiencia fantástica: We have always enjoyed our trips to Mary Ardens farm. We buy a pass every year. It's a lovely place, staff are friendly and interesting, facilities are good. My toddler loves feeding the animals.

Laura Carvalho 6 years ago

Experiencia negativa: Honestly I didnt like the fact that they have caged animals - to be more specific the birds. They even put a sign saying that the birs are there at their free will and that they are allowed to fly everyday and they are the ones they choose to return, which I don't believe because then why have them chain in their cages? Also they have an owl which is receiving light all day, which makes him blind. I am sorry but this is animal cruelty. I get that you have other farm animals, but chaining the birds is just a little too much to handle. And honestly The actual house is not anything special. I would recommend much more Ann's Hathaway Cottage that this farm.

Patrick Gunn 6 years ago

Experiencia positiva: A very fun and educational experience. The family thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it!

Experiencia fantástica: A great place to visit regardless of your interest, it's not just about Shakespeare. It's all about how we used to live in Shakespeare's times. It like a working Tudor farm with lots of displays and re-enactments. There are walks, places to picnic and a great cafe. The staff are so friendly and helpful.

Bogdan Boranescu 6 years ago

Experiencia fantástica: It's not just a farm and that's most because they have a very proffesional staff. They wear traditional clothes witch it's very nice.

David Harrison 6 years ago

Experiencia positiva: The farm echoes back to the days of Tudors, with activities dotted around the farm. The staff are wonderful, they are very enthusiastic and a real wealth of knowledge. Its a great place to bring kids, as there are plenty of activities that they'll enjoy as well as hopefully find interesting; the farm is not just for kids though, there is plenty that adults can get from the experience, especially if you're willing to ask questions.
