Experiencia fantástica: Must bee seen
Experiencia fantástica: It’s a wonderful time visiting a place that's perfect for history enthusiasts.Getting an early start and purchasing cable car tickets in advance are great tips to make the most of your visit without waiting in long queues. The combination of history, cable car experience, and photography is quite an experience and need good 2 hours back and forth.
Experiencia fantástica: Super interesting! Only 5 euro entrance! Bought Some ( English ) books on the subject!
Experiencia fantástica: Nice museum with details about the formation. Amazing views from outsid
Experiencia fantástica: Very good museum to understand the Croatian war of independence. The museum is located in for imperial that was an important fort for the war and they have kept it original. The view is awsume.
Experiencia fantástica: Absolutely recommended. The visit left me emotionally shaken. Lots of pictures, stories, military equipment and other interesting things that I completely forgot to take photos of it. The tickets were only 5e per adult. You will spend about 30 min in there.
Experiencia fantástica: Very impressive. I recommend firstly to visit the old town and then go here. It is better when you have already see the places effected by the civil war as they look now. And here you can see the destruction the war brought here.
Experiencia fantástica: Great displays and documentary films of the war in the early ‘90s
Experiencia fantástica: Very interesting museum with a spectacular view !!
Experiencia fantástica: Very good war museum with heritage, documents, photos, arts and a nice panoramic view
Experiencia fantástica: Super!
Experiencia fantástica: Forget anything...
Experiencia fantástica: Nice view of Dubrovnik and you can teach there a nice piece of history of Croatia. Have to visit.
Experiencia fantástica: If you come up to Srd by cable car, here you can get the best view of the city and surroundings
Experiencia fantástica: Highly recommended. If you like history, especially if you have interest in recent wars, I would recommend this museum, set inside a historic Fort. Very informative and educational. Lots of interesting war memorabilia and guns too. 30 Kuna to enter, cash only no cards
Experiencia fantástica: It's a beautiful town. I visited it in 2018
Experiencia positiva: Enjoyed my visit, and appreciated learning more about the war and Dubrovnik. Beautiful view, and historical setting. Plenty of free parking, but tricky drive to get there with narrow roads and two way traffic. The limited focus of the exhibit on the conflict itself - without additional info about the background details, historical factors, motivations of different parties, etc. - left me confused about the causes of the conflict. So I'm eager to learn more, but I think the exhibition could enhance their impact by offering deeper details and a more robust overview of Croatian independence and following war.
Experiencia fantástica: We visited this museum five years ago. It is housed in an old Fort high up above the city the museum and provides an insightful retelling of the land attack on Dubrovnik by the Yugoslav army troops, from a clearly Croation viewpoint. Various rooms tell of the defence of the city by a handful of men. A highlight of our trip to the city. If you wish to use the cable car to get up to it I would certainly recommend waiting until the afternoon when all the cruise ships have left so the queues are much shorter.
Experiencia fantástica: A vivid memory of the 1991-1995 war. Obviously the Croatian point of view, but presented with a solid blend of national sovereignty, military strategy (done lightly for the casual audience), and humanity.
Experiencia fantástica: This museum is a must if you want to understand the intricacies of the war in this region. The picture and artefact collection is very good and definitely worth the visit, the views are also great.
Experiencia fantástica: We drove up the mountain just for the view ended up stumbling at the Homeland War Museum. It was very interesting and educational. Great images and memorabilia kept from the dark days the country went through. The view there is amazing, make sure to get there early, and walk all the way up to the roof. And if you are there at the right time you can hear the church bells from the city. Definitely a place to check out if you are visiting Dubrovnik
Experiencia fantástica: Although nothing mind blowing is on display (guns, munitions, helmets, clothing and various other memorabilia used during the defence of the Imperial Fort) I quite enjoyed this museum. An English language documentary (definitely recommend watching the whole thing if you have the time) plays in one of the halls and shows live footage of the shelling of Dubrovnik and the Imperial Fort among other events of the Croatian War of Independence 1991-1995. Going up to the terrace you get to enjoy the best view of Dubrovnik. The shell and bullet holes on the walls are still visible. Quite an authentic experience of the events from the occupation of Dubrovnik. Cost to enter is only 30 Kuna. Go and have a history dip in the not-so-recent reshaping of the geo-political map of Europe. Recommended.
Experiencia fantástica: A manageable walk up to the fort. Not for flip flops
Experiencia fantástica: So sad to see destroyed old town of Dubrovnik in 91-92
Experiencia fantástica: Brought back memories...and reminds us that it was not so long ag
Experiencia fantástica: Great view! Important information about the war for an independent Croatia
Experiencia fantástica: Interesting and informative way to learn about the war from Croatia's viewpoint. If you're on top of the mountain, definitely stop by.
Experiencia fantástica: An extraordinary exhibition telling the story of the attack on Dubrovnik in 1991 and 1992, with bachground information, detail of how the defense was organised and human sorry. If you visit Dubrovnik and admire the town then it is crazy to not also see what happened here so few years ago.
Experiencia fantástica: Interesting and informative museum, reasonable price (under 5 EUR for adults). Focuses just on the impact of the conflict on Dubrovnik, not on the conflict itself. Recommend to hike up the hill instead of taking the funicular, it's a very nice walk.
Experiencia fantástica: Well worth a visit
Experiencia fantástica: Great location, intresting and very moving. Well worth the cable car.
Experiencia fantástica: Very nic
Experiencia fantástica: Nic
Experiencia fantástica: Fantastic museum
Experiencia fantástica: A great and authentic museum about the war in the southern Croatia and about the defence of Dubrovnik. A lot of photographs and videos from the period which paint the situation of civilians and "ordinary" people caught in the war. But as other reviews say, it is good if you come with some knowledge about the context of the wa
Experiencia fantástica: Historical site with a lot of informations about the defending a City of Dubrovnik from the period of 1991 to 1995. When you enter the museum, you have a stairway to the roof top with a nice view of the old city from it.
