Experiencia fantástica: Huge collection of (mostly) Roman stellae and sarcophagi. Well described and even transliterated. Unfortunately main building is under renovation and exhibition is unavailable. They offer 50% discount for the tickets because of that (20 kuna for adults). Still worth the short walk, even to see a beautiful building and lapidarium.

Experiencia positiva: @Jess Gibson is completely right. This museum has so much potential. Could be 5 stars if more effort was put into the information ie English. There are book guides of the area for 25kona but not of he museum itself. It's 40kn or about $6usd to enter. Really amazing artifacts. Very well displayed. Just not very much information. Great building too.

Experiencia positiva: This museum has so much potential. It has AMAZING Roman artifacts and yet, there’s basically no information at the museum about what exactly you are seeing. There are little plaques that tell you what each item is but there’s no big picture on Roman life in Split. Further, the exhibit on Vis has no English information at all. This could be a five-star museum with just a bit more information for visitors.

Experiencia fantástica: I am sure we this is one of the best archeological museums I've seen. I am happy to be there even though the exhibition in the building is currently closed and only the garden is available (you get 50% discount for this reason). Beautiful mosaics, well preserved gravestones and columns. All beautifully arranged and well-lit. What is even more important, you can wander around the exhibits, smell and touch them. I definitely recommend to visit this museum.

Experiencia fantástica: Good museum but right now only outside exhibits accessible, entire inside part of museum under rearrangement. Still worth visiting even just for the outside exhibits, a few nice mosaics, lots of roman stones and statues/ fragments.

Experiencia fantástica: For me best museum in Split. It was no issue with providing exhibits with all monuments and history around. Building is beautiful and you will spend nice time here. Last time I was here was on the Nights of the museums with free entrance and it was really crowded so I will have to visit again.

Experiencia fantástica: Beautiful green spatious museum of artist Mestrovic . Outside of the museum of art are sculptures all over the garden where usually can see elite weddings or special events ,this are my cousin wedding photos. On the top of the stairs is inside of the museum,very nice and you need to pay and with custos in the museum arrange for a visit to get knowledge of the museum, history of the artist Mestrovic and museum as the building.Beautiful .,..no other way to describe it , its just the experience that you have to go through and see it. Under must ! when you are visiting the country not just city Split. Maby even arrange to marry there (you don't need to be super model & actress like my cousin)

Experiencia fantástica: Fantastic museum in a beautiful building and grounds. Very cheap entry, not busy so easy to enjoy a proper look around at your own pace and take everything thing in. We'll varied selection of different cultures and eras. Well worth a visit.

Experiencia fantástica: Awesome collection of Croatian, Greek and Roman artifacts. Small but definitely worth the hour or 90 minutes to check everything out.

Experiencia fantástica: This is the oldest museum in Croatia. When it was founded in 1820 this museum was sufficient for a collection of archeological monuments and objects. Today it has around 150,000 units, of which only a small part is in a permanent exhibition. More than a modest exhibition space is called a solution that the fund will not permanently remain hidden treasure. The museum building complex with a garden is more than attractive The Museum Garden is beautiful and full of stone monuments underneath the porches that surround it. Eight collections lead us into the ancient world from prehistory to the Middle Ages in Dalmatia, especially the former city of Salona near Split.
