Experiencia positiva: A completely different experience in the centre of La Rochelle. Hard to believe this place was real and happened not so long ago in our history. We were really pleased we took the time to experience this Bunker.

Experiencia fantástica: An excellent museum for anyone with the slightest interest in the second world war and how it affected La Rochelle. A mass of exhibits in the original bunker, complete with illustrations on the walls painted during the war. Also, one gets a real sense of the life of the U-boat submariners. A good translation of the exhibit explanatory panels is available in English. Highly recommended.

Experiencia fantástica: Had a great experience. It did feel a bit random and the website didn’t do it justice but when we got into the bunker it was very cool. Lots to read and see, amazing to see the bar and barracks. The kids loved the trail and looking at everything. We also liked the videos which all had subtitles and were very informative.

Experiencia fantástica: It is more than a place to visit, it is an extraordinary experience. It is the second bunker you visit in France, the first being in Caen, but I find it much more interesting. It contains a lot of objects that can't help but arouse your curiosity, the historical and emotional load of this place makes it extraordinary. Without any hesitation I recommend visiting it

Experiencia positiva: This bunker is in the middle of the city and has been intact for over ,80 years decorated with marine frescoes. Most of the writing are in french , so do ask for a translated pamphlet -discover the history of La Rochelle from 1939 to 1945 ,headquarters of U-boat officers during World War II.

The owners, who also opened a former bunker in Brittany, have brought together and exhibited intelligently a wide range of objects to explain to visitors from all around the world what happened here during WW2. If you can only visit one museum in La Rochelle, then this one!

Experiencia fantástica: First class exhibits and history being kept in top condition. Highly recommend visiting. The bunker is located in the centre of the old quarter of La Rochelle. It was captured intact with all contents after German surrender 8 May 1945.

Experiencia fantástica: Very interesting visit - concentrates on the German occupation during the 2nd World war and unlike some museums is not depressing and helps to explain life at the time.

Experiencia fantástica: The museum is situated in a German WW2 command bunker. If you are a WW2 fan this museum is a must see. And even if you are not it is very interesting, as it presents many of the room as they would have been arranged during the war, and you can see pictures of La Rochelle during the occupation. I highly recommend it if you are spending a few days in La Rochelle !

Experiencia fantástica: Highly recommend going to the bunker. A wealth of information on the history of La Rochelle- videos are with English subtitles and the stories and exhibits are well worth the visit. It is warm down there in summer. Staff very friendly.
