Experiencia fantástica: Un museo excelente que tiene una extraordinaria variedad de artefactos, objetos cotidianos y documentos. Las exposiciones muestran el papel a lo largo del tiempo y la presencia de judíos en Basilea. Me gustó mucho, como persona no judía, me brindó un viaje interesante a través de la historia y la cultura judía en Basilea.

Experiencia positiva: Interessantes Museum, welches wir zum 30. Geburtstag eines Kumpels besuchten. Hatte zuvor noch nie eine Tora und auch noch nie eine FCZ-Kippa gesehen. Jetzt weiss ich auch, warum die orthodoxen Habibis immer nach Davos pilgern Sehr aufschlussreich.

Experiencia fantástica: Großartig. Führung mit Roger Harmon. So eindrucksvoll mit all den jüdischen Grabsteinen! Sehr empfehlenswert!

Experiencia positiva: Bitte mehr Informationen über die Geschichte und das Ausmass der Judenverfolgung. Sie gehen davon aus, dass alle Besucher davon wissen. Es fehlte die Information über die verschiedenen Ausrichtungen des gelebten Glaubens, liberal, orthodox. Der Audioguide war ansprechend. Die Museumsangestellten waren nett und hilfsbereit. Beim neuen Museum hat es dann hoffentlich eine angemessene Garderobe. Die Café-Ecke mit Bibliothek hat mir gut gefallen.

Experiencia negativa: I did not enjoy the museum it wasn't comprehensive didn't go through the last 500 years of Jewish history was very small and was not worth the money. I didn't like the content of the exhibition and I especially didn't like the fact that there was no history about the Jews during world war II which I thought was an important component being that Switzerland was neutral. I was unimpressed that museum needs to be revamped or at least curated by Jews that are competent. I don't think the curator is Jewish and I think that the exhibition was totally lame talked about Jewish ritual and showed menorahs. That museum needs a lot of work and I would not advise I need you to go to it because it wasn't really pertinent to our history.

Experiencia positiva: Kleines Museum, nicht schlecht gemacht, aber kaum besondere Objekte. Viel aus dem 19. Jahrhundert. Gute Erklärung des Judentums und seiner Kultur. Eintritt für das, was es bietet, zu teuer. Security steht in provokativer Manier an der Straße, das ist einer Kulturinstitution unwürdig, das könnte man besser lösen.

Experiencia fantástica: Small museum (only two rooms). Gives more of a brief explanation of Judaism rather than the history of Jews in Switzerland. Would have loved to see more of that but what it did provide was excellent and well explained. Staff was so kind and welcoming!

Experiencia fantástica: Im kleinen Hof im Eingangsbereich, stehen einige Fragmente von hebräisch beschrifteten Grabsteinen, die als Baumaterial für die Stadtmauer verwendet worden waren. Sehr eindrücklich.

Experiencia positiva: Kleines aber feines Museum, das einem die bewegte Geschichte der Juden in Basel näher bringt. Spannende Exponate. Ausgezeichneter Audio/Filmguide, der im Eintrittspreis inbegriffen ist.

Experiencia positiva: C'est certes un petit musée (trois pièces seulement), mais il est très intéressant. Dans le tarif d'entrée est inclus le prêt d'une tablette et d'un casque audio, sur laquelle plusieurs intervenants dont une jeune fille vous délivrent de précieuses informations. (durée totale 54 minutes). J'ai beaucoup apprécié ma visite. Shalom.

Experiencia fantástica: Auch ich als Geschichts Laie fand die Ausstellung super interessant und sehr gut aufbereitet. Eintritt gilt auch für eine weitere Ausstellung, die ebenfalls sehr informativ und sehr anschaulich gestaltet ist. Der Audio Guide mit kurzen Geschichten und Erklärungen gibt eine persönliche Einsichtnahme. Gerne wieder!

Experiencia negativa: Racism Racism Racism The second we went there, not even next to the door, a man came to us said he was the security (he didnt look like it not professional at all) and asked private questions just because we are arab looking He asked 1. Why are u here 2. How did u hear about it 3. How long r u staying in basel 4. Where r you from Then he took our ID and went inside and closed the door of the museum behind him He has no right to take our IDs without us He left us outside while he made phonecalls inside for almost 10 minutes Then i knocked the door and took my ID Wasted 30 min of my time i do not recommend anyone especially arabs to go there because racism is unbearable We were here on our honeymoon and we just wanted to go see a museum like every other museum!! I didnt know there was racism with jews until now !

Experiencia fantástica: Very educational place, full of reflection, it taught me a lot about thing that dont exist anymore. Its a pity they dont have more exhibits on display. My second pity is that my battery in camera was dead and I wasnt able to take any snapshots.

Experiencia fantástica: Einfach erreichbar, angenehmer Zugang über den eindrücklichen Vorhof. Einfach und schön gestaltete Räume, mit guter Ausstattung und Übersicht. Der Führer, mit Sprache und Bild ist gut gemacht, mit den vier Personen, die ihre Erklärungen gut gesprochen und klar verständlich darlegen. Das Mädchen wirkt erfrischend, an einem heißen Nachmittag! Sehr gut gestaltet ist die Ecke über den Zionismus und den NS. Kompliment dafür, wie das berüchtigte J geschildert und erklärt wird! Un bijou!

Experiencia fantástica: Cute museum. I ended up spending a lot of time in the library, where there are shelves full of beautiful books. You can also sit in the yard and enjoy a cup of coffee. The photography exhibit in the gallery on Petersgraben was particularly memorable.

Experiencia fantástica: The main museum is hidden, but the entrance is well marked. A courtyard with large pictures by a young Israeli painter and tombstones of the Basel Jewish cemetery from the Middle Ages leads into the premises. Many impressive objects from the region, including a ring from the 4th century with Jewish motifs. Exciting! We didn’t have time for the Galerie am Petersgraben, which was a pity.

Experiencia fantástica: The museum is small but special! The permanent exhibition provides interesting insights into Jewish life and holidays as well as the history of the Jews in Switzerland. The reception was extremely friendly, which is always nice, especially in a small museum. There is a video guide, which I highly recommend. A must see in Basel!

Experiencia positiva: First of all I have to mention one positive thing - it is a very cosy and nice museum, BUT here comes a long list of cons: 1. It is tiny(3 rooms) 2. Most of the items have close to none info about them except for 2-3 words description. 3. It is branded as "museum of Switzerland" but I didn't see how this can be a national museum describing the history of jews in only 3 rooms. Sorry.

Experiencia positiva: It is a bit small but, really worthy. With the same ticket you can get into the gallery. The woman at the counter, extremely professional( thank you very much for your help). Take the free audio guide, it gives you some explanations about Jew culture. Don't hesitate to visit it. Really recommendable.

Experiencia fantástica: Klein, aber fein. Die ausgewählten Stücke sind sehr interessant und deshalb lohnt zwischendurch ein Besuch im Jüdischen Museum immer wieder. Auch die Location ist sehr gut aufgemacht.
