🗣️ Museo de Arte Figge: Opiniones
Experiencia positiva: Beautiful museum for the quad cities area. Looking forward to seeing more of it.
Experiencia fantástica: Road trip to Des Moines and decided to stop in this Figge Art Museum as a halfway point to look at some beautiful art work and to also stretch our legs. Building is huge and so beautiful by the water. We spent easily 2 hours inside with so much to see. There's a cute little gift shop where I purchased a Frida jigsaw puzzle as a souvenir. It was air conditioned in a hot summer day. Definitely a place to visit if you're in Davenport.
Experiencia fantástica: Cool museum. And interesting variety of art and sculptures. I recommend checking this place out.
Experiencia fantástica: The Figge Art Museum is a great destination when visiting Davenport. They have a diverse collection of art, ranging from Contemporary to the Middle Ages. Also, there is an extensive collection of Haitian art, full of color and vibrancy. We were able to spend several delightful hours, moving from gallery to gallery. It's definitely something we want to visit again on our next visit to Davenport.
Experiencia fantástica: Such a great night at the Figge Art Musseum! Had a great night there while in town for a work conference. Lovely tour and the view was fabulous! Hats off to you from Discover Ames, Iowa!
Experiencia fantástica: Very good art museum, definitely worth the stop. Unfortunately two galleries were being set up so I was not able to visit them, but everything else was very good. There is a good variety of exhibits, including Haitian works, Frank Lloyd Wright furniture, and some illuminated manuscripts. I was also pleasantly surprised by the photography display on the top floor, I was not expecting to like it as much as I did.
Experiencia fantástica: Very underrated art museum in downtown Davenport. Like almost criminally so. This seems like something you’d see in Chicago or New York. Went here numerous times growing up and it adds a lot to the art culture in the QC area. You’ll see really cool art from numerous time periods. Definitely worth checking out if you’re staying in town.
Experiencia fantástica: Great place. Amazing art.
Experiencia fantástica: A nice museum with an interesting collection. Glad I did visit.
Experiencia fantástica: The Art Gift store is Amazing always finding unique gifts....
Experiencia fantástica: Great place to spend an hour or two looking at art. The view of the Mississippi River is great, and they have an interactive place to sketch and enjoy the view.
Experiencia fantástica: Love this place!! Great for the kids! They have awesome permanent galleries that are awesome to look at every visit and they have awesome temporary exhibits. We went to the women and sports through history which was fascinating, we went to the wizard of oz exhibit which was to die for as an avid collector of all things oz! They also did a Buddhist relic tour once that was soo moving! Great space for hosting private events and they also show films from time to time that are fascinating!
Experiencia fantástica: This place is neat. They have a fun children's center and great views of the river!
Experiencia positiva: Very nice place with interesting art frames,I enjoyed visiting with my friends.
Experiencia fantástica: Beautiful art museum inside and outside. Classy events and displays and culture.
Experiencia fantástica: Staff is super sweet. For a small midwestern art museum their international relevance is impressive! Thank you.
Experiencia positiva: Various art here. There is lots of wide open space and some quiet viewing to really absorb the conveyed concepts and messages in the many great works. Friendly staff and rotating special exhibits.
Experiencia fantástica: Took a class to express my creativity! It filled the bill. The other students enjoyed it too.
Experiencia fantástica: Loved it, well organized, and there was no crowd! I'll be back when the 4th floor opens.
Experiencia fantástica: Last year I went to the Figge for the first time for our Art Educators of Iowa concert and I was absolutely flabbergasted about why I’d never been before. First, the were excellent hosts for our conference but I really want to compliment the curators. When I had visited there was a very diverse showcase of artists, and they were also honoring Dia de los Muertos. The space is large enough to spend an afternoon looking and learning about the artwork. I would recommend looking for any events that they host in the gallery as well; we participated in a sound bath meditation that was really special.
Experiencia fantástica: Great museum. Loved the frank Lloyd Wright items.
