🗣️ German Inland Waterways Museum: Des avis
Expérience fantastique: It was a very instructive tour, we visited the museum with 7 seniors, 3 of them were in wheelchairs. Access is from the side with an elevator and our seniors loved this museum.
Expérience fantastique: Fine museum with nice exhibits. It's a bit out of time. Few but interesting exhibits, some of which may also be written. The most impressive exhibit is of course the ship in one of the two former swimming pools (yes, swimming pools)
Expérience fantastique: Today we were with our 7-year-old son in the CHILDREN'S TOUR followed by a shipbuilding workshop (Bodo, the boat builder, runs until July 17th, 2022). We are super excited! The guide made it super exciting and fun for the kids. Our son was there for 2 hours! Adults learned a lot too. It was a great experience. I wish every museum tour was this exciting and entertaining! There are also changing exhibitions and they are even free for school classes! Absolutely the insider tip that must not remain secret.
Expérience fantastique: We were very impressed by the old indoor pool, where the museum is now spread over several decks.
Expérience fantastique: Great museum if you want to learn about our inland shipping. There are many models to see that show how hard the industry has worked. I have been here with my 5 year old grandson. He says he had a lot of fun and learned a lot. The same applies to me (68 years old). In any case, when buying the entrance ticket, you should also buy a ticket for the nearby OSCAR HUBER. It's definitely worth it... All in all we had a few nice hours in which we learned a lot. PS we were there on a weekday and almost had the whole museum and the ship to ourselves.
Expérience fantastique: A big flatboat in the swimming pool? Is that possible? Yes, it is possible in this old indoor swimming pool that has been converted into a museum! Information from the beginning of the boat trip to today's seafaring is presented here in easily digestible portions with many exhibits and partly by trying it out yourself. Children can also get in the seafaring mood with a specially constructed children's ship. Special exhibitions complement the offer. Anyone who then looks at the museum ships has a great insight into shipping, technology and life and work on board. I was impressed.
Expérience fantastique: A great experience every Thursday pay waht you want great action from you
Expérience fantastique: It's great without a tour, but the employees who did the children's tours during our visit deserve a raise ;-) Very well done.
Expérience fantastique: A special museum, although there are actually a lot of museums, the building itself, a former swimming pool, is worth a visit. The exhibits are engaging and informative. It is also suitable for children, you can try some things. There is also a small playground in the courtyard. The museum ships are a great addon, but difficult to reach with prams or walking aids (long, ugly way if you can't use stairs). We take our kids to this museum at least annually and enjoy it every time. The special exhibitions are also recommended. Afterwards you can dine excellently in the adjacent Italian restaurant.
Expérience fantastique: Great museum for a small entrance fee in a converted location. The exhibits were built into the former indoor swimming pool in a wonderfully appropriate manner. We were pleasantly surprised. Incidentally, the guided tour for €1 p.p. is highly recommended. p extra Worth it.
Expérience fantastique: Varied exhibition, informative but not overloaded, presented in a modern and lively way - in the unique architecture of the beautiful building of the old indoor pool.
Expérience fantastique: It's amazing what you can do with an old indoor pool! Interesting for lovers of old technology, old crafts and everyone who is interested in shipping and everything around it. Great exhibits, pictures and films!
Expérience fantastique: Very cool museum. Built inside a huge ship
Expérience fantastique: What a wonderful museum! The history of the inland merchant navy and the German canals, from Roman times to the present day with the added bonus of the possibility of visiting two ship-museums (which I recommend). A must in Duisburg.
Expérience fantastique: The museum is definitely worth a visit. Very diverse exhibits, many very clear wooden models on the history of inland navigation and some ship models, some of which are originally built, explain very clearly the development of shipping on our rivers and in Europe. Located in the former indoor swimming pool in Duisburg-Ruhrort, the museum is surprisingly spacious and expansive. Many exhibits on several floors lead the visitor from the beginnings of shipping in the Bronze Age to the decline of inland shipping in our time. The visitor should not miss to pay a visit to the two historic ships in the Vincke Canal. They really round off a visit to the museum.
Expérience fantastique: Nice museum about German inland navigation. Everything explained in a nice tour and it's not too much and not too little, in the former indoor pool - and a great museum restaurant.
Expérience fantastique: A particularly good themed museum to see. Best as part of a guided tour. .
Expérience fantastique: Very interesting. Cool location for the museum
Expérience fantastique: I was blown away by how vividly history is shown here. A museum to marvel at and touch. Anyone who feels at home in the Rhine-Ruhr area should have visited it. I'll be back.
Expérience fantastique: A wonderful very large museum with interesting exhibits that add real value. The building alone is worth a visit. The exhibition has been set up with a lot of effort and very well thought out. I'm always amazed at how great the museums in Duisburg are.
