Lots of rooms and exhibits to look at (and the model railway shed was open too) for a good few hours. Had a ride in an army jeep, a very interesting air raid bunker experience and saw the Mustangs playing. The cafe sells coffee and cake which we really enjoyed. What really makes this place is the volunteers who run it. As it was the last opening before Christmas, Father Christmas was there and gave our boys a gift. We must give a very special shout out to the elf who we chatted to, he was the highlight of our day. Thank you.

Experiencia fantástica: It WAS like being back in the 40s, apart from the Germans and Japanese weren't trying to kill me. Oh; and there wasn't a Yank on the wife. Great fun. The place, that is, not the wife....

Experiencia positiva: A true experience of a 1940's house, a 1950's house, museum of the second world war, a blitz experience from a dedicated group of volunteers.

Experiencia positiva: A cheap day out which was definitely worth the entrance fee, only £3 for seniors. Lots to see for that and all authentic. Nice to see the young volunteers getting involved too and all dressed in items of the day. Fabulous collections of 40s and 50s things, brings back lots of memories. Cafe could have served a bit more other than a cheese sarny, crisps, kit kats and tea and coffee and definitely needed more staff as sarnys made while you wait so long queues but all in all a very nice day out.

Experiencia fantástica: Amazing value for £5. Run mainly by volunteers. You can touch many of the exhibits. Gifts shop does not rip you off. The cafe serves simple, but a tasty food, cost £3.70 for 2 drinks a sausage roll and a cake. Had the resident band the Mustangs playing. They were brilliant, playing 50s and 60s music. I only meant to stay for one song stayed for 10 and had to cut my vist short! Great place will go again.

Experiencia positiva: Immersive and great for kids learning about the 40's. Staff were knowledgeable, friendly and fun and there's lots to see. The site however needs some TLC. It's pretty rough around the edges with crumbling buildings and holey roofs.

Run by really engaging, enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers. kids and adults can pick up and touch all the exhibits which is unusual. The NAAFI cafe is inexpensive. Does residential for school groups. Well worth a visit... or two.
