Hi Sage! Thank you so much for visiting us - we're glad you enjoyed your experience! We hope to see you again next semester.
Expérience positive: Good, but limited art.
Hi David, thank you for visiting UAMA! We do have limited gallery space, so we are limited in how much of our growing collection we can exhibit. Our permanent galleries highlight our collection with art that spans over eight centuries. We also have a small but mighty staff and are limited in how many times we rotate exhibitions or refresh our permanent galleries. The galleries on our main level rotate every six months, so I hope that you will visit again to see our new exhibitions! You can find more information on current and upcoming exhibitions on our website: https://artmuseum.arizona.edu/see-do/exhibitions
Expérience fantastique: I love the University of Arizona --- every aspect of it! Great "kids" (aka students), sports & athletes, faculty & staff, campus...AND their great museums. It was a fantastic visit the the UofA Art Museum on museum day. They have wonderful art to enjoy and attentive, knowledgeable staff.
Hi Steve, so glad you were able to stop by for a visit on UArizona Museum Day and glad to hear you enjoy the campus and UAMA! We hope to see you again soon for our new exhibitions!
Expérience fantastique: Wonderful experience and really utilized the best space within a small museum. Hidden gem
Thank you for visiting UAMA, Maria! We hope that you visit again. :)
Expérience fantastique: While in Tucson, stayed walking distance to the University of Arizona. Checked out this museum which was nice.
Hi Sonya, thank you so much for visiting us during your stay in Tucson! We hope to see you again the next time you're in town :)
Expérience fantastique: No parking nearby. Find a garage and walk over as there is not signage you can see from the street
Hi Tame, thank you for visiting UAMA! We always encourage first time visitors to visit our website for the best information regarding parking and directions. We're glad you were able to find your way to us!
Expérience positive: Permanent collection is awesome for such a small museum. The special exhibit was phenomenal.

Expérience fantastique: Great air conditioning
Hi Sam- thank you for the five-star review! Our museum truly is a great place to cool off in the desert heat. Feel free to visit us the next time you need to cool off and want to see amazing art!
Expérience positive: I am not from Tucson, so I have no idea where things are. The lovely, sweet and intelligent girl of my dreams went to U of A and has lived here for several years. We both know how to use Google maps and other apps. We are also competent people. So, the ordeal we went through to find the UAMA and to park was baffling. Google got us close, but we had to drive around to find a parking space. When we did, we had to download an app to pay. The app did not work. It seemed malevolent in its refusal to take money from any of several sources. We gave up street parking and found a garage. The GOMD remembered to note the spot we were parked in. That task would have been a lot easier if there were some markings that were more specific than, “Level 1”. Once parked, we let Google guide our steps to the Museum. The walk mode on Google is not great and there was construction going on that made things difficult. We were right on top of the place when we finally found a sign that told us where to go. The museum itself is very nice. The woman at the front was very knowledgeable and helpful. We were warned to not touch anything and the GOMD was instructed to put her water bottle and purse in a locker before we were let loose to look at the art. We started on the second floor where the bathrooms are. The first thing you see is an interactive station where people can draw and get information about the exhibits. We are more art watchers than art makers, so we skipped that part and went into the pictures. The collection has a wide variety of styles, subjects and media. We saw modern art, medieval religious paintings, a few sculptures and indigenous art from several cultures. One of the paintings is a De Kooning that was stolen and lost for 32 years before being returned. The woman at the front desk can tell you the whole story. It’s fun to have a bit of drama in your museum. The whole experience took an hour and a half and was well worth the $8 price of admission (Free for U of A students, but not alumni like the GOMD). We were hungry after and stumbled on many options for lunch once we found our way out of the block containing the museum. Finding the parking garage was also an adventure.
Hi Gary- thank you so much for your review! I am sorry to hear that finding our museum was such a hassle for you and the girl of your dreams. Google Maps and Google in general can be quite unreliable, so we always suggest visiting our website under our Visit tab for information on parking and directions. Now that you know your way, we hope to see you both at the museum again!
Expérience fantastique: Intimate museum; great art

