Experiencia fantástica: Altamente educativo y bien estructurado.
Experiencia fantástica: MUST-SEE IN VIENNA Everyone needs to go to a Jewish Museum in their lifetime. They are incredibly educational for anyone interested in learning about history and how it applies to the current day. In this particular museum, you explore the relationship between Vienna and Judaism. There is a long and interesting history that binds these two together. It is affordable to go in and worth every moment of time spent inside. The gift shop is lack-luster, but I didn’t go looking for souvenirs.
Experiencia fantástica: Good tribute to tough times
Experiencia fantástica: One of my favorite museums.
Experiencia fantástica: I like to read about the WW2 and Auschwitz and this was a fascinating place to visit. There are items and information before the Holocaust and after, how the jewish community was seen then and how it is seen nowadays.
Experiencia fantástica: Amazing amount of information and relics regarding Jewish history through the war. Well worth a trip. Also the ticket allows entry to both museums which are roughly 10 minutes walk from each other.
Experiencia fantástica: I just went to eat, the restaurant has a good price and they serve kosher, gluten free and lots of vegan options!
Experiencia fantástica: Get the tote if you like juice
Experiencia fantástica: Must visit place in Vienna
Experiencia positiva: Interesting museum Not very hands on Alot of reading
Experiencia fantástica: The place to learn about key role Jews played in the history of Vienna and the tragic end of the once vibrant community
Experiencia fantástica: Very interesting and informative Well presented and the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful
Experiencia fantástica: Interesting exhibits that showcase Jewish life and experience in Vienna. I found the museum very thought provoking.
Experiencia fantástica: Nice staff. Good prices. Three parts of the museum exists(including the library). Many of the information is available without audioguide/guide.
Experiencia fantástica: Jewish Museum After a comprehensive renovation, the Jewish Museum in Dorotheergasse presents itself with a newly oriented display depot and, since November 2013, also with a new permanent exhibition. Since its reopening in October 2011, the Jewish Museum in Palais Eskeles has welcomed its visitors with a light installation by the artist Brigitte Kowanz on the façade and a spacious entrance area that has been faithfully restored to its original state. The permanent exhibitions in the Jewish Museum are divided into three areas: The newly arranged Schaudepot presents collections and the collector personalities behind them, such as Max Berger. The Atelier is both a workshop and an exhibition space for everyday ritual objects. Since November 2013, the new permanent exhibition "Our City!" has provided a comprehensive insight into Jewish life, the history of Jewish Vienna and leads from the present to the past. The journey begins on the ground floor with the years from 1945 to the present. On the second floor of Palais Eskeles, visitors experience Jewish history from its beginnings to the years 1938/1945. A 3D animation makes Vienna's synagogues, which were destroyed in 1938, virtually accessible.
Experiencia fantástica: Fantastic exhibition about one of the most important 20th century legal philosopher!!!!
Experiencia fantástica: Deserves 5 stars. Very calm place. Good enough for scholars and tourists who are interested in the Jewish history. The cashier was very friendly and also spoke english. The exhibits were neatly arranged. Free and fast Wi-Fi available
Experiencia fantástica: My visit to this museum was very very good. The exhibitions are well done and portray a thorough picture of jewish life in Vienna throughout the centuries - from the middle ages until the post WWII period. Everything that us shown is explained both in German and in English and in a way that is easy to understand. All COVID related safety measures worked well and hand sanitizers are available at every entrance and throughout the exhibitions. The museum is also barrier-free and spacious enough for people that require wheelchairs or other. Overall, an excellent experience.
Experiencia fantástica: We only stopped at the cafe for lunch. They are a meat free restaurant with several vegan options. Their daily menu is really good value.
Experiencia fantástica: Incredibly well curated, carefully archived and researched. The exhibitions about the past, culture and all the aspects are presented in a way that everyone, history buffs, nonexperts, young and old alike, may find something fascinating, illuminating and memorable at the museum.
Experiencia fantástica: We visited this museum to see the Arik Brauer exhibition. It was a fascinating exhibition full joy and yet sometimes harrowing and sad. The ticket price also includes entry to the other museum at judensplatz which is also definitely worth checking out.
Experiencia fantástica: Excellent museum split over three levels, telling the history of Jewish people in Vienna. Very thought provoking choice of objects and art works.
Experiencia fantástica: A great museum about the jewish history of Vienna. I was not aware that Vienna had such a rich jewish history, and this museum taught me a lot about it. Be sure to visit both locations of this museum, both places have something interesting to offer.
Experiencia fantástica: Wonderful staff, clean building, very spacious yet in the middle of town. This was an amazing museum that portrays everything one must know about the ancient and rich jewish culture. Don't forget to go to the cloak room if needed!
