Experiencia negativa: Booked a Fire Truck visit for a charity event . Understand they are a charity themselves . However no phone call to say they couldn't make it and had very upset and disapointed children that there was no fire truck coming . Luckly we had a bouncy castle to keep them entertained . Fair play if we received a call or email update but nothing . Poor effort from a charity ran fire sevice.

Experiencia fantástica: A gem of a fire museum. Free entry, a donation is great fully accepted. I found it fascinating and a wonderful place to take photographs. A very short walk from the cruise ship terminal. Took me about 5 minutes to walk once I was outside the terminal. The museum opens especially for cruise ships so check their website if you’re cruising in to Greenock. Recommended and thank you to all the volunteers, firefighters & their families over the years!

Lots of information available from a team of knowledgeable and passionate volunteers. Also providing fire safety advice we can all use today - Smoke detector 'Testing Tuesdays'

Experiencia fantástica: I loved everything about it. The exhibits were fantastic with lots of information, the film presentation was great and the service vehicles were beautifully restored. All the helpers were welcoming, friendly and happy to answer everyone's questions. It was a lovely experience and I'll definitely go again and recommend it to my family and friends.

Experiencia negativa: Drove to Greenock after checking opening times on the website...said open 12 - 4pm Mon to Fri. Got there and sign says open last Sunday of every month! Waste of time!!

Experiencia fantástica: Great place to visit run by ex firefighters so they know there stuff and the we museum is beautiful a lot of history in that building and loads of old equipment they used years ago well worth a visit the guys that work there are brilliant for there stories aswell most of them if not all of them have worked as firefighters

Vast array of fire fighting equipment, photos and records through the ages. Wallace the fire dog is a treat to see (story books about him). Highly recommend a visit. Free entry but donations can be given towards museum upkeep.

Experiencia fantástica: I am a bit biased since I volunteer here but it is a fantastic place to learn abit of Scottish Fire Service history, toilets onsite, parking/disabled spaces nearby and also local pubs and restaurants if you're parched or hungry

Just check out the times first however as it is run by volunteers and opens parallel to the many cruise ships that dock at Greenock. Once the new cruise terminal opens in Greenock it will be even closer and within walking distance of about 900 yards.

Experiencia fantástica: My 8 year old loved the old fire engines and trying on the breathing apparatus. The staff were really friendly and informative. Definitely worth a visit and I'm pretty sure we will be back!
