Experiencia positiva: A beautiful building inside and out, and a lovely garden. The exhibits are very interesting and worth checking out - especially the royal costumes and furniture. Considering its right next to the citadel and included in the ticket price it's a good place to put the Royal Palace into context a little more. There is also a small exhibition of Cham artefacts. I agree with other reviews though that the information could be better.

Experiencia positiva: No photo inside is allowed. Please respect the rules. No entrance fee or included in Citadel entrance fee. It’s good to have a place to exhibit Nguyen Dynasty antiques. But it’s not well organized, poor description, less informative. Staff at the book counter was even sleeping when I got there. Play classical music from the West, for me this is a big NO when they can make it more local with other kinds of traditional music from Vietnam and especially Hue. Should visit but not happy about this place, such a poor museum!

Experiencia fantástica: Smallish but free with decent English explanations and some interesting antiquities. Definitely worth a stop if I’m the area. Clean western toilets if caught outside on the go!

Experiencia fantástica: That's a pity that taking photos inside is not allowed, this place is great! There are many historic artifacts with good explanations in English and the building is so beautiful itself. Don't forget to see the exhibition about Champa culture which is located in a small building on the back, next to the toilet.

Experiencia fantástica: Albeit small, this museum packs a punch by displaying top quality antiques from Vietnam’s imperial age. The building itself is lovely and it’s a welcome relief from the heat and intensity of the sun. No photos allowed (whoops) and descriptions on the items are in English. Really unique pieces and a distinct style albeit heavily copied from the Chines

Experiencia fantástica: A small museum very close to the citadel eat gate. Entry is free and no photography allowed inside. Note that you don't have to buy citadel ticket or any ticket to enter.

Experiencia fantástica: Great collection of royal antiques in a former royal building. Well worth a visit where you can get a glimpse into the way the royal lived their daily lives during the 19th and early 20th century. An hour and a half should be good for the visit to this beautiful museum
