Expérience fantastique: PAZO QUIÑONES DE LEÓN An ideal place to enjoy your free time, to relax and admire the architecture of the pazo and the beauty of its gardens. A natural space where it is possible to spend a quiet afternoon, unhurried, escape and isolate yourself from the stress and noise of a big city. The visitor blends in with the environment, a setting from tales of yesteryear...

Expérience fantastique: A very charming place, very well preserved, very beautiful, full of magic and positive energy. Although we couldn't enter the museum because it was closed, you love its surroundings. All green and colorful at the same time. There were few people. It is lucky to spend the afternoon there because it is super relaxing. I highly recommend it!

Expérience fantastique: The Pazo de Quiñones de León is a unique and unforgettable experience that combines history, culture and nature in one place. It is a great luck that Vigo has a publicly owned pazo with free admission. The building is impressive, with a large number of architectural and decorative details that transport you to another era. The museum spaces are very interesting, with artistic collections and furniture of great historical and cultural value. In addition, the park has an extensive territory that is perfectly cared for and full of different botanical species, such as ponds, natural fountains, and a wide variety of plants and trees. It is a perfect place to disconnect from the noise of the city and enjoy nature. In addition, the pazo has a magical fountain with a lion's head

Expérience fantastique: Beautiful and spectacular...

Expérience fantastique: It is very well preserved and inside you can see a museum dedicated to different types of items that were used in the past (manual corn mills, sundials, mámoas, etc.) They also preserve the rooms of the pazo with their works of art and ceramics. originals. A review of the history of the charming place. The gardens are beautiful as is the hedge maze. They are still one of the most beautiful stopping areas in the city.

Expérience fantastique: It looks like a movie, it is very well preserved both inside and out, I loved the collection of oil paintings, you have the archeology part that I find very interesting, and then I really liked the rest. I recommend it, it's worth it and it's free

Expérience fantastique: A great luck that Vigo has a pazo of public ownership. Many of the pazos in Galicia are privately owned and the entrance is usually elevated. In this case, admission is free. It has an Archeology space, artistic collections, furniture and very interesting Decorative Arts.

Expérience fantastique: Lots of antique furniture that you can actually touch.

Expérience fantastique: The only place in the city with an exclusive path for people that gives us several gardens where ducks, sparrows, robins, chickadees, magpies, blackbirds and wrens coexist in freedom...among others...and also hundred-year-old trees and exotic plants brought by the marquis from distant places and we must keep it in perfect condition for future generations!

Carles Vilaplana (Carles Oxyso) 1 year ago

Expérience fantastique: A nice country house, well preserved with a small archeology exhibition and a good art gallery. The visitable areas are only a small part of the pazo. No access to rooms or other rooms. It is worth visiting, it is free, taking advantage of the visit to the gardens.

Expérience fantastique: Beautifully restored Manor House with a lot of history and a magnificent art collection.. There is a Vermeer and a Goya! It is very well kept with an historical display of hand tools, some pottery and glass ware and grave stones. Well worth a visit!

Expérience fantastique: Great museum with lots or historic paintings. Could do with some more English translations. Can't complain given free entry. Well worth a visit. Lovely gardens as well with walks around.

Expérience fantastique: The museum is quite small, but it is free and the interior of the old mansion is beautiful. There is one Goya painting in their collection, although it is very small. The park that surrounds museum is very pretty, it has a simple labyrinth and a couple of ponds and gazebos.

Expérience fantastique: Recommended visit of the interior and gardens. It also houses a part that functions as an Archaeological Museum. I liked seeing it after the Liste museum since it connects. Also with family.

Expérience fantastique: Good place to relax in nature and see the history of Vigo and the pazo and its gardens

Expérience fantastique: The Pazo de Quiñones de Leon is an authentic cultural and visual enjoyment that clouds the senses. Despite the amount of park that was ceded for the enjoyment of the public today called Castrelos Park, the country house has an extensive territory perfectly cared for and full of different botanical species. Ponds, natural springs, the immense building of the manor transport you to another era and you forget that you are in the middle of the city of Vigo. It is recommended for those who want to enjoy nature and disconnect from the noise of the city

Expérience fantastique: Although far from the center, it is worth visiting. It has a very interesting museum of archeology and a collection of European painting. In its gardens there are three varieties, the English style, the French style and a rose garden. It is also very well signposted for blind people. There are bus lines that go there from the center. Recommendable.