Experiencia fantástica: Very nice museum, with excellent displays, suitable for the whole family.
Experiencia fantástica: Thank you so much for the Halloween event my son and I had such a fun time. The exhibits were fun and staff was very insightful.
Experiencia fantástica: Great exhibits. I was there early on a Wednesday and pretty much had the place to myself, which made for a very quiet and personal experience.
Experiencia fantástica: Oh Figgee Art Museum was a Blast from the Past I just happen to go the weekend of Halloween and they had Day of the Dead displays a fortune teller a wet bar a lounge like a little museum and they had a photo place you can put a hat or funky glasses. I did bothe. Drinks excellent. They also have their own gift shop. Parking Great it's the building to the right of Figgee. I believe that is North Very clean place easy access I'm mobility and had plenty of room to push my walker w/ me
Experiencia fantástica: Great place to bring the kids, the open house had great activities for them as well.
Experiencia positiva: Wasn't impressed with the Snoopy exhibit. Kind of a waste. Nothing special to buy for it in the gift shop. Seemed very empty actually. Nice place, just not what I expected for my first time there.
Experiencia fantástica: A gem of an art museum. World class and local art on display. The atmosphere reminds me of art museums in much bigger cities. I was pleasantly surprised by the Haitian art collection. If you're in the Quad Cities you need to check out the Figge art museum.
Experiencia fantástica: My wife and I just had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Figge. Josie and the Figge team were great and made our day perfect. Josie was there making sure we didn’t forget a single detail along the way, she’s the best. We can’t say thank you enough.
Experiencia fantástica: Always enjoy the Figgie, went for the Charles Schulz Art display. I enjoyed it immensely, a great walk down memory lane. My 12 yo didn't think much of the stories but she went along and thought the strips funny.
Experiencia fantástica: Very nice museum. Open and spacious inside and out. Always a joy to go see a new exhibit.
Experiencia fantástica: Charles Schultz exhibit was a treat! Beautiful settong and building with wonderful collections. Staff and docents are kind and knowledgeable. Our first visit to Figge as part of the Alternating Currents free event series in the Quad Cities.
Experiencia fantástica: Very lovely small museum. The person at the front entrance was very welcoming and informative. For a smaller space, there was still plenty to look at, and the 2 featured exhibits at this time were wonderful. It was nice to see some local art mixed in as well. There were plenty of informative and interactive exhibits, too. We went during the free hours on Thursday.
Experiencia negativa: My son and grandchildren were having a great time at the Art Museum. The boys are little and we thought they would not be interested in the art but they were engaged! My grandsons enjoyed it when we read the stories and descriptions of various art out loud to them. Their littles eyes were captured in wonder with all the shapes, colors and sizes of some of the beautiful art. We decided the children needed a break, so we went to the family center and let them play and burn some energy. The family room was very hands on for the children. They could sit, draw, and read about art. The family center was very educational for the children - until it was not. There was a connecting room off one end of the Family room, which had gay pride flags displayed and an abstract of a persons body. The body art looked rather “adult” to me- maybe just my perspective. I felt uncomfortable with the art and wondered why the art museum would connect the Pride Room and Family room together? I felt the Museum was promoting Pride to the kids and why would they want to? I believe the Art Museum should be a learning center for children, especially in the summer, when parents may have more time to explore and teach art to their children. Seeing the Pride art room was connected to the family room by a glass door gave me a feeling of secrecy, and influence. Why is the pride room connected to the Family room? Why it so important for kids to observe? What’s the point?
Experiencia fantástica: A must stop for both locals and visitors. The permanent collection is fantastic and is worthy of multiple viewings. The exhibits have never disappointed as well. In general this art museum punches way above the weight of what would be expected for a metro of our size.
Experiencia fantástica: I visited when they had the brilliant Charles Schultz exhibit. Just fantastic! My entry was included with my cruise fare on my voyage with American Queen Voyages on American Countess.
