🗣️ Museo y Parque Nacional Upopoy Ainu: Opiniones
Experiencia fantástica: Worth the trip and entrance fee. Fascinating insight into Ainu culture, and the live performance is very entertaining as well.
Experiencia fantástica: The museum is situated on the lakeside, they exhibit the history and culture of Ainu people. There are many workshops and performances of their music, dancing and craftwork too. Beautiful architecture by Kume Sekkei.
Experiencia fantástica: A real insight into Ainu Culture and history. There's a lot to see. The train station is close. If you have big luggage the information centre in the yellow building as you are walking towards the museum will look after your suitcase for 500Yen.
Experiencia fantástica: A newly built place to visit to understand Ainu culture. Please dont miss their music appreciation and performance…really superb
Experiencia fantástica: A really well done museum with information in plenty of languages including English. I felt I learnt a lot and I'd highly recommend watching one of the shows they put on if you can.
Experiencia fantástica: amazing
Experiencia fantástica: Massive set-up with many interesting things to see and learn about. Definitely recommend.
Experiencia fantástica: Very Good Everything
Experiencia fantástica: Great complex with more buildings. Worth to visit if nearby. Many showcases with valuable artefacts. All dedicated to Ainu and their history, culture and customs.
Experiencia fantástica: Plenty to learn and experience. Nice facilities and probably the most modern and clean museum experience I’ve had. Staff were all incredibly friendly. I suggest planning the day around the different experiences that are on offer in the program.
Experiencia fantástica: Very beautiful and interesting place. learning about the Ainu cultu
Experiencia fantástica: Beautiful museum with lots of activities for kids and adults
Experiencia fantástica: Easy access from Shiraoi station by walking 600m Peaceful park with museum and workshops about the Ainu culture which was interesting. Restaurant, food court and souvenir store at the entrance. I bought the tickets (1200yen) in advance through the website and booked the museum time slot in advanc
Experiencia fantástica: In creating animistic lifestyle, I've been interested in learning about Ainu people & their culture but didn't want read anything until I vist the land of Ainu. Upopoy gave me an overview knowledge and helped me to start a journey to deepen my interest in them. Firstly, I profounly enjoyed the tranquility of Lake Poroto.
Experiencia fantástica: Absolutely amazing. First of all the location, by a lake and with a volcano in full sight. The buildings: super contemporary structures. The museum: amazing artifacts exquisitely displayed. The other display areas (in one you can wear traditional clothes and have your photo taken for free). The performances in a proper theatre. On top of this it is very close to the train station and only 10 minutes ride to Noribetsu Onsen.
Experiencia fantástica: I went way back before it was Upopoy. It's changed so much, and I'm happy for them. My brother and I ended up staying for over 4 hours. He knew nothing about the Ainu or the manga/anime that made the Ainu more mainstream and he enjoyed himself. I do have 2 small complaints, but very small. The first is food. It's not bad, but it feels more geared towards tourists, though there are a few accessible dishes that are authenticly Ainu from my understanding (go to Harukor in Tokyo for a better variety). The second is there are no on-site crafts to purchase. The old kotan had some. New Chitose airport has a good shop for handmade Ainu goods. But obviously both "problems" are things few people consider in museums, hence the 5 stars and recommendations for other ways to learn more about the Ainu people. Go to Upopoy, learn lots, enrich yourself!
Experiencia fantástica: It was breathtakingly beautiful!!! Upopoy is a must see when in Hokkaido! #traveltalktea Restrooms: Clean!
Experiencia fantástica: Great museum on Ainu culture with fantastic artefacts and historical museum. Couldn't make much use of the outdoor part as it was a cold and rainy day but what we saw was really good. Information boards inside are in multiple languages, so very accommodating to non-Japanese people.
Experiencia fantástica: Totally under-rated Even though I am not native Japanese, I really enjoyed looking through the exhibits with the help of the English translations which gave me an understanding of the Ainu way of life. The venue was nestled in a picturesque environment at where Lake Poroto is, which was absolutely beautiful. There were also live experiences hosted which includes archery and story-telling by real Ainu people.
Experiencia fantástica: I loved to learn about the Ainu culture. Can recommend it to anyone. You should also go to the live performances. Definitely worth it!
Experiencia fantástica: Well spent money
Experiencia fantástica: Awesome experience learning the history of native Japanese culture.
Experiencia fantástica: The iyomante performance was beautiful. I wish I could join and dance with them! The exhibition of various musical instruments by Minamina san was also inspiring. It was also nice to see and meet Shihoko san, the living legend in real life and she was such a lovely person! You’ll find all the other employees also friendly and greeting in the Ainu language. The museum has a lot to show their art and craftsmanship. It was heartbreaking to re-educate myself at the section E on how the Ainu people were exploited and eventually killed by the Matsumae and the imperial Japan. Before arrival I thought 1-2 hours should be enough and at the end of the day I ended up spending 4 hours and a half. But it was not enough and I will return someday. Because most of their lives and activities start on time and they don’t allow late participation (for example, the Ainu language lesson starts at 2 p.m. sharp and I was unable to join as I was late for 5 mins). Lastly I wish nothing but all the future prosperity and happy holidays to the Ainu people and all the people who are supporting and working on their renaissance.
