Experiencia fantástica: Es un museo lleno de historia del Condado de Strathcona. La entrada es gratuita, sin embargo, se te anima a donar. Un lugar genial para visitar también con niños.

Experiencia fantástica: El propósito de mi visita fue ver la exposición del Lakeview Resort. Mis abuelos eran dueños de Lakeview Resort y pasé allí cada verano hasta mi adolescencia. Fue fantástico ver fragmentos de la historia y el bajo de mi abuelo. Tengo algunas fotos y artefactos que llevaré para expandir la exposición. Todavía uso el escritorio de mi abuelo que estaba en la oficina allí y lo utilizo todos los días. Me alegra mucho que alguien pensara en capturar este momento en la historia de la música en el área de Edmonton. Gracias.

Experiencia fantástica: What a fun and informative place. Showed my age by saying, 'I had one of those when I was a kid' or ' do you remember when mum used that' Loved the place, and the staff were excellent. Also, there is no fee to enter.

Experiencia fantástica: This is a very cool place to visit. A local gem, it is located within the fist firehall and first RCMP station in Strathcona County. The volunteers and employees are extremely helpful and passionate about what they do. Strathcona County has so much more history than I thought there would be and the museum and archives do a great job of documenting and educating.

Experiencia positiva: Very cool place! They had part of it shut down for reorganizing etc. So I will have to go back once it's fully open! Staff was informative and friendly!

Experiencia fantástica: It was an awesome experience to see the Strathcona County Museum and Archives! We got a great tour and learned a lot about the county and I'm really looking forward to the new cool ideas they're planning to incorporate into the museum!

Experiencia positiva: Great little museum! Though they have the typical homesteader exhibits (which were really well done, I liked the school and the general store the best) there were also installations on Metis bead work, which contrasted interestingly with a display of World War 2 models done as scenes, in shadowboxes and dioramas. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. They really went out of their way to be accessible, and we got to discuss some stuff that wasn't on display, acknowledge the problems of presenting material history in the Canadian context, and talk about upcoming installations as well! All in all it was worth the time we spent there, easy to get to and around (the space is quite open, though there are a few tight spots such as doorways, and the floor is slightly uneven in places), and it was interesting with lots of material history and visitor enabled video. I'd go again. A more critical analysis in the interpretive material of the social, economic, and political contexts of the various installations would've complimented the dynamism of the museums displays. That is my only suggestion. Such attention would also enhance the educational value of the displays. Not only for those of us with greying hair, but especially for those generations of visitors for whom the 1980's were, 'the olden days.' But really, that's not an issue exclusive to this museum (and I've been to a few!) though it's the only reason this isn't a five star review. .

Experiencia fantástica: A beautiful spot if you want to hold a meeting with 40 or so people. I enjoyed having my condo board meeting at this venue. It was a great space with a lot of interesting things around to look at.

Experiencia positiva: Enjoyed going through the Museam which is housed in the old Fire and RCMP Station. Found it enlightening, would have liked to have been able to spend more time.

Experiencia fantástica: We rented the facility for a baby shower and had the best experience! Their program director Cindy was amazing - she gave us such a warm welcome and had the kids and adults alike so engaged that we are already looking forward to going back again. The exhibits are everywhere, from the area surrounding the event space to the rooms throughout, and are well crafted with so much to look at. They even brought out artifacts that corresponded with our theme! Highly recommend whether it be for a day visit or event.