Experiencia positiva: This is a wonderful small town museum with a varied collection stretching from European masters to Haitian multimedia. The Ansel Adams collection and the Grant Wood exhibits are not to be missed. Wonderful location on the shore of the Mississippi and there is a nice coffee bar and terrace. Overall a star and we give it four clams ( five stars on the millennial rating) on the coveted Five Quahog Rating Scale.
Experiencia fantástica: Multiple events and exhibitions, figure drawing on Friday nights, love the gift shop.
Experiencia positiva: Loved the Peanuts collection.
Experiencia positiva: A wide variety of artwork, but probably not much by any artists you would be familiar with. Beautiful building.
Experiencia fantástica: I went there to watch the 4th of July fireworks this year and I know that I will be viewing future 4th of July fireworks displays from here.
Experiencia positiva: Went for a reception. Employees were great. Area is too small for reception. Not much for parking.
Experiencia fantástica: I am a student and my college is in a program with the Figge, making my trip free. I really enjoyed the variety of the exhibits and galleries.
Experiencia fantástica: It's a phenomenal place to visit. Very clean place. Awesome art. Will recommend to friends and family.
Experiencia fantástica: Peanut exhibit worth the trip. Fun to read strips and follow the history of characters added to strip.
Experiencia positiva: Very nice mix of modern and contemporary American art
Experiencia positiva: Charles Schulz exhibit is minimal at best. Need to bring in something new. These are the same static pieces that have been on display for years. Price for entry: $6
Experiencia fantástica: They had great interactive stations for kids (and you can't beat the free admission July promotion they had going on!)
Experiencia positiva: Great displays and Exhibits. I didn't visit at the most active/eventful time for the museum, but what they had was great
Experiencia fantástica: Very nice art gallery...friendly workers.. Cool exhibits.Discounts for seniors and even more for AAA members...I paid $4!
Experiencia positiva: There was plenty to see and a nice variety of art. It took about 90 minutes to view all the art. I thought $10 was a little expensive, but it was a nice way to spend the afternoon.
Experiencia fantástica: The museum is full of various works of art. The staff are friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. They have a nice selection of items in the gift shop. We look forward to our next visit.
Experiencia fantástica: GREAT .... a must visit, architecture of the building, collections, curations, great staff and bookstore for a take home gift for family and friends. KIDS are welcome and activities planned during the month for art and social activities. Recent American River cruises bring additional "wow" from arriving g passengers. Traveling the globe, familiar with the best and obscure museums in noted and remote parts of the glove, memorable visit. D. Lasky
Experiencia positiva: Nice place to stop for 2-3 hours when you are here for the day.
Experiencia fantástica: Went to visit the Schulz exhibition of his comic work Peanuts. Fantastic display of Schulz's work and also in general the museum is free and has a good collection of American, Mexican art.
Experiencia fantástica: Stopped to check out the flooding in Davenport... by chance the museum was offering free admission... The displays were the fashion of women in sports. From way back in the early 1800s to present day. My favorites were the nautical influenced outfits and the rebellious but practical motorcycle accessories. Plus the unobstructed view of the flood waters from the top floor was interesting
Experiencia fantástica: It was awesome, the costumes of women in the past was amazing. We lucked out on the quilters guild show as it was the last day and the works were stunning. And Heidi draley Mc fall's exhibit was interesting the work and how she created!
Experiencia positiva: The traveling exhibits at the art museum are always worth seeing. Be sure to spend time enjoying the view of the Mississippi River and the outdoor spaces, too.
Experiencia positiva: Fun place. lots of different kinds of art. Not interactive so not a great place for little kids.
Experiencia fantástica: What a great place, they have nice exhibitions from local and nationally renowned artists. Admission price is low or free, depending on what they have going on at the moment. The museum store has some cool stuff. Staff are very nice and attentive.
Experiencia fantástica: I love this museum. Imagine my surprise when I saw a self portrait of my son's art teacher in high school hanging in an exhibit. I really liked the Haitian art. Colorful and expressive.
