Experiencia fantástica: This museum tells the story of mining mercury. You actually board a "train" to enter the mine and learn about mining in the 1800s, 1900s and 1950s. You see the tools, the technology, mining methods, and the safety gear. The mine itself has been closed for awhile and is only a reconstruction for visitors. However it is realistic and you understand how mining took place. Outside of the Miners Museum in Cape Breton, Canada (Glace Bay, Nova Scotia), this is truly a major resource in understanding the history of mining. The Canadian museum is about coal mining. Sensesi is a hard rock mine. Go here to learn about advances in technology and scientific thought.
