Experiencia fantástica: Great museum
Experiencia fantástica: 貴重な日本の美術品を拝見しに、年に1、2度伺います。庭園も素敵ですし、講演にも何度か行きました。 年間パスポートが(お安めで)あると良いな、と思います。
Experiencia fantástica:
Experiencia fantástica: Fantastic.
Experiencia positiva: Really fun museum to go through, it doesn't have anything amazing but it's short length and the way it presents everything makes it satisfying and entertaining for that length without ever getting boring. Also if you are a student at Nagoya University you can enter for free! Although the garden is a separate fee.
Experiencia fantástica: Beautiful gardens and lovely atmosphere.
Experiencia fantástica: Even if you are not fan of Tokugawa family, it is worth place to go. They maintain things incredibly in good condition. I was impressed them.
Experiencia fantástica: The Tokugawa Art Museum is a great place to visit because u can see a lot of impressive things and it gives u a a great cold vibes and the design is unbelievable i loved it so much honey wooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww i wish i could come back to the the magnificent of this place again
Experiencia fantástica: They don’t let you take pictures from inside… so only the exterior… sorry. Fairly large museum with exhibitions centered around Tokugawa Ieyasu (a very famous leader from Japanese History) and the daily lives of the wealthy from long ago in Japan. Also, houses original and reproductions of a very famous Japanese story “The Tale of Genji”. Very nicely presented exhibitions and it is extremely peaceful inside as you walk through. They offer some English guidance and pamphlets, but because exhibitions change from time to time some things have no English explanations.
Experiencia fantástica: Always a great historical visit to one of the most influential families in Japan's history. The artifacts change often and special pieces are displayed on a published schedule. Even better are the special seminars and arts and craft workshops. I attending the Clam Shell Painting (貝合わせ) workshop. Informative, educational, enjoyable, and I got to make a painted clam shell in the traditional method. Also learnt how to play the clam shell game and actually played the game.
Experiencia fantástica: The garden is a heaven on earth
Experiencia positiva: It's a pretty lovely museum, it has some great pieces, might be a bit dry in some instances but they're more than made up for. The park is well worth exploring, and there's a little cafe set aside from the main building which does some lovely desserts.
Experiencia fantástica: Beautiful displays and wonderful staff. Very interesting!
Experiencia fantástica: I think this is the second most significant place to visit in Nagoya, after the castle. This place does not disappoint. Highlights are the tea room models and deacriptions.
Experiencia fantástica: Too bad that not everything were completely translated but it is a wonderful place.
Experiencia fantástica: Very good displays of anchient Samuri awards and ceramics. Well worth a visit.
Experiencia fantástica: A well designed museum with outstanding pieces owned by the Tokugawa family. Items from Korea and China as well. The garden is lovely so plan some time for a stroll.
Experiencia fantástica: was sooo wonderful!
Experiencia fantástica: While the museum was good it is the Japanese garden next to it that won my heart with it's quiet serenity and beauty.
Experiencia fantástica: Didn’t go into the museum as we had our dog with us, however, the market outside of the museum was quite interesting!
Experiencia fantástica: It's a private museum, photography is not allowed at most of the sections.
Experiencia fantástica: A must see in Nagoya. An advice, take the time to visit also the garden, is a peaceful oasis in the city
Experiencia fantástica: The exhibition of katana and national treasures of Japan in worth the visit. Also the souvenir shop has many interesting and beautiful things to buy as omiyag
Experiencia fantástica: The garden is stunning - you can easily spend a good hour walking around it. It's really well kept, and you can buy fish food for the koi fish. The museum on the other hand was a bit disappointing. Although the items on display were fascinating, there was close to no information on each piece, just the location and year. This made for a fairly unenjoyable experience, however I do still recommend going.
Experiencia positiva: Took the dual ticket for the garden and museum. The garden was a good stroll. But couldnt stay long because itbwas bare of cafes and amenities. The museum showcased historical pieces that you would otherwise have seen in other places. Suggest to only take this if you havent been to the main museums in tokyo osaka kyoto. They offered free tours but were in japanese so unless youre a foreigner whose watched enough unsubtitled anime you will not make the most of it
Experiencia fantástica: When I was here the illustrations and artwork was fantastic. This is a must see in Nagoya. From arguably the best period of Japanese history you get a great glimpse into the life and culture of a Samurai. Love the swords, nice to be able to get so close to them and the other works of art. The grounds are a good place for a walk.
Experiencia fantástica: Very nice small museum which displays Owari Tokugawa's treasure in Edo era. Owari Tokugawa was the second highest and powerful Samurai clan in Edo.
Experiencia fantástica: Gorgeous ancient history exhibits worth the visit. Later modern exhibits easily out-gunned by Tokyo museums.
Experiencia fantástica: Was given an impromptu personal 2 hour tour of the whole building. Amazing experience would recommend if you want to learn about how the Samurai and the Royal family lived. Goes into great depth on things like how they drank tea and what kinds of tea and things like incense and how it contributed to the tale of genji. Super cool.
Experiencia fantástica: Awesome nutshell with lots of samurai interesting stuff. I wish I could read Japanese, I'm sure I would have got a lot more out of it. The gardens around are marvelous
Experiencia fantástica: Excellent museum with very interesting exhibits, and a wonderful garden
Experiencia fantástica: This art museum is unique among similar museums in Japan because it owned and operated by the House of Owari Tokugawa, one of three households owned by Tokugawa Ieyasu. The current director and curator is Yoshitaka Tokugawa. The collection includes many artefacts, artworks, priceless swords, and household heirlooms many of which are designated Japanese national treasures. The collection includes many items that have never been displayed publicly. Some of these become part of special exhibitions each year. It is best to do some reading about the collection beforehand to get the most out of the exhibitions. The English language resources are ok but don't do the museum justice.
Experiencia fantástica: Very impressive collection, beautiful garden surrounding, peaceful place..
Experiencia fantástica: Very cool place with many aspects of Japanese culture on display. Would have been nicer if you could take pictures but it is understandable.