Experiencia negativa: Do not go here if youre a person who carries things in any sort of backpack. I have a mini backpack that's very small. It simply fits my necessities. I find them more comfortable than purses. I see a lot of children and adults wearing backpacks nowadays honestly. There were no signs at all stating "No backpacks." I was suddenly stopped by two workers who immediately told me to take it off without explaining anything. I have bad anxiety and sensory issues and need my bag with me. I carry earbuds with me and occasionally medicine in case I do get a panic attack. I tried explaining that to them but they said and I quote, "We don't care what's in the bag." "You just can't have it." Supposedly they were worried that I would be more likely to bump into the art with something on my back. People are allowed to bring in strollers and my cousin has a broken ankle and needs to use a scooter. They stated, "Well that's a medical reason." Mental health is just as important. I just found it really stupid and it definitely ruined my day. We were going to complain but they kept repeating over and over "That's the policy everywhere." It's a lie though. If there really was an emergency I wouldn't be able to have my things. They make you lock it in a cubby on the first floor. For mothers out there, if you do plan to bring a baby or a younger child they don't allow diaper bags either. They even stated that soon they were going to start taking bags before entry. I understand that it's an art museum and they're worried about things getting damaged but this is definitely going overboard.
Experiencia fantástica: Nice experience, but we were ousted at 4:45 and didn't finish the special exhibit.
Experiencia fantástica: Great exhibits and fairly accessible. We wanted to check out the museum during July bc admission was free! This was part of my birthday weekend and the art was very enjoyable.
Experiencia fantástica: I'm not good at art but the collections amazes me!! Price for entry: $10
Experiencia fantástica: Free in July 2023! Great exhibitions
Experiencia positiva: I went there in June 2018 and it was a good art museum and with a lot of art and paintings.
Experiencia fantástica: We have a wonderful day seeing all the art and sports outfits from the past. The kid's loved it.We will be back soon
Experiencia fantástica: Especially loved the "beyond the classssroom" exhibit and the Schulz exhiibit
Experiencia fantástica: Underrated museum, reasonably priced with a nice assortment of items over the 4 floors.
Experiencia fantástica: Phenomenal art museum! I would recommend Davenport on the art museum alone. This place wasn’t even that busy. The museum is as good maybe even better than some big city’s museums.
Experiencia positiva: Little art museum. A small kids area. The Charles Schultz floor was cool. It's just there a few months
Experiencia fantástica: I LOVED this place, my 8 (and a half) year old son spent three hours here and saw *everything*. We were here on the last day for several galleries, I look forward to returning in the near future to see what's new.
Experiencia fantástica: The art museum was so nice! It wasn't very crowded. Each floor had plenty of items to view, and the Peanuts exhibit was super cute. It was free admission when we went, but I would definitely pay. Overall, a nice experience.
Experiencia fantástica: Wow, this museum had some of the best paintings I have ever seen and I used to live across the street from the Detroit Institute of Art. The display on the top floor had no place here but everything else was spectacular. I particularly liked the Tiffany stained glass piece, the "Jungle Scene" oil, and the 7 piece tornado was absolutely stunning in it's detail. Another "jungle" painting by a Haitian artist were among my favorites and there were many more, not to mention the Ansel Adams display. Too much to list. Great museum.
Experiencia fantástica: My family and I took a trip to the Figge last weekend for their women’s sports fashion exhibit. It was so cool to see how women’s clothing and the activities considered sports have evolved over time. We’ve come a long way!
Experiencia fantástica: One day activity for those who live in Quad cities, the Museum displays arts created by students of different school districts in the nearby areas. They also displayed fashion in the US, back in the 1800s.
Experiencia positiva: Pretty cool place. Saw the exhibit about sports. Mostly it focused on women's role in sports in history. The Mississippi was over her banks at the time we visited the Figge so I added picture and a shirt video of people kayaking down River drive in Davenport.
