Experiencia fantástica: You might wonder why would an Egyptian wing be in the Vatican Museums? Well, Pope Gregory XVI was an admirer of the Egyptian culture and he began collecting artifacts. Since then, the number has grown exponentially and it includes mummies, sacrofagi, hierogliphs and other artifacts. It's a good start of the Vatican Museums tour as it's the least spectacular, in my opinion. Just some artifacts bunched together in a few rooms. If you stop to read/listen to every single object here, you won't be able to make the full tour before they close.

Experiencia fantástica: This gallery is part of the Vatican Museums and consists of Egyptian sculptures, sarcophagus and art. The exhibits are really wonderfully preserved and maintained. There are some mummified Pharohs and sculptures of Egyptian gods on display. Very informative and interested. Totally worth the visit.

Experiencia fantástica: Its nine rooms exhibit some fine examples of Egyptian art from the third millennium to the sixth century BC. Highlights include basalt and wooden sarcophagi, sculptures of gods and pharaohs, bronzes, mummified heads, stelae with hieroglyphic inscriptions, statues of gods and animals, and papyri. It's quite eerie when I step into this room. I just took some photos and had a glance then i left the room quickly.
