🗣️ Museo Gregoriano Etrusco: Opiniones
Experiencia fantástica: Often hello from the afternoon
Experiencia positiva: A large and varied collection very interesting!
Experiencia positiva: In 1837, the Etruscan Museum was founded by Pope Gregory XVI (1831 - 1846). This museum has archaeological discoveries that appeared during the excavations that were carried out from 1828 in southern Etruria until 1870, the year in which the Papal States had to limit themselves to the perimeter of the Vatican. The museum contains material from the 9th century BC. C. to the 1st century, and ranges from the Iron Age to material found in Etruscan cities. The ancient history of the Etruscans is told through ceramics, bronze, gold and silver objects that show that this was a particularly artistic civilization. It also has a collection of Greek vases, which were found in Etruscan cemeteries. Adjacent to this museum is a section devoted to Roman antiquities, from Rome itself and from Lazio.
Experiencia positiva: At first, it makes an amazing impression. The works of art are completely different and you can take a break from the Greco-Roman classics. It is clear that the Etruscans differed greatly in their culture, especially at the beginning. With time, however, they became culturally similar and the subsequent rooms are less and less unique. The last few are endless collections of ceramics and walking through them is tiring, which leaves a bit of a disgust. However, an additional plus is that most of the tours pass without stopping (or bypassing at all, if allowed by security), so you can watch and rest from the crowds in peace.
Experiencia fantástica: Great collection!