Experiencia fantástica: Very enjoyable museum - interactive- many attractions and beautiful scenery- highly recommended if you are in the area. Staff is also super friendly - Will come again
Experiencia fantástica: Interesting depiction of Ainu culture.
Experiencia fantástica: Excellent place to learn about the Ainu culture. There are many signs and literature in English, but it helps to know katakana to learn about the Ainu language. The main exhibit is fascinating, with many artifacts, videos, and infographics that you could spend hours learning about. I learned a lot about the life of these native people long ago. It was a little bit of a dream come true for me. I am grateful to have gone here. Also the wild garlic ramen is very tasty.
Experiencia fantástica: Very nice. People are kind, performances are great.
Experiencia fantástica: You can enjoy Ainu history and delicious venison.
Experiencia fantástica: Pretty new museum about Ainu. Very interesting how the history is described.
Experiencia fantástica: Search ウポポイ 予約 and reserve a time slot to get the chance of visiting the main hall of Ainu history. There are many items and interactive stations to know more about the Ainu history.
Experiencia fantástica: We really enjoyed learning about Japan’s indigenous peoples and culture.
Experiencia fantástica: An unforgettable visit, but don't go in the middle of the day in summer. It's a very hot experience. However, I'm still glad I made the trek from Sapporo because this was an incredible experience. I love open air museums and there was so much to learn and take in. The scheduled performances are interesting and it was so worth it to stay after dark to watch the light show projected on the side of the building. I also got to see one of the dance performances inside and that was a highlight. Definitely a must-see if you're in Hokkaido to learn about the Ainu people. Make sure to reserve in advance!
Experiencia fantástica: It is a place where you can learn more about the Ainu, the indigenous people of Hokkaido. There were many buildings in the very large site. It was perfectly cleaned and in good condition. I didn't know that such a big facility exists in Hokkaido. The video of the history of "Ainu" that I saw in the facility was only about 15 minutes, but it was very easy to understand and I was able to learn good things. The National Museum had a limited number of people. Therefore, it was full and could not be seen. It was very disappointing. If I came to Hokkaido again, I wanted to make a reservation in advance and see the National Museum.
Experiencia fantástica: There are many things to do here! I went for a day trip and after staying at the museum from open to close, more than one day is required to get the full experience. I attended a ton of workshops on Ainu culture, spoke with staff about Ainu history, their culture and their experiences growing up as an Ainu person (for those specific individuals who were part of Ainu culture). A few staff I met were able to speak English which was nice. As a note, this place may not be the best for younger children unless they are old enough to read and are interested in learning more. I saw many parents and families struggling with young children running around and causing chaos due to being bored or lack of strict parenting.
Experiencia fantástica: Beautiful, educational, inspirational and in our day and age of seeing how climate and nature is getting back at us, be reminded of a different way of thinking when it comes to our planet.
Experiencia fantástica: I recommend you to go there in the evening. It’s less people on that time.
Experiencia fantástica: Huge museum with lots to see and learn about the Ainu. Entry is 1200 yen for adults. Lots of videos, artifacts, demonstrations and hands-on activities. Wish I had spent more time here! I could see this also being a great place to bring kids. During COVID, you have to make an online reservation for when you arrive. I recommend staying until they close (8pm) because there's a beautiful outdoor projection show at 7:30pm.
Experiencia fantástica: Passionate staff. Beautiful facities. Interesting history, and not just history. Will definitely be back. Note that entrance to museum exhibit is currently limited - best to book online in advance.
Experiencia fantástica: A must go if you want to discover more about Ainu culture ! And in top of that you can do some embroidery or wood carving workshop ! Spent one over there and could have stayed more ^^
Experiencia fantástica: Beautiful location for the museum. Very informative and interesting.
Experiencia fantástica: Amazing place to visit. Highly I recommend
Experiencia fantástica: Definitely worth half a day for your travel itinerary. Some programs are only performed once a day so remember to check schedules and plan your day out in advance.
Experiencia fantástica: Ainu performance was great and touching song ,museum tour about Ainu history was great too…preserve Ainu ancestors culture… They are closely relates to bear since their ancestors…hunting/lether wear…
Experiencia fantástica: A place to visit to know the earliest aborigines who lives in Hokkaid
Experiencia fantástica: Great understanding of the local Ainu ppl cultu
Experiencia fantástica: 閉めていましたが店員さんはとても親切でした。色々な話を話しました。アイヌの歌を歌いました。 I went when it was closed but the employee infront was super nice and took it upon himself to tell me about the ainu, his grandparebts, and even song an Ainu song. Super great guy, I will come back again! As for the bear stalls... they were very small. I felt really bad for them. Their eyes seemed sad.
Experiencia fantástica: This place is awesome...not big but very peaceful and the people here were all very kind. Strangely reminds me a lot of U.S. Native American culture...
Experiencia fantástica: Awesome museum, interactive Ainu music lessons, fantastic place. Cafe food is excellent also.
Experiencia fantástica: Great, interesting place to visit.
