Experiencia fantástica: Fabulous Museum with so much to see and understand how the military found information and deployed that new knowledge to forces for over 200 years. Free entrance but needs booking ahead to register and pass through tough security arrangements. Not for the Museum necessarily but for all the intelligence services on campus. Go but take your time to look, read, ponder and question the staff so you really understand the subject. We were so well looked after and we send grateful thanks for all that.
Experiencia fantástica: Great tour. Well worth a visit
Experiencia fantástica: Great place for a visit, particularly if you're an ex-service geek! Need a good couple of hours to see it all!
Experiencia fantástica: This museum does what it says on the tin, and focuses on military intelligence. Starting from ancient times thru WW2, Northern Island, the falklands and right up to Iraq and Afghan conflicts. Aerial photography is a strong feature, and there is a lot of equipment displayed relating to this. It is on a military base so you’ll need to email them a few days before you want to visit and fill in a form, but that’s easy enough. There’s no cafe, gift shop, picnic area, playground of course.
Experiencia fantástica: An excellent museum full of fascinating exhibits. Our guide had many stories to tell about the exhibits and made the visit even more interesting. I'll visit again!
Experiencia fantástica: Interesting place
Experiencia positiva: very interesting and great tour guides who were retired former active duty members
Experiencia fantástica: Excellent little museum covering some fascinating topics. Inside a military base so not the easiest to visit.
Experiencia fantástica: We tried to visit, but this is no ordinary museum - it's inside a military base, and you will not get access unless you have arranged things by email at least three days beforehand.
Experiencia fantástica: I visited today and was shown around the whole Intelligence Museum, which is a TARDIS!! Major Bill Steadman, who showed me around all the exhibits was an absolute mine of information, and knew the back stories of every exhibit. The museum is looking for a new home, and can see why; every inch of wall space is covered with excellent interactive displays. This museum provides a wonderful visit for anyone interested in the intelligence world. I wouldn't have missed it for the world! Well done to all concerned!!
Experiencia fantástica: Loads of history, fantastic guides Recommended for coach visits aswell
Experiencia fantástica: A surprisingly extensive museum with some well thought out exhibitions on the various aspects of military intelligence in the context of various conflicts. There was a great set of children's activities and trails which went down well with our 5 and 7 year olds.
Experiencia fantástica: an excellent place to visit learn a lot about what the Military Intelligence actually does
Experiencia fantástica: Great place to visit if you get the chance
Experiencia positiva: Great place to visit if you get the chance
Experiencia fantástica: Really interesting museum with an excellent tour guide. Worth a visit!
Experiencia fantástica: Harriet was enthusiastically brilliant at explaining certain events in the Intelligence Corps history. The tour she gave took about 2 hours, as we were asking all sorts of questions and getting lots of information. Afterwards, we wandered around the museum on our own. We were there for another 3+ hours because there is just so much to take in [generally, most visitors stay for about 2 hours]. Didn’t realise that the RAF Medmenham Collection was there. A real bonus. They are trying to get funding for a building near Woburn so that they can be easily accessible, add much more and be interactive for children. The curator has many wonderful ideas for making it a funtastic whole day out for families and everyone. Any support would be very much appreciated. Thank you for the inspiring experience. We look forward to returning.
