Experiencia positiva: Sad that the Museum site is going to be developed. This week is your last chance to visit this iconic Benskin's building before it moves to a new home. On Saturday 7th October from 12-1pm it will be the venue for Watford Writers as part of the Watford Fringe Arts Festival. You will be able to hear and meet local writers reading their short stories and poetry. It will be one of the last events ever held in this historical building. Museum entrance is free. Tickets for the reading on 7th October can be bought online or at the door for £4.00.

Experiencia fantástica: What a brilliant place! We visited to do some research and were greeted with a reviving cuppa from a lovely lady. Sarah Priestly and Mary Forsyth couldn't have been more helpfull. I just can't recommend the Museum and the Staff highly enough. Thank you all!

Experiencia positiva: Great local museum. We have just moved to town and this was a friendly place. Only problem the council are moving them from this beautiful building into some rooms near the town hall, a much smaller space. I think this will be a loss to the town

Experiencia positiva: Held Watford Writers 18th anniversary there. Beautiful Georgian house, once home to the original owners of Benskins Brewery. Museum has farming and brewing artefacts and some history of Watford as well as an art gallery including works linked to the Cassio Estate. Museum is moving out of the grade 2 listed building to larger premises at the town hall.

Experiencia positiva: Good place to visit, a lot about Watford history and a few fossils and nice paintings. Entry is free and located just beside the high street railway station.

Experiencia positiva: Look if you have recently moved here or live here and want to know the history of Watford then this is the place for you. Shame that Cassiobury House had to be demolished along with those gates. You'll find all sorts of interesting facts and a whole assortment of memorabilia on this great town. I hear the museum will be moving soon to a different location, town hall. Anyhow it's free, I would recommend it for a visit.

Experiencia positiva: Small museum, lots of history of watford...only visited a function organised by Watford Council...haven't looked around the museum for some years....possibly 15 years or more! I Don't know if there are lifts or accessible for disabled...there is a ramp atcthe entrance.

Experiencia fantástica: Really enjoyed the WFC "100 Years at The Vic" exhibition, well curated, lots of interesting content. All the other general local history exhibits were well worth a look too.

Experiencia fantástica: I'm Watford born and bred so i declare an interest. Nevertheless, i can vouch for a lovingly tended set of artefacts. The town's history of printing and brewing is featured, as is the phenomenon that is Watford FC. Great venue with motivated and enthusiastic staff.

Experiencia positiva: The Watford Museum is a mirror of the city’s history and their citizens in the last two centuries of contemporary English history. We can discover trace elements about the Paleolithic tribes in the local, the Iron Age, Roman Britain, until the Victorian Era and the 20th century and the development of the new technologies and transports. Of all the collection, the opening gallery about the participation of England and Watford citizens in WWI and WWII, was the highlight of the visit. A space that ethnographically caricatures Watford City.

Experiencia positiva: It was interesting to visit. Lots of rooms and loads to see, perhaps too much. Also modern information on Watford FC. The only room with paintings was very disappointing - looked more like a large storeroom. There was a good collage exhibition from the Watford Recycling Arts Project and the small pop up tearoom (1st Saturday monthly) with home-made cakes was a really good idea.

Experiencia negativa: If you want a trip back in time this is the place. The exhibits are really good quality and the museum itself looks like it's not changed since the 1970s. The staff were friendly and helpful too. Just not a lot here.

Experiencia fantástica: Visited the fire museum section which is across the road behind the fire station. This was on an open day so there were a range of both vintage and modern fire engines on display. Inside the museum building there were displays of equipment, uniforms and photos of incidents attended by the brigade. Well worth a visit.

Experiencia positiva: Some interesting objects of Watford memorabilia but the place is looking rather tired. As a Watford resident it brought back memories, but for anyone that wasn't it would be difficult to piece together the story an changed over time. It is free so I suppose I shouldn't expect too much.

Experiencia positiva: A small, but highly informative, museum that shows quite a lot of Watford's history. Housed in the old Benskins Brewery building, the museum is set across two floors. Artefacts include the history of the Football Club, its printing history, archaeology, how it copied during the war years, its brewing history and Cassiobury House. Plus, there are art exhibitions and exhibitions from varying groups from the local area.

Experiencia negativa: Not the grandest museum in the world. When you do not have anything else to do on a lazy afternoon this is a nice place to go, if you're in watford.

Experiencia positiva: Located near Watford high street station at the top endbof town. It has alot of the history of watford from the roman times to the printing town. Recently i went to a Graham Taylor exhibition.

Experiencia fantástica: Watford Museum building is part of the old Benskins Brewery where in the 1970's the Professionals were filmed. As a museum, Singer and one time Chairman of Watford FC Sir Elton John housed his personal collection including football memorabilia.