Expérience fantastique: Emblematic point of the Olívica city. Both the pazo and the gardens are very well cared for and preserved. Inside the museum we find a historical tour that covers from the first settlements to the 20th century, discovering relevant characters and events in the long and unknown history of Vigo. The gardens contain different spaces, with different atmospheres that the visitor discovers on his way. As negative points I would like to say that there is not a single sign in English, many paintings only have a label with the name of the character (a little context would help to enjoy the experience more), access for people with reduced mobility is not the best better, and without a doubt the gardens can be improved. Fact of fewer seasonal routes to see the outstanding plant species depending on the time of year and the lack of public spaces such as tables, rest places, etc. It should be a botanical garden of reference for the city and unfortunately it is not.

Expérience fantastique: It is located in Vigo, specifically near the Parque de Castrelos. In the same Vigo-Pontevedra. It is a very Precious and nice Museum to Visit. It is a Pazo with a lot of history, you can visit all the instances, each room has its charm and wonder. You can see pictures and paintings of the time in each room and furnished and highly decorated rooms, it is nice to visit. I recommend it to you, you will feel like the great lords of a Gran Pazo in the history of Galicia.

Expérience fantastique: A country house preserved thanks to being a museum. A good tour of the gardens accompany such wonder.

Expérience fantastique: On the bridge of November 2019 we made a route through Galicia, we visited the Quiñones de León Museum (Pazo de Castrelos). I have read a comment, which should qualify his writing, because he is not well informed of what is inside. There is a lot of information, everything is very well detailed, a very important millennial culture, providing a lot of cultural interest about history, especially the prehistoric area. There are very interesting stone engravings, the readings are perfect, and the times in which they were made, numerous showcases with a lot of detailed information. The Manor and Its exterior is beautiful with its façade surrounded by ivy, and behind with its beautiful gardens, both the paintings and their entire environment are worth visiting, it is even a good option if it is raining.

Expérience fantastique: The Pazo has its origin in a Defensive Tower Called da Zapateira, the pazo began to be built in the 17th century, and after passing through the same family, the last Marquis donated it to the city of Vigo in 1924. The house has many transformations and it corresponds to the last one made, by the Marchioness of English origin, and gives it that British air that part of the gardens also have. In it is currently the Museum of the city with an important collection of painting and archaeology. You have to be careful with the schedules since the Pazo is rented for private events. The gardens are impressive, some French style in front of and behind the Pazo itself, and more secluded, what in their day were orchards, the English gardens more free of space and without so much symmetry. The whole complex is worth a visit as it is located in one of the best Pazos in Galicia.

Expérience fantastique: Beautiful Pazo in which the great economic level of the owners is seen. How they sought a certain privacy within the division of their properties. How they valued the possession of new botanical species, a sign of prestige, and the two types of landscaping typical of the time, French with the perfect figures and geometries and English, a "disorderly" arrangement seeking a certain free nature in its planning.

Expérience fantastique: I'll be back, I liked it a lot even though it's not very big. It has an archaeological room that I have loved with outstanding pieces such as the altars of the Castro de Donón and the Punic betilos found in the Castro da illa de Toralla, it is also very well explained. As for the rest, the palace preserves the furniture of yesteryear, very stately and luxurious. Highly recommended.

Expérience fantastique: Well worth the visit. The palace, the archaeological remains and also the gardens are very interesting. Worth the visit to a Galician 'palace' (pazo). Interesting displays of china from Sargadelos, beautiful rooms with local wood work, and really nice gardens.

Expérience fantastique: Best antique museum in the city. Marvelous French gardens and pure Galician heritage. Don't miss the chance and visit it if you stop by nearby.
