🗣️ Museo de Arte y Museo Prefectural de Okinawa: Opiniones
Experiencia fantástica: Highly educational in relation to the history and perception of the people that reside in Okinawa and enabled me to understand the reason behind their diversity and religious practices. Everything was in English, in comparison something I found hard to find in Tokyo (the tourist hub). There was also an English, Chinese, Korean (and further languages) audio guide which explained in more detail the written descriptions. I would advise to go, especially if it is raining or in the evening after a stroll as it doesn't close until 8:00pm and entrance fee is very cheap. Well worth a visit.
Experiencia fantástica: Incredibly thorough, but well laid out. There's an audio guide in the media library
Experiencia fantástica: Nice Okinawa prefecture museum with one art section and one local heritage section.
Experiencia fantástica: It was very well kept, the guides were friendly and knowledgeable, and the exhibits were gorgeous
Experiencia fantástica: 2019.09.06 Taiwan special exhibition at that time Beautiful memories
Experiencia fantástica: worth to go if you interest art and history
Experiencia fantástica: Very nice collection Old Okinawa Strongly recommend
Experiencia fantástica: Def a must visit if you like history and arts! Super reasonable price with packed historical facts
Experiencia fantástica: Wait time 1 hr+ …
Experiencia fantástica: A must go to have a brief but efficient knowledge of Okinawa story in different ages.
Experiencia fantástica: Easy access from monorail station . From natural history to modern history of Okinawa .
Experiencia fantástica: ¥1300 for entrance into all the exhibits. Took about 2 hours to check it all out. Very nice museum. Free parking.
Experiencia positiva: The building looks very cool outside. Very unique brutalist architecture. Unfortunately, inside you can't take pictures in most of the places. It's more or less permissive in the historic part, but in the art part it was all forbidden. You will get angry guards rushing towards you with their arms crossed and saying No, if you try to take photos. Once, I wanted to take a photo of a few pages in a catalog with previous exhibitions, so I could find the art pieces later. This still triggered the guards for some unknown reasons.
Experiencia fantástica: Interesting museum for kids and adults. Don’t miss out the workshops.
Experiencia positiva: Incredible museum!!! The exhibitions are just amazing. And it’s open as late as until 20:00 on Saturdays! Very cool museum shop and a cafe. Great brutalist building. One star less for a super confusing photo policy that needs to be improved…
Experiencia fantástica: *Incredibly* informative exhibit about the history of the former Ryukyu Kingdom up through postwar Okinawa. I could’ve spent the entire day in the permanent collection alone. I only wish there was more on the folklore and culture of the Ryukyu/Okinawan people, and less about more commonly known postwar history.
Experiencia fantástica: What a wonderful combination of a historical and anthropological museum as well as post-war art museum rolled into one. The tickets allow you to select which galleries you want to go to, and I highly recommend The permanent historical exhibit on the first floor as well as the exhibit of work from the collection in the art area. I also had lunch at the cafe, and their vegetarian sandwich was delicious, along with the lassi.
Experiencia fantástica: The park outside is so much fun, a lot of restaurants in the area. The museum was full of very.... interesting art. The art was beautiful, the nude mans pictures were interesting ... the people who work there are very kind. Don’t take pictures of the art, they don’t like that. I think it’s way better to drive there than walk if you’re in kinser (that’s what I did) that way you can enjoy the museum a little more without throbbing feet. This is definitely something you should see while in Okinawa, it’s art is lovely. ✨
Experiencia positiva: I went to Museum side and see the regular display. I learned about the nature, history and customs of Okinawa. It was integrated into Japan from the time of the Ryukyu Kingdom, and was terrified by the Pacific War. It was ruled by the US military for a while and returned to Japan. It is a tropical country of Japan with a sad history. But the people here are bright and calm.
Experiencia fantástica: Okinawa Prefectural Museum & Art Gallery *** must visit *** Another place you cannot miss when you visit Okinawa. A half day visit to the museum will allow you to have a quick glimpse into the history and culture of the island. To help you to learn about the exhibit, please remember to get an audio guide from the counter. It will great enhanced your experience. It has different languages English, Japanese, Chinese Mandarin, Korean. Well worth the effort. It has a huge display area, it is advisable to spend at least half a day here. If you wish to visit the art gallery too, then maybe it is good to spend a day here. If you are tired you can always go for a break at the café within the museum. Otherwise there is Mall nearby, walking distance, in which there is a food court where you get some food and drink and rest. #japan #okinawa #naha #okinawaprefecturalmuseum #travellog #review #冲绳 #那霸 #冲绳县立博物馆
Experiencia fantástica: The entrance fee to the exhibitions were affordable. Very huge compound, easily spend up to 1 day here with interactive museum guides. Traditional music performances 0900hrs and 1400hrs lasting up to 45 mins (but not sure if its everyday, pls do check). Toilets facilities and media library with interactive children section. Child friendly, not crowded. Love it!
Experiencia fantástica: Although it is not my first language, I'm writing this in English to recommend the museum to the worldwide visitors. This museum is really a nice place if you want to know history and culture of Okinawa. The visitors circulation is well designed and the audio guide (multilingual support and may be free as I remember) provides detailed explanations about every single display. If you have a plan to visit Okinawa, please don't miss the place.
