Experiencia fantástica: What an interesting little community. If you like history of the town this is a place to visit. Grown ups would appreciate it more as their museum starts from the 1800s
Thank you, we try to make history accessible with something for everyone.
Experiencia fantástica: GREAT to have a tour of Rosebud museum. It was a Chinese laundromat. The story is that over 100 years ago, the owner suddenly disappeared leaving behind the town's laundromat. Nobody wanted it. So the town folks converted it to a musuem.
Repurposing buildings is an important part of the Rosebud legacy. The museum was many things, a laundry, a cafe and a IHC parts dealership. Now it contains a paperback library along with railway, coal mining, Calgary Stampede, antique tools, over 100 pairs of salt and pepper shakers and water colours and drawings of Ray W. Salt a famous birding author. There is something for everyone, you can even sit down and play Crib or Crokinole.
Experiencia fantástica: Best small town museum in Alberta!
Thank you. Your dad and mom have a great deal to do with that.
Experiencia fantástica: Great little regional museum. Had a great chat with the volunteer there. Some pretty interesting exhibits. Worth the trip to visit.
Thank you, we like to know that our work is worthwhile.
Experiencia positiva: The museum is pretty cool. There is not that much stuff in it but Rosebud is pretty small. Some of the stuff in the front room was less small town Alberta but it appears that the museum is also a library of sorts for the community. Museum is by donation. It’s great to keep community history alive so don’t hesitate to err on the side of generous.
Small but mighty ;) For a hamlet of 87 people we think we do pretty well. (3300 square feet)
