🗣️ Museo MIHO: Opiniones
Experiencia fantástica: The vibe was really good. It was a nice weather day when i got there. The air was fresh.
Experiencia fantástica: Beautiful place with amazing collections of artefacts. Rent an audio guide which includes a comprehensive explanation.
Experiencia fantástica: Beautiful hidden spot near Lake Biwa, very affordable, highly recommend to put this on any travel itinerary!
Experiencia fantástica: An amazing place! Must go!
Experiencia fantástica: The architecture is stunning. The walk thru the tunnel toward the museum is an unforgettable experience. IM Pei is a genius and this museum is my absolute favorite architecture-wise.
Experiencia fantástica: Although the collection of artifacts inside the museum was not very extensive, the building itself is an architectural wonder.
Experiencia fantástica: Love the mountain vibe. Enjoy triangle theme architecture. It seems like a more famous place for Chinese speaking people because I.M Pei was a world famous Chinese architect. My Japanese tutor seems only interested in it after I told her that he is the same architect who makes Pyramide du Louvre…
Experiencia fantástica: An amazing museum in the middle of the forest. The road to get there is a bit tiny, so watch out.
Experiencia fantástica: This museum was designed by I.M.Pei who is known for the architect designed the glass pyramid of Louvre Museum. The stainless steel tunnel leads to the museum is so nice. I heard the tunnel looks more beautiful in spring because the pink color of the cherry blossoms at the entrance to the tunnel reflect its stainless steel wall. Unfortunately the buds of cherry blossoms were less than usual this year 2021. I would like to go there in the season of cherry blossoms again.
Experiencia fantástica: Remarkable building. In my opinion, this is the best architecture I have seen in Japan. The entire experience of arriving at the visitor center, walking through the tunnel, and entering the museum is very well orchestrated. When you go passed the tunnel and get to the gate of the museum, it feels like you have arrived in a secluded world. In addition, the spaces inside of the architecture are very nicely curated with their rigorous daylighting, material qualities, and impeccable details. Overall, this museum is definitely worth a special visit.
Experiencia fantástica: Fusion of new and old, east and west, seamlessly created to bring the viewer to a state of beauty and tranquility. The aesthetics of this place were very nice. The walk was peaceful and inspiring and the art exhibits were unique. This weekend, they had a collection of Bizen pottery from Okayama prefecture with both old artifacts and new works by artists imitating the techniques. I think it is a bit on the pricey side for the transportation and museum ticket itself as the museum collection was quite small. However, if you want a lovely bus ride into the mountains and to see a pristine museum and some interesting architecture, then it may be worth it to you. Check their website for details. It’s very easy to find and get to the place from Ishiyama JR station. Also be aware that the museum was created with a specific religious group’s beliefs in mind. Look up the interesting history of the place before you go to make more sense of the experience.
Experiencia fantástica: A must see. Hidden away among a beautiful landscape. You walk thru a beautiful insta-worthy tunnel to reach a magnificent building with beautiful art. The tea house is a must. The gift shop is full of beautiful pieces as well as small, affordable gifts. Even leaving this museum is a pleasure because of the views. I will def go back!
Experiencia fantástica: you will spend 2hours easy. 15mins from parking lot to museum entrance, a few photo shootingspots. great museum, highly recommended. but youd better drive there.
Experiencia fantástica: Beautiful museum in beautiful country and mountain setting, many exhibits and much history, I highly recommend a visit.
Experiencia fantástica: Art museum with Great view on top of the mountain. We took 2hrs to go there. Totally worth it.
Experiencia fantástica: Wonderful museum in a mesmerizing place. A must for architecture lovers.
Experiencia fantástica: Extraordinary building in a stunning location. The collection is a perfect size. It is quite varied and includes some exceptional pieces. We were lucky to strike a temporary exhibit of Bizen pottery. Great cakes can be found in the cafe if you tire of looking at old relics.
Experiencia fantástica: Very nice place. Excellent architectural design beautifully combined with the nature. Quality collection of exhibits. Highly recommend.
Experiencia fantástica: The design of this museum was inspired by a Chinese poem, which says when you think it’s a dead end, you will find paradise after you passing through path with light and darkness. And this museum can resemble this poem so perfectly. And not only the tunnel is amazing, but the museum itself is so beautifully designed, Mr. I.M.Pei wishes to bring natural light to the exhibit so there are windows by different angles from ceiling to walls and makes visitors feel so much blended with the nature even we are inside the museum. Deeply appreciated such master piece. And thank god I have come to visit it even though it is quite far away from town center.
Experiencia fantástica: Possibly one of the most rewarding places to visit in Japan. Its interesting that this museum is hardly mentioned in any online guides and we were told by someone who had visited. From Kyoto it is a train and then local bus to get there - around 90 minutes all up. We deliberately timed it to be there as the museum opened. What an amazing place. It was designed by I.M Pei and it is one of the most visually impressive buildings I have ever seen. The collections are quite small but what they have is amazing. There is also a wonderful restaurant that serves amazing organic vegetarian food against a wonderful view of the garden and valley. A stunning, stunning experience and absolutely worth the effort to get there.
