Experiencia fantástica: Apparently the most expensive entrance tickets in Japan (JPY 3,500) - compared to Australia, Japanese entrance prices are rather low. It is a rich art museum owned by a well established pharmaceutical company which bought the licence to make replicas of famous artworks from all centuries - printed on ceramic tiles, to preserve them for decades into the future. You can easily spend two hours in the multi story museum, and if you want to admire the art, you may need more time. Photos are allowed, but no flash photography. Sistine Chapel replica, Mona Lisa, Last Supper, Goya's Black Paintings, Andy Warhol and much m

Experiencia fantástica: Awesome museum. If you have a favourite artist, they're likely to have a copy of at least one of their paintings. This museum is an amalgamation of some of the best museums in the world in one space. Allow at least 2 hours to see most of the collection.

Experiencia fantástica: Must visit place in Tokushima. Easily spent 3-4 hours wandering around in this beautifully designed gallery. Nice set up and atmosphere. All you need to see about art in one place. If you are not able to travel around the world to see those world precious treasures, this is the place to visit. For all non-art enthusiast like me, highly recommended for all to pay a visit even if this is not in your travel plan yet.

Experiencia fantástica: Fabulous replicas that have been beautifully curated including some very creative outdoor spaces as well as recreation of grottos etc. We spent 3 hours and it was well worth the ticket price. The staff were very helpful and kind!

Experiencia positiva: Incredible museum of replicas. The museum itself is spacious and airy; there’s two or three cafes to enjoy lunch or coffee. Most of the large works have been made on tile, so it’s okay to get up close to some of the murals. The gallery includes pieces from several different eras, all of which are Western art.

Experiencia fantástica: これは・・大塚さん、大あっぱれ!と思います。その真の価値は100年後に、原作が経年劣化したころ、評価されるはず。 #Kenny's Tour Day n Nigh' #Kenny's Best Kept Secret No.18 ... On the way to home town in the winter holiday I happened to drop in at O(h)tsuka Museum of Art which is located in Naruto City, very popular town for the spectacular sea vortex. The museum is quite unique as they display replicas of European masterpieces baked on ceramic board in its original dimension. This must be ONE of Kenny's Best Kept Secrets. I was, frankly speaking, astonished by the finish quality of "replica of Ohtsuka". The 1,000 paintings are supposed to remain as they are for 2,000 years, they say, thanks to the latest and innovative technology. Suppose you were Asian who visited Japan I'll definitely recommend you to come and see them once in your life as It's really " Vale la pena!" Kenny @ Justavi

Experiencia fantástica: One can see the ceramic-board reproductions of over 1000 pieces of the world's most important art works in one place. Visiting it was like a history of art class experience.

George Woo 6 years ago

Experiencia fantástica: Though these are reproductions, nonetheless a very comprehensive collection of some of the most well known western master pieces spanning from Roman (Pompeii) till modern (Munch, Klimt, Picasso) times. An excellent opportunity to see beautiful art at (larger than) life size, up close with no crowds. The layout and display are well planned and definitely enhancing the experience. There are good explanations, though often only in Japanese. A two hours tour led by an experienced guide is free, but again only in Japanese. Spending nearly a whole day can be a bit heavy. But the museum restaurant was quite good quality and not expensive.

Experiencia fantástica: Lot of reproduction of art works with the actual size. Very nice to visite. If driving to the museum, it does have the parking in the building. If you are at the front of the museum ( guest you come by the express way), drive pass the front and you see the traffic light, turn left. Just 10-20m you will see the out door parking lot on your right. Pass the ticket gate and pick up the parking ticket, then bring it to the museum at B2 floor ti stamp and you get free parking. At the parking lot, they will have loop free shuttle bus to the museum.