Expérience fantastique: Excellent museum of river navigation! Very friendly staff! Everything was explained, told, directed where to go and what to see. We left the very best impressions about the staff. The museum itself is very chic. same style! I recommend everyone to visit this place.
Expérience fantastique: Highly interesting for everyone who is interested in shipping and shipbuilding.
Expérience fantastique: We were here for the Bodo der Schiffsbauer campaign. Great tour for the kids and we adults had a lot of fun too. Highly recommended and thank you.
Expérience fantastique: Very vivid and instructive - both in the stationary area and on the museum ships (which you should definitely visit as well - there is only about 800 meters on foot between them)
Expérience fantastique: Really exciting
Expérience fantastique: Especially worthwhile and lovable in the extra shift!
Expérience fantastique: Super
Expérience fantastique: Great museum, we have spent two hours with kids there!
Expérience fantastique: Very interesting exhibition, great models and showpieces... Great how the story was integrated into the bathing establishment... special thanks to the nice lady for the very clear explanations...
Expérience fantastique: Great museum, we have spent two hours with kids there!
Expérience fantastique: ... how nice that such an old and historic building is still in use... an old swimming pool. Old tiles are a reminder of this... now filled to the brim with memories from the times of shipping. From the beginning to today.. vivid with many exhibits... suitable for young and old. Recommended!!! Until the beginning of August 21 incl. Playmobil exhibition.
Expérience fantastique: Today we visited the children's festival in the museum with our daughters for the first time. It was really great! there was handicrafts , dancing and delicious food . Thank you for the nice day, we will definitely be back
Expérience fantastique: A beautifully situated museum on the outskirts of Ruhrort/ border Laar in the former Ruhrort swimming pool. Here you can find out in a very informative way how inland shipping in Duisburg not only shaped the picturesque district of Ruhrort. You get an idea of the harsh conditions under which the "work" was just as hard, both on the ships and in the harbors around. And all this in this absolutely fitting location of the former Ruhrort swimming pool with its romantic/industrial architecture. Many exhibits, vivid showcases and many hands-on offers are equally interesting for young and old. What made our visit so particularly attractive today was the Playmobil exhibition, which tells the history of Ruhrort from the Stone Age to the 20th century using detailed and lovingly designed miniature worlds. If you still want to see this exhibition, you have to hurry, because it ends on October 3rd, 2021
Expérience fantastique: Very nice museum. Anyone with a tad interested in shipping should check this out. Admission is very cheap and there are plenty of free parking spaces in the area. I especially liked that the information boards show just the right amount of text. There is always enough information, but never so much that you don't want to read it anymore. After a short walk to the port of Ruhrort, you can still see the museum ships nearby. Definitely a recommendation.
Expérience fantastique: A very interesting museum with a lot of modern content. I can only recommend.
Expérience fantastique: Beautiful museum. Very interesting and educational. They have many displays with English description.
Expérience fantastique: A great museum. Highly recommended.
Expérience fantastique: A great museum within historic walls! Also ideal for children! There is a lot to see and children receive a diploma if they pass the exam.
Expérience fantastique: Must visit for everyone interested in engineering
Expérience fantastique: Amazing museum!!! There is plenty of interesting information and exposition for elder and youngsters as well. 5 .
Expérience fantastique: Extensive exhibition in historic building. Worth seeing prepared exhibition objects on 3 levels in a 110-year-old former indoor swimming pool in classicistic design.
Expérience fantastique: Old swimming pool rededicated to a museum. Great detailed models that you should take your time to look at.
Expérience fantastique: Cool
Expérience fantastique: Nice museum. We received a friendly welcome. In an interesting building. My 9 year old daughter had a lot of fun getting her diploma. A nice afternoon for about 2 hours. The subsequent walk along the Rhine is right outside the door.
Expérience fantastique: An old public bath house transformed into a museum about Rhine shipping in particular. Also owns a collection of museum ships, which are based both at the museum itself and at the Henrichenburg boat lift.
Expérience fantastique: A nice museum with which you can easily fill half a Sunday. The idea of converting an old swimming pool is fantastic. Was also implemented well! In short about: Lots of details, well done! We will definitely come back to the museum
Expérience fantastique: Great museum showing the history of inland shipping. It is also interesting that the museum is located in an old indoor pool that has been really well integrated. This includes visiting the OSCAR HUBER in the port. An old steamship. Worth seeing
Expérience fantastique: The building in which the museum is located is already worth a visit. It is an old swimming pool with a great history!
Expérience fantastique: A great museum about shipping. Good to know: there is a public tour at 3:00 p.m. for a sporadic euro. But otherwise a round trip is signposted, which is also great to go through alone.
