Experiencia fantástica: There are some spectacular examples of modern Japanese art. It clashes with traditional understandings of Japanese art. But does so in a impressive manner.

Experiencia fantástica: A magnificent museum, the building is clearly made to store and appreciate art. The collection is very impressive and you can find famous works by Miro and Calder right when you enter the main section. They also have photographs by sugimoto and they hold special exhibitions every now and then. You can check the website for information and get your tickets in the counter by the entrance or get a day pass for other museums

Experiencia fantástica: On my last night in Japan, I visited the National Museum of Art, Osaka. NMAO’s eye-catching glass and steel structure reminded me of a dinosaur skeleton. I only got to spend a little over an hour, but I was glad I came because I thoroughly enjoyed the works in the current exhibitions. One was called "Vienna on the Path to Modernism." It had works by, among others, Klimt and Schiele. The second was called "NMAO collection with Alberto Giacometti II." It contained, surprisingly, a bunch of well-known contemporary artists, but the works of Julian Opie, Luc Tuymans, and Georg Baselitz really did it for me.

Experiencia fantástica: Was a solemn experience looking at some of the very confronting and impactful art in Osaka. The rainy weather added to the mood. There were live art installations that were very curious. Definitely recommend.

Experiencia fantástica: We visited the permanent exhibit and were surprised to find some well-known art there. Reasonable ticket too. Loved the architecture of the building.

Experiencia fantástica: An excellent museum and free entry for select University campus members, but even full ticket price is worth the visit or two! Staff are very helpful and all exhibitions appear to be quad-lingual, so can be enjoyed by most of the public.

Experiencia positiva: What I love this museum is the way they can connect the Japanese artists or culture to the art of the world, e.g.the current exhibition on Giacometti and his encounter with a Japanese philosopher en visite to Paris. And foreign students can also enjoy a discount! The restaurant inside offers good quality Western food at a reasonable price, the most set being 1500yen.

Experiencia fantástica: Exterior architecture of this museum is very unique in addition to it being underground. Great permanent collection and an interesting exhibition on hand during my visit. Definitely worth a visit if you have an hour or two to spare for the arts of Osaka. Cafe and shop inside as well as a free locker room for baggage storage, a media room, and a baby feeding room.

Experiencia fantástica: I went to see the exhibition, “Collection of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen Bruegel's ‘The Tower of Babel’” which I loved! I was able to go and use my US student ID to buy student discount tickets which were very reasonable! The exhibit was huge and took me hours to go through, though I admittedly went pretty slowly to absorb it all. The Tower of Babel itself was intricate and delicate! Definitely worth it!

Experiencia fantástica: This place was quite interesting. They had exhibits in different and various meduims. From sound, short movie, scuplture, paintings, installation to live performance. They had included artists from around the world which helped the experience for someone like me who doesn't speak and understand Japanese. The exhibits are quite contemporary. You will enjoy this place if you enjoy modern conceptual art. The entry fee varies from 800 to 1200 yen if I am not mistaken. You can also buy a translator as well, which would help with the language barrier.

Experiencia fantástica: I enjoyed a lot. Well thinked idea of exibition, big space. Unfortunately there are no moderator who can talk and tell to visitors about exhibits, but ofcourse it's not so common so it was okat. Highly recommend to visit exibition Myriad Art

Experiencia fantástica: Very interesting exhibition when I went (January 2018). The architecture of the museum is quite interesting, it looks small on the surface but it’s a giant underground complex. Don’t forget your student id if you have one.

Experiencia positiva: Disappointed that there is only 1 exhibition ongoing, a permanent collection of 196 works in 19 themes. Had to pay for audio guide & photography permission. Pity the gallery sitters who have to continuously ask visitors to stop taking photos.
