Museos y Archivos de Clarington

Experiencia positiva: No se puede decir que no a un museo gratuito. Las exhibiciones estaban bien hechas, solo le quito 1 estrella por una selección minimalista. Sugeriría contactar a algunas de las generaciones mayores que están reduciendo sus espacios a medida que envejecen para donar y compartir sus historias. Otras ciudades hacen eso y tienen mucho que compartir. Me encanta cuando una comunidad se une para compartir y preservar su historia. Las instalaciones están limpias y tienen mucha luz natural, además sería un buen espacio para eventos.

Experiencia fantástica: En busca de postales y con poco tiempo para disfrutar de mi entorno, me pasé por aquí y encontré postales y folletos. El personal es súper amable. Regresaré otro día para ver las cosas con más claridad. Bowmanville es realmente un gran pueblo pequeño y relajado.

Experiencia fantástica: Qué lugar tan divertido para visitar con tus hijos. Pasé un gran rato explorando mini Clarington y mirando el medio. Definitivamente volveré una y otra vez.

Experiencia fantástica: A good museum and knowledgable staff on Clarington history. Didn't know that Clarington was world renown for award winning quality player pianos. The popularity of the radio ended their market.

Experiencia negativa: This museum has fallen into disrepair. The Library and Museum CEO & Executive Director clearly has no appreciation or respect for Clarington's rich heritage and history. This used to be such a huge part of the community until larger entities took it over and let it crumble and added in ramps that do not fit the building

Experiencia fantástica: Lovely play space for children! Very unique and welcoming. Worth the drive from elsewhere for fun and a change of scenery. Lovely outdoor space for picnics etc as well.

Experiencia negativa: I visited the museum with high hopes, but I was sorely disappointed. The exhibits were outdated and poorly maintained, and the staff seemed disinterested and unhelpful. The overall experience was underwhelming, and I wouldn't recommend this museum to anyone. It's a shame that such a potentially enriching place has fallen into such a state of neglect

Experiencia negativa: The fact that the town and the Board has abandoned their own publicly owned museum and its volunteers is disgraceful.Why does the library even control the museum? It's absurd.

Experiencia negativa: I brought my toddler to the ClaringTown exhibit. It was small and at capacity. We stayed maybe 20 minutes. The woman working at the centre was not overly friendly. The rest of the heritage museum was minimal.

Experiencia fantástica: This place is a gem. Great artifacts and historical notes on the history of our little town. Claringtown is a great new feature with really awesome activities for kids of all ages to learn about life here. Incredibly knowledgeable staff took the time to provide us with added information about some of the exhibits including Camp 30 and the Piano Factory. We went on a Spirit Walk and had a fantastic time learning about some of the darker history of Bowmanville. Cant wait to tell everyone else about this. Thank you Heather, Amy and Carly for your knowledge and for the whole experience.

Experiencia fantástica: Have you ever wandered off the 401 just past Oshawa? You should go North a little and discover Clarington, Bowmanville, Newcastle and of yes the Clarington Museum and Archive, specifically Waverly House. When you take the virtual tour and see the bathroom, but it doesn't quite click. Point your mouse through the door and then click. Voila inside the bathroom. This piece of early Canadian property is stunning, check out the photos and check out the outdoor shots I did. Now jump in the car and head out.

Experiencia fantástica: Love that the museum has hosted soper creek wildlife. Both my kids have gone on trips to experience this and they loved it. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming.

Experiencia fantástica: I started out volunteering here in high school and through it, I found a love for history and the museum industry. All the love to this museum. I wish for more people in Clarington and the surrounding area to take some time here to learn about their local history.