Hi Julie, thank you for your review! We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your visit to the UAMA. Although we are a small museum, we aim to provide a wide array of art genres and exhibitions for all to enjoy. We hope to see you at the UAMA again!
Expérience positive: A perfectly acceptable academic art museum. I was slightly underwhelmed in the 45 minutes it took to view the art being exhibited.
Hi there, thank you so much for your review! Our mission at UAMA is to advance the academic and research mission of the University, but also enrich the visual arts culture of Tucson for the community to enjoy. Our collection spans eight centuries and across the world, which makes it a great resource for research and education material, but also a great source of entertainment for art lovers everywhere! I am sorry to hear you were underwhelmed with the current exhibitions, and despite your first impression, we hope that you visit us again in the future!
Expérience fantastique: Had a hard time finding it but once I did it was worth it. Beautiful art collection, contemporary, modern and traditional.
Hi Mary, thank you so much for your review! We are sorry to hear that you had trouble finding us, but are thrilled that you did! Our website offers excellent directions and parking information under our Visit Tab that we recommend folks check out as opposed to using Apple/Google maps. Now that you know where we are, we hope to see you again!
Expérience fantastique: Friendly staff, well lit exhibition rooms, handicapped access and clean restrooms. Fantastic artwork on display from local artists and world renown !!

Expérience fantastique: Great permanent collection; plus really good and topical seasonal exhibits. Accessible with numerous parking options in the area.
Hi Robert, thank you for your five-star review! We currently have several construction projects underway in the Arts Oasis, so we hope folks don't shy away from visiting! We prioritize accessibility to ensure folks have access to our museum at all times and we are glad to hear you had a positive experience with parking! We aim to rotate our seasonal exhibitions every 4-6 months and refresh our permanent galleries as needed so that there is new art on view. Please visit us again soon!
Expérience fantastique: Impressed by the collection. Loved that they let staff pick pieces. Would have liked more of a variety of historical styles.
Hi Marc, thank you for your review! We are glad to hear that you enjoyed our "Vault Show" exhibition this year. We are a small museum with limited exhibition space, and a collection comprised of approximately 7,000 objects spanning eight centuries. We always aim to refresh our galleries as we are able to so that we can showcase more of the collection. Please visit us again to see new artworks!
Expérience fantastique: I personally liked it a lot. They have an eclectic collection of art. Feedback for management: I would recommend the museum to put a story plaquevfor all of its painting rather than only a few.
Hi Joseph, thank you so much for your review! We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the collection. :)And thank you for your feedback! There is much research that is done for each artwork that we have on display that we share with the public in the form of didactics, and sometimes there is limited information for certain artworks. We will continue these efforts to ensure our visitors have context of each work they see when they visit. We hope that you visit us again soon!
Expérience fantastique: What an amazing experience! I work for Sandruby Community programs/Handmaker. Our clients were treated with respect and dignity! We support elderly and clients with cognitive disabilities. All of our clients enjoyed the visit and said they felt alive seeing all of the art and colors!
Hi Bacon, thank you for your amazing review! We absolutely loved having the folks from the SandRuby Community visit us yesterday and we are happy to hear you enjoyed your visit. We hope to see you all again!
Expérience positive: Very nice staff. I was only there for a few minutes for a school assignment. I would like to go back when I had more time. It was free as I was a student. Parking was horrible and it took us 10 minutes to find the place, even after asking two grounds keepers for directions.
Hi Mike, thank you for your review. We are glad that you enjoyed your time at the UAMA! Yes, we are always free to students of ALL schools! We are sorry to hear you had trouble finding us. It seems that we, unfortunately, are a hidden secret of the UA campus. Just know our front desk staff is always happy to help folks navigate to the museum, just give us a call! Our website is always a great resource for information on parking and directions as well (Under the Visit Tab> Directions & Parking). We are glad you know where we are now, so you can visit us again in the future!
Expérience positive: If you like abstract impressionist, or 14th century religious art, this is your pace. Most interesting to me was the painting and story behind the stolen Willem de Kooning "Woman-Ochre", recovered from the bedroom of an estate sale in Silver City. Wild!
Hi Andy, thank you for your review! We do currently have an exhibition celebrating Abstract Expressionism in honor of the recovery of the artwork by Willem de Kooning, "Woman-Ochre" which was stolen from UAMA in 1985. I am glad to hear you enjoyed our "Restored" exhibition! We also have our American Art gallery with works produced by American artists between the World Wars, a Contemporary Art Gallery, Modern Art Gallery, and our community gallery which is currently hosting High School artists from across Pima County in Arizona! Our downstairs galleries rotate every few months, so we hope that you visit us again to see what's to come :)
Expérience fantastique: Loved the art pieces and the staff was friendly. The environment of the galleries was very laid back on the day I went, and the prices were super reasonable! The abstract art was very cool.
Hi Carissa, thank you for the five-star review! We would love to hear more about what you enjoyed during your visit :)
Expérience positive: Small collection with some real gems and an exhibit on the stolen Woman in Ochre
Hi Paul, thank you for your review and for visiting the UAMA! Please visit us again soon :)
Expérience fantastique: Spent an hour enjoying the 2 floors of works. Great modern pieces and some special exhibits in addition to the old Europe stuff. $8 for visitors and free to students with ID. Worth a visit for sure and the A C felt great on an over 100 degree day!
Hi! Thank you so much for your review :) We are thrilled to hear you enjoyed your experience at the UAMA and we hope to see you again!
Expérience positive: It's a little pricier than CCP (which is free), but UAMA offers high quality exhibitions of the permanent collections and visiting work. The exhibitions are well curated. Typically, if only part of the exhibition spaces are open, they will cut off a little from the entrance, fee, too. There is a lovely courtyard in front of the museum, and plenty of outdoor pieces to enjoy for free.
Hi Sam, thank you so much for your time and review. We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your visit to the UAMA and that you were able to enjoy our new courtyard space! Our regular admission rates are $8 for general adults, $6 for seniors 65+ or groups of 10+, and Free to all students from any school, UArizona Faculty and Staff, UAMA Members, active military personnel, folks with SNAP cards and Tribal IDs, and anyone under the age of 18. All admission sales directly support the museum in its exhibition, unique programming, and much more.Send us an email and we can set you up with some guest passes for your next visit since you visited us during a transitionary period in between exhibitions. :)
Expérience fantastique: My family and I love art! We have the annual membership to this museum. The University of Arizona Art Museum is amazing and has a variety of different type of art in display. It is Two stories and has beautiful and historical art too! Some are hundreds of years old. There's some war like art, Jesus art, High School and just abstract and much more! If you're in Tucson, make the trip! If you appreciate art, you will not be disappointed.
Hello Ms. Land, thank you for your wonderful review and for your continued support of the UAMA! We look forward to seeing you again soon :)
Expérience fantastique: I spent an enjoyable couple hours taking in the excellent collection at the museum. Highlights for me were works by Georgia OKeefe, Jackson Pollock, Karel Appel, Lee Krasner, Horace Vernet, and the list goes on.
Hi Mark, thank you so much for your review! Glad you were able to stop on by and enjoy the exhibitions and artists on display. We enjoyed having you! We hope you visit us again soon :)

