Experiencia fantástica: Beautiful iconic place in Dubrovnik. Some parts of Game of Thrones were recorded here and you can understand why when you visit the place.

Experiencia fantástica: Get the Dubrovnik Card and then this place becomes obvious to add to your list of placed to visit. The 2 green men are the best part of this places, such workmanship from so long ago.

Experiencia fantástica: Nice museum in an old Dubrovnik palace. Plenty to see about the history of the city and how it worked centuries ago, laws, politics, prison cells etc. Upstairs there are objects and paintings from the period. Plus (in Sept 2022) an exhibition of excellent photos from the Serbian bombing in 1991, very sad and evocative. Good labelling in English, and there's a free app too. Make sure you get a Dubrovnik Pass (this site is included) or else you'll be paying over the odds on your ticket.

Experiencia fantástica: Saw an absolutely fabulous Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra concert at this venue. The inner courtyard is beautiful but also has an open central roof; superb acoustics and a magical, unstuffy but aesthetically beautiful venue.

Experiencia fantástica: My top choice palace/museum in Dubrovnik. Today the Gothic- Renaissance Palace had been turned into the Cultural History Museum with artfully restored rooms, portraits, coats of arms and coins. Beautiful interior with finely carved capitals on the exterior columns and the ornate staircase in the atrium.

Experiencia fantástica: On a hot day, this is the place to be. It has an open space and some great architecture. Well worth the money but don't forget to take a look at the Dubrovnik discount card to reduce the cost.

Experiencia fantástica: In the Rector's palace is home to a museum where you can view furniture from the time of the Republic and artworks from the 15th to 19th Century. At the entrance to the Rector's Palace is the inscription: Obliti privatorum publica curate (Forget the private and worry about the public), real proof of how important the state was to Dubrovnik people at that time. In the Rector's Palace you can visit the notorious prison, see antique furniture and other useful objects, picturesby native and foreigna rtists, mainly Italian masters, the Republic's numismatic collection, old weapons and objects from the Domus Christi pharmacy in the 15th Century. On the first floor you can see the bedroom and working cabinet of the Dubrovnik Rector.

Experiencia fantástica: The history both on display and also part of this palace is pretty incredible. You can really feel it seeping through the stones as you wander around the exhibits. I especially loved the sunny courtyard (at midday) and the Croatian War for Independence memorial. Beautiful and sublime.

Experiencia fantástica: Great place to see the artitecture, some chests and the place where Rector used to live. There is also a museum inside of it which is amazing to see. If you buy the city pass it comes included in it.

Experiencia fantástica: The place to walk the same stairs as daenerys. Tip: Make sure you get a Dubrovnik day pass to reduce the cost of entry to all these museums.

Experiencia fantástica: Nice little museum and former palace. The bannisters it the inner courtyard are cool and unusual so keep and eye out. Some of the museum sections are reaching about to be appealing. Like a history of different chest of drawers which is not well labelled and a history of the story boxes interesting but a bit overblown.

Experiencia fantástica: The Rector's Palace (Croatian: Knežev dvor) is a palace in the city of Dubrovnik that used to serve as the seat of the Rector of the Republic of Ragusa between the 14th century and 1808.[1] It was also the seat of the Minor Council and the state administration. Furthermore, it housed an armoury, the powder magazine, the watch house and a prison. The rector's palace was built in the Gothic style, but it also has Renaissance and Baroque elements, harmoniously combining these elements Originally it was a site of a defence building in the early Middle Ages. It was destroyed by a fire in 1435 and the town decided to build a new palace. The job was offered to the master builder Onofrio della Cava of Naples, who had previously built the aqueduct. It became a Gothic building with ornaments sculpted by Pietro di Martino of Milan. A gunpowder explosion badly damaged the building in 1463. The renewal was offered to the architect Michelozzo of Florence. But he was rejected in 1464 because his plans went too much in the style of the Renaissance. Other builders continued the work. The capitals of the porch were reshaped in Renaissance style probably by Salvi di Michele of Florence. He continued the reconstruction from 1467 on. The building suffered damages from the earthquake of 1520 and again in 1667. Reconstruction was in Baroque style. A flight of stairs and a bell were added in the atrium. In 1638 the Senate erected a monument to Miho Pracat (by Pietro Giacometti of Recanati), a rich shipowner from Lopud, who had bequeathed his wealth to Dubrovnik.

Experiencia fantástica: Apart from the walls the dubrovnik pass gives you access to a few different location. This was by far the best and is probably the only attraction I would pay on it's own to access. It has plenty of rooms with history and information and the architecture is beautiful. They had a coin exhibition with was a bonus and safe chests were very interesting.

Experiencia fantástica: Well maintained tiny little palace within the old town. They have a museum, a coffee shop and an exhibition space. The place looks great from the outside at night. Entry fee applicable.