Experiencia fantástica: A beautiful museum, depicting the history of the Jewish community in Vienna interestingly. The flow of the exhibitions and the great explanations are very coherent— making it easy to follow through and stay engaged.
Experiencia fantástica: The museum is lovely and full of rare historic artifacts that will enthrall you. But besides the Jewish shop filled with beautiful cook books and hilarious hipster imitations of geniuses and influencers like Albert Einstein, one must visit the cafe Eskeles that is inside. This cafe serves delicious and wholesome vegetarian food based on the Jewish Cuisine that we all love. There is one or two fish dishes available. The cafe serves traditional food with there modern twist and anything I've tried on there menu has been delicious. I highly recommend there sweet potato burger and challenge you to eat it with your hands if you can. There staff is so friendly and there owners are completely hands on.
Experiencia fantástica: One of the finest museums of Vienna. Beyond documenting Jewish life, this museum is a kind of a time machine showing aspects of life in Vienna from the middle ages to the modern times. Very well made regular exhibitions focus on specific aspects and personalities in the history of this city and in a broader sense of Europe.
Experiencia fantástica: I didn't understand all the main stuff cause didn't have an audioguide but they have delicious meal at the cafe))))
Experiencia fantástica: Although I've expected the more about Shoah, I must say that I' ve learned a lot about Jewish community in Vienna over the centuries. Museum has two locations at the city center, both worth visiting. Interactive displays are really worth your time.
Experiencia fantástica: A really interesting & thought provoking musuem. The exhibition & collected installations are beautifully presented & the staff on the ticketing desk went out of their way to explain the finer details & to tell me about the second Jewish museum(which I didn't know about).I ended up spending more time than I'd planned, firstly because the interactive audio guides that 'take you' through the museum are enthralling & secondly, because the skies of Vienna treated us to a torrential downpour,so I stayed & very pleased I did,as the food & beverages in the café tasted as good as they looked !
Experiencia fantástica: Such a needed museum for all generations. Be sure to give yourself enough time to travel across town to the 2nd museum which is covered on your ticket purchase. Came away with an even deeper appreciation for the Jewish community (brothers and sisters in faith and oppression) from generation to generation. The rich yet painful lessons provided here need to be shared- now to prevent history from repeating itself.
Experiencia fantástica: one of the most moving place to visit. shows the history, tragedy and contribution of jewish people to vienna
Experiencia fantástica: It's a great place to learn and study how was the history of this people. It's very good organised and easy to see and understand all the information. If you have time you can spend here hours to complete all the exhibition. Don't miss this place it is full of information.
Experiencia fantástica: Very thorough history, a floor on pre-20th century, and another floor on the past ~60 years. Current exhibition on Arik Brauer is excellent - well curated. Too bad their gift store didn't sell much from the special exhibition. Sad history but important to understand
Experiencia fantástica: Very interesting and beautifully presented museum. Extremely thought-provoking. The shop is full of original and quality gifts / homewares etc. The restaurant is particularly outstanding and reasonably priced, with daily set menus and fresh produce.
Experiencia fantástica: Very nice exhibition of Arik Brauer..Highly recommended
Experiencia fantástica: Fine and intelligent exhibitions, albeit small. The book shop has moved out, instead there's a museum shop that still seems unsure of it self and lacks direction. Nice coffee house available.
Experiencia fantástica: Really interesting museum about the history of Jews in Vienna and Austria. It covers in depth the early medieval history as well as after the Holocaust. It is touching how open they are about Austria’s own complicity. They have great materials about 19th century Jewry in Austria too.
Experiencia fantástica: Exhibitions about Jewish History in Austria are shown on different floors. Nice Shop and Café in the ground floor.
Experiencia fantástica: It's a must see museum. Nothing prepared us for the enormous quantity of Judaica Objects. Most of them were taken from Jewish synagogues all over Austria during the Holocaust. Here on display were the items that weren't melted. I liked the Antique Menorah, the giant Mezuzah and the Hebrew clock. It's a museum you must visit.
Experiencia positiva: The main Jewish museum of Vienna, located in the 1st district. The building architecture wise is really well done. The restaurant serves very tasty kosher food and there is a little museum shop. The exhibitions are expanded in three floors. I saw the exhibition related with the communism which was quite interesting. The rest I didn’t like so much compared to other Jewish museums I have visited. Ticket is 12€ including the visit to the synagogue and to the Jewish institute.
Experiencia fantástica: Very well made little museum. Don't forget to visit the annex, the excavated medieval synagogue on Judenplatz. The bookshop is worth a detour. The café on the other hand, might serve Ok food, but is ruined by a terrible atmosphere, somewhere between a dental surgeons waiting room and a cramped elevator. Back in the days before the renovation, the cafe was quite charming and had very good poppy seed cake and newspapers.
