Experiencia fantástica: Der Berner Künstler Bernhard Luginbühl hat durch eine Stiftung sichergestellt, dass seine riesigen Eisenplastiken einen guten Ort zum Bleiben finden nach seinem Tod. In Mötschwil bei Kehrsatz kann man diesen Märchenwald mit seinen rostig-roten Geschöpfen mehrmals pro Jahr öffentlich anschauen. Und mit etwas Glück erwischt man eine Führung, die durch ein Familienmitglied Luginbühls durchgeführt wird. Man fühlt sich herzlich willkommen, im Park und im Beizli. Spektakulär! Freiwilliger Eintritt Bar oder Twint.

Experiencia fantástica: Einfach rundum toll und wirkt als Gesamterlebnis auf Körper & Geist. Auch die inbegriffene Führung war sehr kurzweilig und informativ. Ist nur vier Mal im Jahr offen; Richtpreis pro Person 18 Franken; für Gruppen ab 10 Personen kann man anfragen.

Experiencia positiva: We went to celebrate a family birthday. The sculpture park sits on 50 hectares of land and includes literally hundreds of mobiles, sculptures, figures, monuments, three sizeable buildings (including one private house). Through prior booking we were able to take aperitif and have a 3-course meal in the shelter of the bar area. After the meal, there was a guided tour by the manager, a young lady who had grown up nearby and who had known the Luginbühl family. Not only was she able to communicate unique insights into the character of the artist and his family, she recounted in great detail the story of the life of the artist and which works belonged to which period or inspiration. She was able to conjure a picture of the park in its heyday as the artist, assisted by his sons and long-term assistant, supported by his wife for the many and frequent dinners, created several gigantic works simultaneously, working from drawings, some of which are on display. It is hard to contain all the impressions of the figures, machines, juxtapositions of small and gigantic, 2D and 3D, moving and still, just for the eyes and just for play. If you want a unique unforgettable experience at the past home of a significant and successful contemporary Swiss artist, then you should make the effort to find this treasure trove, tucked away deep in the Swiss countryside just north of Berne.

Experiencia negativa: It is almost always closed, but you can see the sculptures through the fence. I wasn’t very impressed. Enormous amounts of steel more or less randomly welded together. The sculptures are standing abandoned in a wilderness. Rusty parts in what might have once been a garden. So if you are close I would suggest to spend half an hour there. Not worthwhile going there if you have to travel far.
