Experiencia fantástica: Definitely the best reason to come to the island. It’s a restored residence of Ali Pasha and it’s packed with history. It has many different sections. Most of it is dedicated to Ali Pasha’s Life & Death - including some of his more unsavoury rulings. Another section has guns, swords and other equipment from the Greek Revolution. Finally, you can see caves that some residents hid in during the Italian Aerial Bombing in World War II. The museum is really great and for just €3 it’s money well spent to learn about the divisive character: Ali Pasha.

Experiencia fantástica: This museum is located on the island of Ioannina. The entry price is very reasonable and a regular boat service operates. The museum is laid out room by room, typical of the period. There are paintings and silver work, furniture, traditional dress etc.

Experiencia fantástica: Great place to visit and learn the history of Ioannina (Yanina or Yanya), Ali Pasha as a governor (vezir) and about Epirus as a whole. This place is super right with history and struggle and the museum gives a very good taster of the region as a whole. There are some great historical artefacts and good amount of context and explanation for them. The price is well worth it. Make sure you still up the steps to the caves and take the time to read the 'death sentence' on Ali Pasha.

Experiencia fantástica: A small island in the lake in Ioannina. There you can visit the small shops , walk the narrow streets and finally visit the house and museums of Ali pasha. A small summer house that was owned by the Pasha, yet great in historic importance for Greece and Turkey.

Experiencia fantástica: Take the boat from Ioannina towards Nisaki island. The museum is very worthy to visit with the guns collection of Ali Pasha and the beautiful traditional Greek dresses collection.

Experiencia fantástica: Very well taken care of. Audio information playing in the different rooms and good signs give a clear understanding of the era circumstances and various items on display. Peaceful, almost serene it invited for a relaxing hour on the premises.

Experiencia fantástica: It dominated for 32 years (1788-1822) in Epirus, most of Albania, Macedonia (up to Thessaloniki), the Peloponnese (except Mani), northern Evia, Thessaly, Sterea Ellada and parts of Skopje Monastery, Ohrid) He ruled with harshness and with justice. It was based on the Greeks. The official language of his state was Greek and in his courtyard were the later heroes of 1821, Karasakis, Athanasios Diakos, Markos Botsaris, the first Free Parliament of the Free Greece Anthimos Gazis, Ignatius of Hungary,During his years, Giannena became an international commercial, financial and, most importantly, spiritual center. The Naples and the Bulls of England and the Bulls competed to secure his alliance. At an early age he married - legendary Christian marriage - the legendary lady Vassiliki Kontaxis, who was in full control of her. During his omnipotence he built dozens of Christian churches and no mosques. Revealed "Saint" to Patokosmas the Aitolo! He allocated huge sums to the Friendly Company for his own political calculations. He built harbors and streets, scrubbed marshes, opened mines, built countless bridges, built dozens of public buildings. Experiencia fantástica: This place is unreal for a weapon lover and for someone that love history. You can find several weapons that belonged to Ali Pasha and real letters that are written in Arabic from the time he was alive. Also you can find the jewels and dresses belonged to Vasiliki as well as traditional costumes of each area that was under his control.

Experiencia fantástica: Informative and well presented in picturesque surroundings. My 10 year old enjoyed in and spent quite some time in the room the room that explained the 'drownings'

Experiencia fantástica: A must have experience, a journey back in time. Authentic traditional female and male clothing of Epirus. Silversmiths such as jewellery and weapons, paintings, lithographs, an authentic winter room, even a torture cave, approached from inside the residence. The museum is located in the island of Pamvotis Lake and you get there by a ferry. You buy the ferry tickets while on board. (2€ per person.).
