Experiencia fantástica: Artifacts from different time in history throughout Japan might give you another perspective on the culture, and the image of the country.
Experiencia fantástica: 1日で全て見るのは疲れますが、ざっくり3時間くらいで凡そ見学できると思います。植物園まで行くとさらに1時間。 古代や縄文時代の展示スペースも大きくなってから、更に見応えがあります。
Experiencia fantástica: It was nice to see Japanese rich historical culture.. It was interesting from the eyes of a foreigner..
Experiencia fantástica: Lik
Experiencia fantástica: Educational. Strongly recommended for those who are interested in Japanese history, culture and can read Japanese.
Experiencia positiva: Superb facility for leaning Japanese history in quite short hours. Unlike the similar facility inUeno, this one is very quiet thus you can spend as much as you want depending on your interests.
Experiencia fantástica: It's one of the best history museums I've been to. I spent two hours in yhere with my students and none of them wanted to leave. As it was, we barely covered around a quarter of the entire museum. It's more convenient to reach if you have a car, but there's also a bus you can take from Sakura station.
Experiencia fantástica: Good place to know the Japanese history. This national museum is managed well. It takes over 3 hours to get to know the details.
Experiencia fantástica: A truly wonderful museum, really big with so many things to see! The exhibitions were so well done and the staff very professional. A great experience and a must see for anybody who loves Japanese history.
Experiencia fantástica: Huge museum, takes more than five hours to go through, go early!
Experiencia fantástica: The history of gender exhibit was one of the kind.
Experiencia fantástica: This was my 3rd museum I visited in Japan and it's not in Tokyo! It's really nice for visiting alone, with a partner, friends or family. If you want to know more about Japan then definitely visit this museum. I stayed about 4 hours here. There's a restaurant, souvenir shop, many sitting areas and a nice park beside it you can enjoy a walk outdoors as well. Most text is in Japanese but you can get an English audio guide. Please be respectful as it is quite quiet throughout the museum. Highly recommend!
Experiencia fantástica: Very huge Museum. From the beginning of Japanese cultures in ancient time to the present they show. It takes half a day, but the last three parts I was in a hurry, so it's better to spend a day to watch closely.
Experiencia fantástica: I was arrived @ 9:32am. In entrance,Wheel chair path have there. Entrance free is 600yen for adult. U need to fill contact information if u are tourist but it is ok. U can take flyer of gallery(have language option). In all gallery, each historical thing can read using braille for blind. There are 6 gallery, one souvenir shop & one restaurant.
Experiencia fantástica: It's very informative and eye-pleasing with a lot of beautiful modeling. You can easily spend two or more hours with cheap admission.
Experiencia fantástica: I was initially expecting a small exhibit; glad I was wrong!! This museum is enormous and full of historical facts about Japan. My children and I learned a lot of information about the history of Japan. The fascinating fact was the similarities between ancient Japanese and Native Americans. It shows that we are not all that different.
Experiencia fantástica: Great place for family who wants to know about Japaneses' living.
Experiencia fantástica: Very long and detailed, picturing every period from jômon onwards. Very affordable and a reasonable cafeteria is also included. Beautiful garden and a sadô workshop were also present
Experiencia fantástica: Amazing history and culture of it! Full of useful information and how japan became itself! Strongly recommend! If you love culture this is a must!
Experiencia fantástica: I've been here! Totally! Excellent museum! I am a traveler's tale.
Experiencia fantástica: Amazing, clear, n narural
Experiencia fantástica: good
Experiencia fantástica: Far from Tokyo but really worth place to g
Experiencia fantástica: This museum should be advertised much better. When I visited Tokyo National Museum, I was shocked that the museum was all about Japanese traditional arts, but not at all about its history. This one in Sakura, Chiba fills the gap and does wonderful job of explaining Japanese history, although some fundamental questions are still left unanswered, untouched : for example, why kofun period suddenly began ? (who were the people who began it) From Keisei Sakura station, it's nice walking distance but just be careful not to just follow the main road which could be a bit dangerous for pedestrians at the end. Instead use parallel smaller streets. The museum restaurant didn't seem very attractive.
Experiencia fantástica: Great museum
Experiencia fantástica: Great collection of iPhone prehistoric items from all around Japan. Vast greenery adjacent to the museum. Recommended during samurai season
Experiencia fantástica: A must, everything you want to see or know about the history of Japan
Experiencia fantástica: Absolutely amazing museum, with incredibly detailed exhibits. The collection starts with a huge collection of very early (10,000+ years ago) artifacts and continues to the present day with exquisite dioramas, models, and multimedia presentations to bring the period objects into context. The grounds are and architecture are beautiful, and the central garden / rest area can also be used to quickly move gallery to gallery. The food in the restaurant was very good as well, really all the details have been covered. While they have the best and most comprehensive foreign language audio guide I have seen in Japan, at least in English, going with a Pixel running Google Lens (on Google Fi) is highly recommended. I was able to translate every sign through the viewfinder in seconds, allowing me to experience anything in the museum I wished to see. Keeping Lens running for the entire visit will drain your battery though, so bring an external battery to recharge. One incredible exhibit is a house from the 1800s which was donated to the museum. The house is from Kesennuma, a town which was hit extremely hard by the tsunami of 3/11/11. The house was destroyed, but it's pieces were collected and transported to the museum where the house was reassembled and can be toured. That amazing story within a story should help explain some of the other exhibits to non-Japanese as the spirit of that project, to me, is similar to many other stories from Japanese history. I was in Kesennuma and several other locations in Tohoku in the months after the disaster, and I can't really describe the experience in words. This exhibit, and the fact that it exists at all, do a much better job of communicating the aftermath of the tsunami and the Ganbarou spirit that followed than I ever will. One day really isn't enough time in the museum in my opinion. It would be well worth securing a hotel nearby and spreading the visit over at least a couple days. There is that much depth and content. I could go on and on about this museum, the experience is quite remarkable. It's truly something Japan should be proud of. I would give it six stars if I could.
Experiencia fantástica: So much information, do little time!
Experiencia fantástica: Great place for understanding Japanese history.
Experiencia fantástica: Very informative and well laid-out.
Experiencia fantástica: If you are interested in Japanese history and culture, this place is totally worth visiting, despite the long distance travel from the beaten track for tourists. As shown in the photos below, the museum exhibits consist of artifacts, both real and replica, miniature dioramas, and their descriptions, thoroughly covering from the prehistory to modern. The only downside is that the descriptions are practically available only in Japanese, and that you must rent a portable audio guidance (free of charge, and comes in English, Mandarin, or Korean) to understand what the displays stand for. Make sure to reserve plenty of time for the visit, as it will take a full day to explore all the exhibitions.
Experiencia fantástica: Stellar Museum! From past to present, you will find a lot of good information about the history of Japan. Many relics there. Nice restaurant there, and gift shop. The gift shop has a Chiba-Kun corner!
Experiencia fantástica: The best history museum in Japan.
Experiencia fantástica: An informative place.
Experiencia fantástica: Unusually big museum with a lot of exhibitions, models and helpful staff.
