Experiencia fantástica: Für 3€ kann man sich alte Trachten, ein paar Gegenstände und ein paar Fotos ansehen. Und Zugang zur Terrasse, wo wir zufällig von unten einen Chor hören konnten. Sauberes WC und netter Weise auf das Gepäck aufgepasst.

Experiencia positiva: Museum is cheap, has some interesting exhibits and comes with a great view from the vestibule, whose entrance is around the corner. Cons are that while everything is labeled and translated into English, the information boards in each room are in dry, highly specific and very boring academic language (at least in English; they are also in Hrvatski, Deutsch, Français and Italiano). More simple-language narratives and fewer words overall would have been nice. For example, I noticed that a lot of the clothes were festooned with Austro-Hungarian coins. That’s interesting and unusual. Would have been nice to know how, where and why that got started. Also, the place is mostly breeze- and shade-cooled, even though there was at least one heat pump. God knows how Dalmatians survived in these heavy, wool outfits! Bathrooms / WC was free and clean.

Experiencia fantástica: Ethnographic Museum houses ethnography of the whole Dalmatia. It houses a collection of traditional costumes, jewelry, lace, weapons, toys and tools. Best of all you can climb the Roman terrace encircling the top of the vestibule, and the views are reason enough to visit the museum.

Experiencia fantástica: Visiting this museum is a must! The contents alone warrant this, however the museum also has access to the rooftop of the Vestibule! The views are wonderful! Experiencia fantástica: Split war früher eher als Durchgansstation bekannt, wenn es mit der Fähre auf eine der vielen Insel ging. Davon ist jetzt nicht mehr zu spüren – Dank der wunderschönen Altstadt. Diese ist ebenfalls Weltkulturerbe der UNESCO.

Experiencia fantástica: Interesting museum to visit both for the exhibits (traditional clothing, jewelry) and for the building itself, which is part of the ancient Diocletian Palace and over the years parts of the space were used as a mansion, convent, and church. Nice outdoor spaces and views over Old Town Split. Entry is 20 kn ($3).

Experiencia fantástica: This is a lovely museum in the old town of Split. It houses a collection of historic costumes, jewellery and photos of the area and, when we visited, a temporary exhibition on the ground floor of photographs from East Africa. The building itself is also beautiful and there are great views from most of the windows across old Split. If you're visiting, ask about how to get to the roof terrace, which is actually above the old vestibule of the Roman palace - very quiet and peaceful with great views as well.
