Experiencia fantástica: Athens has many private foundations for art lovers and Basil & Elise Goulandris is certainly one of the highlights. A wonderful private collection featuring many important Modernist Masters. Keep in mind museums often operate different hours - this foundation is closed on Tuesday for example. They offer both public and private guided tours - recommended to learn more why it's not just the Artists that make the collection the collectors also have a vision. Nearby is the National Garden.

Experiencia fantástica: Wonderful collection beautifully exhibited. The building itself is a wonder. Slightly removed from the tourist hoards in Athens these days. Very highly recommended.

Experiencia fantástica: Super great foundation with amazing collection. Well presented. Nice cafe inside. Not many people. Nice gift shop. Take audiogide ( free of charge)

Experiencia fantástica: Free entrance on May 18th (international museum day). Beautiful collection but due to the high traffic of the day it was not ideal for contemplation. There was however a string orchestra performance by the De Profundis to cap off the evening and it was absolutely incredible.

Experiencia fantástica: Super nice museum! If you’re into modern art then you must check this out. There’s even some Van Gogh and Picasso. The building itself worth checking out!

Experiencia fantástica: It's amazing! Very well organized and they have a lot of interesting pieces. They have amazing Picasso,Monet,Degas,Giacometti's paintings. I was very surprised by their 20th Century's Greek Artists collection as well...ASTONISHING. Me and my friend left very satisfied. Tickets are 15 euros and 11 euros for students. Very well kept. I highly suggest to get the audioguides so that you really can understand the history and the details behind each piece. I will attach only two of the pictures I took since I think you should go in person and check each painting out because it's an amazing experience.

Experiencia fantástica: A must visit museum in Athens!!! The museum has a great collection of artworks from Picasso and Dali to some of the most famous Greeks artists. Worth visiting for both foreigners and Greeks Plus there is a very nice cafe restaurant in the first Flor with a hidden garden

Experiencia positiva: A lovely museum with great pieces, however there is an over reaction in what has to do with security and guarding. Even families with kids can feel like bandits. Take it easy guys.

Experiencia fantástica: A beautiful art gallery that inhabits a varied collection of modern art, both international and local. The gallery caffe is a real sanctuary of calm and minimalist design and excellent coffe.

Experiencia fantástica: Picasso is obviously included in most of the museums throughout Europe - this just so happens to be another one. BOY was it GREAT! Other artists across the past centuries also have their works on display

Experiencia fantástica: A big surprise.. Picasso, Pollock, Lichenstein and ofcourse amazing art from Greek artists. Beautiful collection and amazing museum. The staff was quite rude.

Experiencia fantástica: Less of a museum, more of a gallery, but great all the same. My favorites would have to be van Gogh’s Olive Picking & Monet’s Rouen Cathedral in the Morning. Quite a few works by Picasso as well, even a couple piece of his pottery.

Experiencia fantástica: You really don't want to miss this if you're in Athens! Easily in the top5 museums in Athens. Van Gogh, Braque, Bonnard, Picasso, Cézanne, Kandinsky, Degas, Ernst, Bacon, Dubuffet, Modigliani, Pollock and so much more!! Hint: Take that Audio-guide!

Experiencia fantástica: Very nice collection of greek art with unexpected features from globally known artists. Very helpful staff and discreet security in the exhibition area. Lovely location and very easy to approach on foot from city centre crossing some of the most picturesque spots of Athens.

Experiencia fantástica: Totally worth 2 hours of your life. Magnificent little compact museum full of beautiful art from Greek and world renowned artists. The building is phenomenal and the 8 euros admission ticket is more than fair. Make sure you take an audio guide to learn a couple more facts about the paintings. The cafe at the 1st floor has a wonderful patio at the back to chill and have a good espresso. Overall a gem in the heart of Athens

Experiencia fantástica: Beautiful collection of modern art, some very notable pieces - both painting and sculpture. I also appreciated how they had a Greek focus in their contemporary exhibitions. The place is, in my opinion, just the right size. Small compared to a major museum but more than a typical gallery. Just right for me. The cafe is a nice space with table service, and the food is decent. They even have some affordable mains! Having a flute of Prosecco and reflecting on the exhibit was a perfect way to cap off the experience. Two thumbs up ;)

Experiencia fantástica: A small gem in the art world - this collection has some big names of Greek and international stage. The museum is beautiful, with a nice little shop and a cute cafe-restaurant - the food by the way is very very good!

Experiencia fantástica: An amazing museum for fine arts in the heart of Athens. The permanent collection consists mainly of artworks of the previous century. You can find some incredible pieces of art, by artists like Van Gogh, El Greco, Picasso, Bacon, Chagall, Monet, Modigliani, Rodin, de Chirico, Matisse, Giacometti and so many others... And also paintings of some of the most important greek painters, like Tsarouhis, Gikas, Moralis, Eggonopoulos, Parthenis and others. I visit it again and again. A very beautiful garden in the front of the museum, also. You should make a visit, if you're interested in artworks of the 19th and 20th centuries.

Experiencia fantástica: A museum much different from any other in Athens or perhaps even Greece. Speaking from a museological point of view it is flawless: the architectural design of the building itself, the colours, the lighting, the positioned level of the exhibits, the audio tours .... and so on! Despite enjoying such a professional outcome from the team behind the scenes, the elitist and conventional character of the collection itself remains a massive throwback.
