Experiencia fantástica: Definitely a hidden gem in Edmonton. So many cool artifacts / relics on display including ones you can touch! Highly recommend checking it out. Parking here can be a pain
Experiencia fantástica: It's a small museum in the basement but there's DINOSAURS!
Experiencia fantástica: Great museum. Was there in 2019. But is it open now?
Experiencia fantástica: Enjoyable exhibits, interactive and fossils that you can touch.
Experiencia positiva: No appointment needed. They know what to do. I was satisfied and he said I can drive 15000km with that oil.
Experiencia fantástica: The exhibition is not big, but very interesting. You can touch some of the exhibits. There is also a room with a good collection of stones and minerals.
Experiencia fantástica: Really cool hidden museum, worth trying to find
Experiencia positiva: Place to learn
Experiencia positiva: Excelente lugar.
Experiencia negativa: Be warned the museum is inaccessible due to Covid. They have locked their buildings down and after paying $5.50 for parking we were unable to get in at all. Quite a shame because it looks super cool.
Experiencia fantástica: Kind of small but really cool to be able to access real fossils and read about them at the university. Has two tables and can be a great study space due to the quietness and the size of the museum.
Experiencia fantástica: Small but lots of ancient items one can see.
Experiencia fantástica:
Experiencia positiva: There is an excellent collection of prehistoric materials here ranging from the stromatolites and the first signs of life on Earth to full skeletal reconstructions of large dinosaurs. Walking the perimeter will take you from the dawn of life to the not-so-distant past, with an impressive amount of full skeletons, fragments, interactive/hands-on items, and enough information to keep you engaged for an hour. Free entry, there are tables to study at, quiet atmosphere. I would also recommend checking out the also free to enter mineral museum just down the hall, there’s a beautiful assortment of all kinds of rocks and minerals and crystals!
Experiencia positiva: Interesting and very well laid out.
Experiencia positiva: Private and informative, and well organized.
Experiencia positiva: Nice Clean!!
Experiencia positiva: Good dinosaur
Experiencia fantástica: I was amazed at the sheer number of hidden basement museums on campus, this has to be one of the best.
Experiencia fantástica: Small but mighty. The wees were excited. Even more so by the rock museum down the hall. The 10.month old was thrilled with the exhibits at her level.
Experiencia fantástica: Tiny little museum down the hall from the mineralogy museum, hidden away in the basement but very nice and quiet. Not worth making a long drive, by any means, but nice all the same.
Experiencia fantástica: Tiny little museum down the hall from the mineralogy museum, hidden away in the basement but very nice and quiet. Not worth making a long drive, by any means, but nice all the same.
Experiencia fantástica: Fun place to take the kid. I recommend going at least once.
Experiencia positiva: Came here with my students for a field trip. The guide was great and interacted with the students well. She kept them engaged and showed them different fossils from different periods. Explained them and gave the students a chance to feel. A scavenger hunt was organized which gave the students something more tangible to do. More time for the hunt would have been better but we were short on time too.
Experiencia negativa: This is free but it is essentially just one room at the university. Describing it as a museum is a bit of an exaggeration. Calling it a display would be more accurate.
Experiencia fantástica: Free! A little hard to find but go into the basement and look for signs. The museum is more learning and less commercial focused. You can touch many of the items. The geology mineralogy museum is a few doors down and worth your time. You can see both in an hour.