Experiencia fantástica: The permanent exhibition is cheap and worth it, if you're into history. It tells how Okinawa was from the paleolithic ages until current era. The titles and important information are also provided in English in the explanation of items, though longer and elaborate explanation are only in Japanese. Therefore, if you want to know deeper details, I recommend to ask for audio guide at the counter.
Experiencia fantástica: Great museum to study a history of Okinawa.
Experiencia fantástica: Took the fam here this weekend and the kids actually enjoyed themselves. A lot to view and exhibits to walk through and fairly cheap. Good experience. There’s also a display board you can get of the museum which has it mapped out and you can tap on the board to listen to certain historical content.
Experiencia fantástica: Good place to learn a lot about the history of Okinawa. Be sure to get your free audio guide right across the ticket counter, if you have the Okinawa tram day pass, you will get discount for the entrance ticket
Experiencia fantástica: I bought the passport ticket to enter every exhibit, which took me almost four hours. I spent about half or more of that time in the main museum (not art museum), where they talk about the historical setting and development of the Ryukyus. They were fairly accommodating of my needs as an English speaker, even having English audio guides available, which were of good quality. (4/5 stars on the content for those) I give this museum 5 stars because its displays in the main museum were so incredibly informative. I learned a whole lot of Okinawan history in the context of Japan, China, Europe, and the US. HOWEVER, I really did think the art museum was disappointingly small, so if you have to choose, definitely go for the main museum. I posted pictures of two of the more interesting art pieces on display. Also there was this great temporary exhibit on the maker of Kimi no na wa (Your Name) and all of his films. This exhibit was very moving and inspiring!
Experiencia fantástica: This review covers both the art gallery and history museum sections. First, the history museum is fantastic. You can get a free audio guide with your entrance fee, at least Japanese, English, Korean, and Mandarin are available with I believe a few other languages. You will see a huge breadth of history from early days and archaeological finds through feudal ages and into the present. Topics cover religious beliefs to trade and growth of Okinawa. Well curated, well organized, and the recommended path provides a great narrative overview. The art gallery was beautiful. With both perpetual and special exhibits, there's a great variety showcasing the history and development of art in Okinawa. The whole museum is clean, well organized, and situated beautifully. It's easy to get to from the Naha light rail as well. Definitely worth a visit, you could easily spend 2 to 4 hours here on a trip.
Experiencia fantástica: It's a nice experience. I have just visited the museum and nt the art museum but that was worthy for m
Experiencia fantástica: Really like their permanent exhibition - it's a great place to learn about Okinawan history. Probably not very fun for kids though. But, they do have a small activity area where kids can use toys and other interactive tools to learn about Okinawa.
Experiencia fantástica: It was nice to learn about the history of Okinawa and how it became part of Japan. When you first walk in, it's like you're walking on water. There's also an art gallery and rotating exhibits. You get to choose which parts of the museumto visit and it's great of you only have a few hours to visit. Prices will vary depending on your choice of admission.
Experiencia fantástica: Very important stop on your journey through Okinawa to educate yourself and gain perspectives and history of The Ryukyu Kingdom and it’s people.
Experiencia fantástica: A must visit if you in Okinawa. Informative museum with cool architecture in and out.
Experiencia fantástica: This was such a great museum to learn about Okinawa! Staff were very friendly and exhibition information was in English and Japanese.
Experiencia fantástica: One of the must go spots on Okinawa check and see what traveling exhibits they have on their website. Parking is easy. And definitely kid friendly but may bore them depending on what exhibit is in.
Experiencia fantástica: The museum provides a concise and well organised history of Okinawa and explains the distinct history and identity of the Okinawan people. That said, I would have liked the section on WWII and its immediate aftermath to be a bit better fleshed out. You get the sense that a lot has been left unsaid. The permanent art exhibition and its characterisation of the US and mainland Japanese troops give a hint of what this is, but you'll have to do more digging elsewhere to find the details.
Experiencia fantástica: Better than expected! very kids friendly, Many exhibiting items are "playable", usually it's hard to keep children inside a museum, and make them enjoyable, this is definitely an exception! One of thereasons we would like to visit okinawa again, is this museum.
Experiencia fantástica: Excellent Okinawan historical overview & various rotating local art displays. Definitely worth a visit.
Experiencia fantástica: Very nice place to know about Naha, Okinawa Japan .
Experiencia fantástica: An essential stop while visiting Okinawa to understand the area and its history. This museum is great for adults and children alike. Very interactive self-guided tour in many languages. You will gain a strong understanding of Okinawa past and present.
Experiencia fantástica: Came here recently with a friend to bask in the history of Okinawa. We stayed until closing. In a convenient location with a Lawson’s across the street, San-A on the other side all stores within vicinity of each other there is also a huge park behind the museum. Took a bunch of photos but some I cannot display them here.
Experiencia fantástica: I only went to see the museum section. It's a great place to go to learn about Okinawa culture. Using the free audio guide I spent just under 2 hours going round. There's also a nice cafe on the second floor.
Experiencia fantástica: Well organized and informative about the history and art of Okinawa. About 20 minutes walk distance from Kokusai Street.