Experiencia fantástica: Went there to enjoy the weeping sakura, the view was awesome To reach this place, if you are using public transportation : there is a bus, from Ishiyama station to Miho Museum, it runs every hour. It will take approximately 50 minutes, and the fare for adult is 820¥, for children 410¥ each direction. Museum ticket fee is 1100¥ for the adult, 300¥ for the student under 16 years old, and 800¥ for the student > 16 years old (you need to show them the id that verifies this. The last bus to Ishiyama Station is 17.14 (on the weekday) -I forgot to take a picture of the bus schedule- the staff will announce and remind you that the last bus will depart-. There are many places to eat your meal/snack while enjoying the Sakura view (sakura garden) and there is a restaurant near the ticketing office.
Experiencia fantástica: Read the news that I. M. Pei passed away. Want to thank him for leaving us a beautiful museum like MIHO. We visited the museum last spring. Love the environment, architecture, collections and the staff. It is more than a museum.
Experiencia fantástica: A place whose grounds are almost more amazing than the art. Very lovely food in the cafe, and beautiful small collections of history and art.
Experiencia fantástica: Beautiful museum in the mountain. Great sync of architecture into the nature. I’d love to visit in Autumn next. Must be beautiful to see leaves changing colors.
Experiencia fantástica: Very nice art museum. Architecture is very modern and unique. It will be such a beautiful place at cherry blossoms season. You can enjoy art pieces , architecture and nature. Exhibition is including national treasures, Japanese, Chinese, Egypt and east Asia culture art pieces. Organic restaurant is amazing. Not crowded. One and half hour from Kyoto station.
Experiencia fantástica: Fun museum. The food was good, and the tofu was really creamy. I think the nicest part of the museum is the architecture. FYI, there is a video playing in the museum that will tell you about the history of the museum.
Experiencia fantástica: Quite an experience passing the tunnel on foot designed by IM Pei based on a chinese verse.
Experiencia fantástica: Must visit! Worth your time and money. I really liked the museum its surroundings. Covered by nature and a tunnel which connects the museum’s reception with the museum. The exhibition theme changes from time to time. Please check their website on forehand to check if its open. Location: Please check before going to make sure you are on the bus. There is only 1 bus per hour. Please take the JR Tokaido Line (local, rapid or special rapid service) from Kyoto Station to Ishiyama Station. From there take Teisan bus number 150 to the Miho Museum (820 yen single journey , 50 min). Payment can only be done CASH. You cant swap your transportation card. The bus departs from bus stop three and says Miho Museum in both English and Japanese on its sign. The bus arrives at the museum's reception building which contains the ticket desk, gift shop, and a small restaurant. Purchase your tickets here before making your way to the museum's entrance either on foot (ten minutes) or by free museum shuttle. I suggest to walk and you will enjoy and catch some fresh air. Restaurant: Delicious food but they serve no meat! Coming just before lunch time if you are in a hurry or to avoid long queues. Advise: Those who would like to take nice photos , avoid weekends and come on weekdays taking the first bus! There will be already some people who came by car or tour operator. If you come after 11 its very crowded.
Experiencia fantástica: The best timing to visit during cherry blossom...a very special journey for both architecture and masterpieces of art
Experiencia fantástica: Hard to find a museum with a more amazing architecture.
Experiencia fantástica: It may be far from Kyoto and hard to get you here, however I highly recommend you experience I.M.Pei’s last architectural masterpiece!
Experiencia fantástica: I love the long tunnel, when you walk in it’s just like a ceremony that could clear your mind and spirit to make you visit the exhibitions peacefully.
Experiencia fantástica: Incredible architecture. The arrival and walk through the tunnel into the entrance of the museum is an immersive art experience in itself.
Experiencia fantástica: a great place for sightseeing. must visit, especially during the sakura season. great pasta and bakery are served in the cafe.
Experiencia fantástica: This museum is so beautiful! Worth every second of driving up swervy roads.
Experiencia fantástica: Really enjoyed our visit here, though it requires a commitment in time and money to enjoy it's beauty. We were lucky that the cherry blossoms where in bloom. What a spectacular walk then up through the blossoms into the tunnel and out onto the bridge. Museum was equally good. We enjoyed the Noh mask exhibit. Then the remaining rooms.
Experiencia fantástica: Created by IM Pei, the Miho Museum is located in the middle of the beautiful Shigaraki Mountains just outside Kyoto. It is quite literally intended to be a paradise on Earth, and it worked for me; it is my favorite museum in the world from its architecture to the master pieces presented inside. The museum's collection features over 2,000 works of art, with the North wing housing temporary exhibitions devoted to elements of the Japanese aesthetic and the South wing presenting pieces of the Sassanian, Persian, Egyptian, Roman and Chinese Empires. One of the most notable items in its possession is a Second Century AD standing Buddha from Pakistan, which is one of the largest surviving of its kind.
Experiencia fantástica: Stunning museum designed by I. M. Pei located deep in a hill southeast of Kyoto in Shiga Prefecture. Walking through the tunnel towards the museum is dramatic with a panoramic view of the surrounding valleys. During the spring, the cherry blossoms on the path will make the walk even more scenic. The view from the geometric glass and steel structure of the main museum is so serene. There is Egyptian, Roman and Asian exhibits as well as the main and special exhibits changing seasonally. The access takes about an hour from Kyoto Station but make sure to check the bus hours as there is only one every hour there and back from Ishiyama Station.
