Experiencia fantástica: Tienen artículos geniales. Personal amable. Un gran lugar secreto para visitar en Rotorua

Experiencia fantástica: What a find, the kids loved the interactive water pumps and the parents probably did to, absolute money for value in todays world …. $15 an adult (non local) / children free, we probably spent two hours here but could have been three if we didn’t need to travel home The volunteers that run and keep this museum going get another 5 stars Open Thursday and Sundays from 10am and every second Sunday is a live day, hopefully it’s a live day next time we are in town

Experiencia fantástica: Wow! I can't believe I worked just down the road from this heritage museum and never went to visit. The state of preservation and the amount of artifacts stored within the buildings of these grounds is amazing. There's a blacksmith station, logging and wood treatment building, steam engine shed, stables and farm equipment (milk/butter production) as well as living quarters, hat shop, general shop and even a goal!! My favorite section was definitely the Maori collection - it touches on the tragedy of the Tarewera eruption (which is curated at the Buried Village!) The entire museum is self-guided with an informative pamphlet. All the staff here are volunteers who are happy to give demonstrations and tell you about the place. Please note: museum is only open Thursday and Sunday from 10am-4pm.

Experiencia positiva: We arrived at this place and drove in through the gate; and this very nice man came out and said the Museum was closed. And then asked us how Ling we are staying here in Rotorua. We said we were going hone on Saturday. He then invited us to have a look around, but not before we started on a friendly conversation about everything. However Bruce said we could browse at our leisure, but I asked him if he would show us around. It was very interesting.looking at the old telephones we used to use in the '70s and before then. And the prices for food and things in £, shillings and pence. Other items I'd never seen before. What a treasure of things to behold. Thanks for your time Bruce.

Experiencia fantástica: I've added photos and written up already before. There is more to this museum than just railway engines and operating pumps of all sizes. There are many valuable collections of hats, food tins, clothes, toys from another era. It reminds me of the Museum of Childhood in London. Excellent!

Experiencia fantástica: Great place to visit with thr kids old and young. Alot of hands on exhibitions for all to play with and understand how old New Zealand was. PS they have an awesome taonga Māori gallery too.