Experiencia positiva: They have an excellent new Haitian collection this year. We love going to the Figge, especially on hot days. Free July ends today, but well worth the normal ticket price!
Experiencia fantástica: Living just 2 hours away, I had never been to the Figge and wow was I amazed at the quality and diversity of the art, including an impressive array of Haitian art and 2 pieces by Kehinde Wiley, whose work I had last seen in October at the Musee D Orsay in Paris. I'll be back!
Experiencia fantástica: Terrific museum. We were fortunate to visit on a day with free entry for the entire family! Helpful staff, great collection of 19th and 20th century American and European art. Bonus points for easy parking.
Experiencia fantástica: We went to our annual family reunion, and this museum was a great pass time in the area. Very interesting mix of art and perspectives. Extra kudos for the “Anne Lindberg: think like the river with poet Ginny Threefoot” installation.
Experiencia fantástica: This was a really nice experience. Floor upon floor of exhibits. On our visit we saw the amazing Women in Sports over the years exhibit. The clothing worn for each sport was highlighted and displayed. It was fascinating. Stop in the gift shop on your way out! Friendly staff and there are activities for kids and a place where they can do art projects.
Experiencia fantástica: The Figge is such a great resource for the community! There’s so much to see and learn about here - whether you’re really into art or not. The Life and Art of Charles M. Schultz was fascinating, and the works by local art teachers in #Beyond the Classroom was inspiring! There’s something for everyone here! I’d highly recommend a visit!
Experiencia fantástica: What a treasure for Davenport, IA! I highly recommend visiting this beautiful museum if you appreciate fine art. I can tell that it’s run by true enthusiasts & lovers of the art world. Such a unique place! Great gift shop too!
Experiencia positiva: A nice small town museum, not the biggest collection, but decent enough to spend a few hours. I enjoyed both the Snoopy and Haitian art. Lost a star as I was hoping for a little more based on the price point
Experiencia fantástica: Excellent, child friendly, wonderfully diverse!
Experiencia fantástica: Nice place to visit. Some of the display rooms were a little confusing. Worth the walk.
Experiencia fantástica: Nice art museum with some very nice exhibits!!!
Experiencia fantástica: Great museum. Enjoyed it much more than anything in Des Moines!
Experiencia positiva: Some wonderful pieces, but be advised that they lock exhibit halls well before they close preventing you from seeing them.
Experiencia negativa: Too noisy. Room was too small for the volume of the DJ. Food was not good. Also was cold (the food and the room). Also was told they were taking our table down after the meal so we had to sit in the bar. We are not comfortable sitting in bars
Experiencia positiva: It was a really fun experience I'm not at all an artsy person and my fiance convinced me to go and I had a good time. Only issue was a ton of the exhibits were closed.
Experiencia positiva: had some neat stuff that I liked
Experiencia fantástica: Surprisingly nice art collection. We enjoyed it very much and learned a few things. The back staircase has a fabulous view of the Mississippi River.
Experiencia fantástica: It is a smaller art museum then ones we’ve been to. Nice traveling exhibits and permanent ones. We are seniors so it was $6 each and $5 for our student child. They don’t change tax on anything since they are non-profit. The gift shop for the most part, was very reasonable. We went on a Tuesday so we had no issue parking.
Experiencia positiva: This is art museum, but i did not found it interesting. I would rather say, the collection is not reach compared to other art museum i have visited. One good thing is there are free parking. The day i visited there was event and the admission was free.
Experiencia fantástica: I love that the Figge Art Museum has worked on inclusivity and representation in their curation of art. They also offer multiple free entry opportunities so everyone has opportunity immerse themselves in the art.
Experiencia fantástica: As artists ourselves we were pleasantly surprised at the artworks on exhibit! Excellent * we enjoyed it very much! An added bonus - it was a free entry for seniors and they also had entertainment by the UNI dancers which was very nice!
Experiencia fantástica: Never been, July is free admission, there was a lot of cool art. Not just paintings. I would definitely go back!!
