🗣️ Museo Arqueológico de Zadar: Opiniones
Experiencia fantástica: Visited on Public holiday Wait time Up to 10 min Reservation recommended No …
Experiencia fantástica: Well put together small museum which documents the narrative of the areas’ history well. Information is in English as well as Croatian and is very detailed. It’s €5 to get in and is cash only.
Experiencia fantástica: Very nice museum. I’d add some info to exposition (ex. How good landed in this place and the material they are from). But overall, very nic
Experiencia fantástica: 5€ entrance is absolutely worth to enter. The permanent exhibition is explaned in croatian and English. The guide book costs 5€ and is well made. The visit takes 1 hour.
Experiencia fantástica: Well worth spending a couple hours here. We learned a lot about cultures that never really show up in the history books. Only down side is no bathrooms.
Experiencia fantástica: A fantastic museum, massively exceeded my expectations! Plenty of useful information boards that put all the exhibits in context, and the way the artefacts are presented is innovative and engaging. As a qualified archaeologist who loves to visit museums abroad I can honestly say this was one of the best I've visited! It covers the prehistoric, Roman and Medieval periods, including an area on underwater archaeology and shipwrecks. Tickets cost 30 kuna for an adult and includes a free leaflet.
Experiencia fantástica: Very interesting exhibition about ancient Roman times. The rest in my opinion not that good. Worth visiting.
Experiencia fantástica: There are a few people in the museum so everybody can enjoy viewing at their own pace. Entry ticket is 30 HRK (no discounts).
Experiencia fantástica: Just fantastic museum
Experiencia fantástica: Interesting permanent exhibition or Roman artefacts
Experiencia fantástica: The second floor is the most interesting part of the museum, the only problem is the long texts. They really need an audio guide, which they do not have. The other two floors have a lot of information for the area but it's difficult to follow. They do not accept cards.
Experiencia fantástica: One of the best archeology museum I've seen. They really did a lot to make the museum interesting and provide a big picture and continuous storyline. This is rare with too many museums just showcasing a bunch of artefacts with little explanation. The insights into the "prehistoric" culture was a standout to me. The "antiquity" section has a need maze like layout and provides a very thorough picture of Roman culture in Dalmatia.
Experiencia fantástica: The museum its self is quite small. It took me about 30-40 minutes to walk through and read the descriptions. There is no elevator inside and the exhibitions are on three floors. So if you use a wheelchair it will not be easily accessible. Same goes with baby strollers. A ticket cost 30 hrk and they have a good AC inside.
Experiencia positiva: I'm sure it is a great museum but we couldn't go in because they only accept cash, which we couldn't afford to spare due to limited ATM withdrawal allowances. Sales tax in Croatia is very high, so i understand many businesses don't want to pay it, but for a reputable historic centre like this to not accept card feels somewhat ridiculous to me.
Experiencia positiva: Cannot pay with the card! Why? As museum it's probably subsidized anyhow. Is it that hard to get a card terminal?! Museum itself is good, and well orginized inside. Also the artifacts are good quality, real treasures.
Experiencia positiva: Very interesting museum with quite a rich exposition of prehistory and antiquity items and art. I've learnt a lot about Dalmatia and its history, to me who knew literally nothing before it was really interesting. A bit disappointing that there is no audio or any kind of interactive content whatsoever, but then it's an old school museum with long texts which also has its charm. Depends on your personal preference, the content is really interesting on its own. I definitely recommend to anyone who is interested in some history of the place where you're on holidays.
Experiencia positiva: Good museum, We went here during April which isn't tourist season. I think this might have been the reason that there was no active exhibition here. However the permanent exhibition was very impressive and fun to see. On the 2nd floor (the start of the exhibition) we see a lot of pottery, stones, and fibulae (the dress fasteners). When we go down to the first floor we get to the Roman empire, this is a considerable part of the entire exhibition, they have coins, stones, accessories, even dice. On the ground floor we get to see the last part of the exhibition which tells us about the last few years before the croats arrive. Tickets were 30 kuna, or 4.50 euros. We could only pay cash.
Experiencia fantástica: The museum entrance is 30kn (4€). It is best to start at the top floor, then the first floor and then the Ground floor. The first floor is dedicated to the Roman Antique in Zadar. I recommend you take your time here and read every card, every poster. Lot of valuable and interesting information. The stuff there is also beautiful and interesting. We enjoyed it a lot. Spend there about 2hours but I read everything. :))
Experiencia fantástica: The two upper floors are a wonderfully documented tour through the prehistoric era and roman times. On the lowest floor you'll find a few early croatian antics. A modern and climated museum experience that can definitely be recommended!
Experiencia fantástica: Really good exhibitions. Children loved it!
Experiencia fantástica: I highly recommend a visit. The museum is new. The exhibition is small, but gives a very clear idea of the skills of sculptors and artists (in the broad sense) of the time. And sometimes there are really masterpieces. The halls are beautifully decorated. All periods and items are timetabled in detail, one can spend hours reading. Very well represented are materials from the excavations of the ancient forum in Zadar and other areas of ancient Dalmatia. In the museum store there are many interesting souvenirs.
Experiencia fantástica: A wonderful comprehensive museum of local archeological finds. Very dear to my heart. Watched over by the nuns from the neighboring monastery. Especially knowledgeable is Sister Cecilija.
Experiencia fantástica: An excellent collection of prehistoric, roman and early medieval artefacts, with good signage in English. Well worth an hour of your time.
Experiencia fantástica: If you want to know more about Croatia and especially city of Zadar it is a place to visit. At the highest floor there is a exhibition about times BC up to Roman times. 1st floor is really great prepared part about Roman Empire in general with parts about Croatian area.
Experiencia fantástica: Nice museum, but small. There are beautiful views from the windows of this museum
Experiencia fantástica: First class museum with wonderful artefacts detailing a rich history which includes Roman.
Experiencia fantástica: Great collection with authentic Croatian finds, not stolen artefacts from around the world. Extremely enjoyable and definitely worth the visit.
Experiencia fantástica: One of the best Roman collections anywhere in the world. Brilliant
Experiencia fantástica: Nice museum, exhibits are well described in Croatian and English. I particularly enjoyed the second floor, dedicated to pre-Roman times, one of my friends liked the Roman part best and second friend liked the post-Roman exhibition on ground floor, so I guess they are all very nice!
Experiencia fantástica: Very nice museum with a great presentation of ancient history of Zadar and the Croatian coastlin
Experiencia fantástica: Amazing collection and well displayed to. It's obligatory for history lovers who visit Zadar.
Experiencia fantástica: Local finds in a small and fine museum. Nice to visit.
Experiencia fantástica: Old city still alive. Every part of the Old city used for somewhere alive today. Walls of the city is part of the national Bank
Experiencia fantástica: Very nice museum with lots of artifacts and story telling.
Experiencia fantástica: The museum offers a wide range of archeological artefacts from the region and if you are really interested in the topic you are going to need some time for the 3 floor exhibition. The top floor starts with the pre-roman Era, very interesting pottery and it is nicely displayed. The 1st floor shows amazing Roman objects from the Zadar region, and every year since we have been there they change something so you can always see new things. On the ground floor the museum shows experimental archeology concerning ship building techniques. All in all, the museum is always worth a visit
Experiencia fantástica: Smartly organised museum of archaeological artefacts. Worth of visit if you are interested in history.
Experiencia fantástica: Amazing exhibits with very detailed descriptions to help you form a clear idea about the past of Croatia
