🗣️ Museo de Arte Cicládico: Opiniones
Experiencia fantástica: Amazing visit and I highly recommend the Carrot cake from the museum cafe ✨
Experiencia fantástica: The most beautiful Museum of Athens! A dive into the past, you walk among wonderful archaeological artifacts belonging to the Aegean Cycladic Culture, to the ancient Cypriot and ancient Greek Art. Everything is beautifully displayed, following the correct historical eras. Each single statue, vase, etc... is accompanied by an explanatory plate and you don't get lost in the rooms. Museum staff is very friendly. The terrace deserves a stop to enjoy a coffee and admire the city. The Shop has many books, Museum Copies, collectibles and gifts and its staff is really nice. You can also buy online and the order will arrive the next day if you live near Athens, otherwise in a maximum of two/three days if you live in Greece. They also ship abroad. Highly recommended!
Experiencia fantástica: This is a great museum - floors a dedicated to Cycladic art, Cypriot art, art from the Byzantine period and more. They host temporary exhibitions and events and there are workshops available for families.
Experiencia fantástica: Very impressed and must visit. Among floors don’t have chronological order and we started from the 4th floor as we were advised, which was a great choice.

Experiencia fantástica: Wonderful museum with a rich collection and well explained and accessible to all (kids, adults, people with different needs). The inclusivity and the beauty are just amazing. The cafe is super simpa as design and atmosph
Experiencia fantástica: The beautiful simplicity of the cycladic art exhibited in the best possible way. All the floors have rich collections varied from Greek and Cypriot archaic art, the cycladic art of course and usually a modern art or of different theme exhibition in the adjacent magnificent Stathatos mansion. Beautiful chic objects and jewelry in the museum shop (although quite pricey) and a calm and pretty café on the ground floor (very delicious bites, quite pricey though ). The welcome guy at the entrance is very kind, very welcoming and informs you quite thoroughly of what you are about to see A must visit!
Experiencia fantástica: Thoroughly curated. Almost every plaque has English translation. Clean and pretty cafe at lobby. Don’t expect high quality, but the seating area is a great addition to the museum.
Experiencia fantástica: Love this museum. A beautiful and informative presentati9n of life in Ancient Greece, with specific exhibitions on Cyprus, the ancient artistic expressions, and of course the Cycladic civilization. Highly recommend.
Experiencia fantástica: Another great museum to visit in Athens. The museum of Cycladic art houses on of the most complete private collections of Cycladic art worldwide. Tickets costs 12 euros. Free WiFi is available.
Experiencia fantástica: One of the most beautiful museums in the center of Athens. A unique collection of Cycladic artifacts, a comprehensive collection of the ancient Hellenic arts. Great cafe and gift shop.
Experiencia fantástica: Really informative exhibition on art throughout history. It was interesting to have a take focused more on the artistic value of pieces rather than purely the archaeological aspect. The final floor had an especially interesting exhibit on the life story of a individual living in ancient Greece. It was presented with artifacts, drawn pictures and text as well as a video. Would definitely recommend. Staff were friendly and helpful, toilets were clean and shop was well presented.
Experiencia fantástica: A jem. Nice and quiet museum that shows the chronology of art since early ages of greece. There are short explanations about the display which is accurate.
Experiencia fantástica: It is a very interesting place. If you're interesting about art you have to see it.
Experiencia fantástica: One of Athens's unavoidable and essential museums. You should try to visit the top-floor first. The totally new display and the video are just flabbergasting. Don't forget to take a rest at the ground floor cafeteria. Their homemade pastries are excellent. Great sandwiches too.
Experiencia fantástica: One of the top 5 museums in Athens. In the heart of the city center with great interiors and lighting. Must visit..!
Experiencia fantástica: Excellent museum.€8 entrance. No audio guide. I would recommend 1 to 2 hours for the museum. The Cycladic are the 3rd ancient civilization that makes up Greece. I would highly recommend going if you're into history.
Experiencia fantástica: Great way to learn about the history of Greece. Very nice museum, and very nice written explanations.
Experiencia fantástica: This museum is excellent. We have been many times or lets say every time we visit Athens we stop by this museum. The Picasso exhibitions was well done, even when a bit small. If you are going on a trip to the Cycladic islands this museum is a must before you visit the islands. Also the coffee shop serves excellent coffee, fantastic cakes and little snacks, such as sandwiches and other bites.
Experiencia fantástica: Everybody know Athens is a cradle of ancient culture but nowadays most of the buildings looks the same there. I was walking along the street and noticed this beautiful and spectacular building and captured it by automatically. Unfortunately, had not enough time to see inside parts with its exhibitions. Would be back soon.
Experiencia fantástica: The Nicholas P. Goulandris Foundation - Museum of Cycladic Art is a museum of Athens. It houses a notable collection of artifacts of Cycladic art. The museum was founded in 1986 in order to house the collection of Cycladic and Ancient Greek art belonging to Nicholas and Dolly Goulandris. Starting in the early 1960s, the couple collected Greek antiquities, with special interest in the prehistoric art from the Cyclades islands of the Aegean Sea. The Museum's main building, erected in the centre of Athens in 1985, was designed by the Greek architect Ioannis Vikelas. In 1991, the Museum acquired a new wing, the neo-classical Stathatos Mansion at the corner of Vassilissis Sofias Avenue and Herodotou Street. The museum has housed temporary exhibitions of some of the most important Greek and international modern and contemporary artists.
Experiencia fantástica: Permanent collection is so so - you can experience similar even better Cycladic art in National Museum. But, the Picasso and Antiquity temporary exhibition, WOW!! Highly recommended. And a nice cafe and museum bookshop.
Experiencia fantástica: For me the first and fourth floors are delightful and very informative ... I can even imagine the day to day use of this pieces, also found that the woman resembles a violin and we need to play it just alike. The curious bit is understanding that the statues are probably the resemblance of dead people. More sentive eyes need to be careful as at least one statue has a full blown erection. I'll just won't say where. The golden art is quite interesting and one can see some people doing this in the north of Portugal. The cafe is quite nice and there are toilets inside.
Experiencia fantástica: Wonderful private institution. The rooms are clearly marked by theme, with modern presentation and not too much clutter. Artifacts are high quality and beautifully presented. The old part is a nice building with temporary exhibits, creating an interesting dialogue between the architecture and the art presented. Lastly, the café and gift shop are not to be missed, some of the best in Athens.
Experiencia fantástica: The best museum worldwide for prehistoric (middle of III millennia BC) Cycladic islands art. Astonishing figurines (usually depicting females with arms folded, connected to some early religious cult) acquired by the Goulandris family in the middle of 20th century. The museum was specially built for the collection and very close to the Greek parliament. The museum collection is a must for anyone interested in the Ancient arts, to check the similarities and differences to the earlier Egypt and and Near Eastern art, and to the late Greek archaic and classical periods. The figurines from the Cycladic islands were found (about 2000 in total) in tombs, early settlements, and were usually colored (colors are not preserved).
Experiencia fantástica: A great museum to visit. It has four floors. The first is dedicated to the simplicit enigmatic sculptures of the cycladic civilization, the second is about classical ancient greece, the third is about ancient cyprus, and the last a great presentation of the life of an ordinary athenian of the classical times. The museum has great artifacts and is presented in a non boring (suitable for all ages) way. Pairs nicly with the Benaki museum, the archaelogical site of Aristoteles lyceum and the byzantine museum.
