Experiencia fantástica: If you visit Crete you HAVE to visit this museum, which is considered to be one of the best typography museums in Europe. The entrance fee (which is only 4 euros for adults) includes an exciting guided tour. In our visit Myrto stayed with us for more than an hour and described the story behind the exhibits... Among the many-many interesting museum's exhibits you will have the opportunity to see a replica based on the original instructions of the Gutenberg's typo machine and many original machines most of them fully functional. During the guided tour you will have the opportunity to print using one of the first original typo machines and to see, touch and use many typographic elements and to print and take as a souvenir your own piece of paper. The museum runs a poster competition and we saw the printed posters of the 90.finalists... A really great museum experience!!!

Experiencia fantástica: Magántulajdonban lévő múzeum. A tárlatvezető ingyen körbevezet, nagyon sok információt elmond a nyomdászatról, egyebekről. Itt található Gutenberg nyomdagépének egyik kópiája abból a 10-ből, ami Európában van. Saját újság címlapot is nyomtathatsz magadnak.

Man wird auf Englisch durch die Ausstellung von Satz- und Druckmaschinen bzw. Geräten geführt und kann auch selbst Hand anlegen. Dazu einiges künstlerisches und einige wirklich sehr alte Bücher. Experiencia fantástica: Great museum with many original presses. Unfortunately location is out of Chania and I believe that many tourists don't even know about this museum.

Experiencia fantástica: Amazing local museum, fascinating mix of art, history and functionality -- beautiful exhibition and wonderfully interactive for kids. Highly recommend, but go after 12 noon as mornings are dedicated to local school groups!

Experiencia positiva: There are some great machines, including a rare replica of the Gutenberg printing press, and our guide was extremely knowledgeable, patient and kind. However, it's a bit hard to get little kids interested, and some machines may be dangerous to them. If you have children, the upstairs section at the end of the tour can interest them and lead to many stories, as it's about the history of alphabets. The museum also has a small place where they can draw. It would be cool and would fit the museum to expand this and add some ink stamps that they can use on their drawings based on some of the museum's material, e.g. the old Venetian seal with a lion image. Experiencia fantástica: Die größte Überraschung des Urlaubs. Meine Frau hatte die Idee in das Museum zu gehen. Ich war nicht davon überzeugt bei über 30 Grad in ein Museum zu gehen. Aber ich lag falsch. Für aktuell 4€ Eintritt kommt man rein. Es hat uns am Eingang eine sehr freundliche Frau begrüßt, die uns gleich eine Privattour durch das Museum angeboten hat. So konnten wir die Geschichte von Buchdruck und Zeitungsdruck mit den verschiedenen Entwicklungsschritten gut nachvollziehen. Vielen Dank nochmal an dieser Stelle für die tolle Führung! Wer Interesse daran hat zu verstehen, wie Bücher und Zeitungen früher und heute hergestellt worden sind und wer sich allgemein für Technologie interessiert, für diejenigen ist das Museum eine Empfehlung! In the middle of a local industrial park, dive into the vast world of printing, mechanic to digital machines and even try printing yourself. By chance you might catch one of the cultural programs that are provided. After all the natural, historical and culinaric pearls of Crete, this little museum made our vacation complete. Thank you!

Experiencia fantástica: I really enjoyed visiting here. Typography wasn't something I was immediately gripped by but I actually found the museum really informative with varied and interesting exhibits to look round. It was also very reasonably priced and the tour guide was very friendly.

Experiencia fantástica: A very educational collection of old presses and typesetting machines hosted by the local newspaper. It was bigger than we expected with 4 rooms two of which were dedicated to machinery, and the other two to local printing history and writing systems of the world. The place is a bit hard to find when driving. Watch out for small white signs giving directions to the museum.

Finally a museum where the artifacts aren’t buried behind a glass coffin. And the guide is passionate and friendly. Definitely worth the trip. I wish all museums were like that.

A true gem of a museum (in a country full of incredible museums) hidden away in the city's industrial corner. If you are interested in printing, books and culture, it will be the best 4 Euro you have ever spent!

Experiencia fantástica: A place with a moving story, that lives to this day thanks to passionate people who care about typography and want to share it's history and growth with others. We came on a Friday afternoon and had a very warm welcome by a lady with dark brown hair and smiling eyes. She is an educator and journalist who works at the press, whose owners own the museum (I think our guide's name name is Alia but not sure if im spelling it right.) She's very knowledgeable and gave us an informative tour of the museum. She is only there on Fridays so be sure to go on a Friday for a intimate chat. The museum is much larger than imagined, spanning two floors with two separate areas, containing equipment and artefacts on typography, printmaking and even bookbinding. We spent a leisurely 2 hours in the museum going through the exhibits. Some were interactive- we experienced printing manually which was fun! The two house dogs are so loving and welcoming. Ticket price of 4 euros was well worth it, despite the location (bit further from town) taxi from town centre to the museum is about 13 euros. Thanks for having us! Highly recommend to visit!!!

Experiencia fantástica: A must-do for any typography enthusiast. In the industrial districts, this gem of a museum is hidden. The museum of very coherently put together and covers equal parts typography and equal parts printing. In the four € admission fee we got a guided tour of the premises which included several milestones for printing and detailed explanations of the machinery before we roamed the exhibition freely. During the tour we also got to try some of the machines. Everything is clearly labeled as to whether you're allowed to touch something or not. There's a small gift shop. My only regret is that I feel I didn't set aside enough time for the visit. As a final touch the staff helped us order a cab back to town.

Experiencia fantástica: Φοβερό μουσείο, με εκθέματα που δύσκολα θα βρει κάποιος οπουδήποτε άλλου. Η ξεναγός που ήταν εκει ημέρα Παρασκευή οπότε και πήγαμε, δημοσιογράφος της εφημερίδας χανιώτικα νέα, ήταν πρόσχαρη και πολύ παθιασμένη με αυτό που έκανε.

Experiencia fantástica: Wow! We visited the museum today with our 9-year-old daughter and were amazed by the plethora of exhibits and the wonderful assistance explaining everything to us. A really modern museum with great exhibits. The museum is really a great tip for families with kids, because it has interactive elements and some engaged guides that explain the history and importance of typography. It also includes some wonderful pieces of art around the theme of typography, writing and printing.
