Experiencia fantástica: Fantastic place with a long history. Audio guide available from the mobile, use your speakers. 200 meeters from the Museum you can watch changing guards in front of the Presidential Palace between 10 and 11am.

Experiencia fantástica: It is really really big, it was the most fun museum I’ve ever been in Athens. I suggest you plan a weekend for the whole benaki museums because there are many, but the original collection is really nice too. It takes 3-4 hours imo if you want to do it justice. The cafe was delicious.

Experiencia fantástica: A wide range of art works including fabrics and accessories with stunning details. Pottery, statues, paintings and lots of religious artefacts for those who are interested in history, culture and art from ancient to modern times.

Experiencia fantástica: The Bernaki Museum has serval sites in Athens. The main collection is close to the National Gardens - each floor offers a different perspective of Greek history. There is pottery, and a fantastic selection of gold jewellery that leaves you wondering how extraordinary these ancient artisans were with their craft. Across other floors you will find painting, traditional dress and rooms that have been decorated to reflect different ages. Another site hosts more contemporary exhibitions, often photography. Check their website to plan your excursion - there are also late night events and discounted admission tickets. This is one of my favourite museums in Athens .

Experiencia fantástica: A beautifully curated collection of artefacts that encompass folk and domestic as well as fine arts, religious arts and archaeological finds. Copyrighted images I have often admired and many significant sources of historical and visual material are owned by the museum, so I was very keen to visit. It is truly very beautiful, but start on the top floor where a number of stunning full assemblages of now destroyed northern Greek aristocratic homes' reception rooms are located. A real visual treat, which if you arrive at late in the day or after exploring the rest of the museum, may leave you feeling as I did, that you had gone there first! The place is large and descending from the top floor will help. The corridors are adorned with art by philhellenes depicting aspects of the nation's revolutionary past. The breath of material is vast but requires patience and reflection. Another aspect which I absolutely loved, was the celebration of women's role in making and consolidating the diverse national attire, home decor and functional furniture (to their design and home storage needs, if not the actual manufacture) of old Greece and Greek Asia Minor.

Experiencia fantástica: One of my favorite museum in Athens. A lot to see. The ticket was €12. If you scan the QR code, you will have access to the free audio guide in various languages which was really cool

Experiencia fantástica: Beautiful museum!! If one has enough of ancient Greece while in Athens, this place is great! It follows the Greek/islands culture from ancient times till a bit more than the Byzantine period and under the Ottoman empire. It is great to have a glimpse of the art and culture -- costumes, jewelry, interior design. The Romanians will feel very familiar, as many of the Orthodox churches and decorations inside still keep the Byzantine charm.

Experiencia fantástica: A must see museum with multiple collections dating from the ~2500BC - to recent years.. you can also see couple collections from the Byzantine era. Also the bundling where the collection is housed is beauty of its own neoclassical marvel

Experiencia fantástica: A great cultural experience to learn and understand modern Hellenism, and the flow from Ancient to modern.

Experiencia fantástica: This place is fantastic. It was a tour through greek history via items from throughout antiquity. The best part was the recordings - many pieces have QR codes that lead to a recorded docent placing the item in historical context. Listening to them was like unlocking mysteries. What’s awesome is that you can leave the museum and come back in the same day, like if you need lunch at a cafe that’s cheaper than their lovely but pricey restaurant. :)

Experiencia fantástica: One of the best museums I visited! The best of Athens, more than the Acropolis or anyother museum. It got a lot of art works. So many artistic collections. Definitely would take 2-3 hrs. Fortunate to have a free visit for the international museum day. Walkable from Syntagma Metro.

Experiencia positiva: One of the best museums to see in Athens from paintings, mementos, traditional Greek dresses, religious artifacts and icons, ancient tools, jewelries, musical instruments and some modern art. Be aware that some rooms are part of their temporary exhibit that requires additional entrance fee. Worth a visit and a good glimpse of Greek culture.

Experiencia fantástica: The museum has many well curated permanent collections of history and art. Including painting, textile, pottery, jewelry, interior and many other media and art forms. The temporary exhibition is cherry on top. It’s worth spending time here while you hiding from scorching sun in the afternoon.

Experiencia fantástica: A hidden gem. Wonderful displays, excellent in all respects. Be sure to take rooms in order but leave energy and time for later rooms on upper floors.. they are the best. Had lunch here and it was yummy. Be sure to call and make a reservation and eat halfway through visiting exhibits.

Experiencia fantástica: I especially liked the icons because of the colors and gold. It's a wonderful museum and a half a day wasn't really enough. The exhibits were well organized so if you follow the numbers you would understand what you are seeing.

Experiencia positiva: If you are staying longer in Athens, than this is worth doing. I would not priorities it given there are so many nicer and more interesting things to to do. The collection is mostly made off orthodox art, jewelry and clothing. The most interesting things are probably the very old figurines and pots on the ground floor. You definitely don’t need two days and can be all done in a couple of hours.

Experiencia fantástica: One of the best museums I have been to. It starts with the Neolithic age in Greece and goes all the way through Greece Independence in 1821. The audio guide is excellent! It can be accessed by scanning the QR codes with your smartphone. I estimate there is between 3-4 hours of audio guiding available. 1 hour is enough to walk around the museum and enjoy. €12 for entrance and $22 total with the extended revolution exhibit. Closed on Wednesdays