Expérience fantastique: Just beautiful!
Hi Olusola, thank you so much for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your visit at UAMA!
Expérience positive: The University of Arizona Museum of Art was a great exhibit, but half the museum was closed because they are preparing a new exhibit opening up next week (October 8, 2022). The part we saw was impressive. Most of the pieces once belonged to private collectors. It was amazing! I suggest going on the weekend because thr parking garages are free. While looking for parking, I called the museum phone number twice, but no one picked up.
Hi Yvonne, thank you for your review! I am sorry you visited while our two main floor galleries were closed as we prepare for our exhibition openings on October 8, 2022. We are glad to hear that despite not being able to visit all of our galleries, you still enjoyed your visit to the UAMA! We would also like to apologize for not answering your call. We highly encourage guests to visit our website for all information regarding admissions, parking, directions, exhibition information and events at www.artmuseum.arizona.comWe look forward to your future visit!

Expérience fantastique: Had not been before and it was lovely. So many wonderful paintings and other art My favorite was the exhibit showing art submitted by Tucson high school art students. Expérience fantastique: I love this museum! Fantastic world class art right here in lil' old Tucson! Jaw dropping exhibits! Do go!
Hi Sonia, thank you so much for your kind words. We are so thrilled to hear that you've had a great experience at the UAMA! Our curators work hard to plan and present these exhibitions and we are happy to hear that you've enjoyed them. We hope to see you again soon!
Expérience fantastique: I just spent the day here and...wow. There is so much to see that I will absolutely need to go back. I spent my time going through the Kress collection, but there were several other galleries that I made a dash through at the end of my time that looked equally amazing. The collections cover a lot of ground, so there's something here that should interest just about anyone. The staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. They clearly love being around the art and sharing what they know! I spent a little over six hours on site and they gave me lots of space to explore on my own but were available when I had questions. They even provided me with a little stool so I could sit in front of a piece of artwork if there wasn't a seat nearby. Certainly take some time to view the greatest hits they have, like "The Countess von Schonfeld with Her Daughter", the Altarpiece from Ciudad Rodrigo, and the "Portrait of the Marchesa Cunegonda Misciatelli." Each of these was worth making the trip all on its own, but there are so many cool other items. I really enjoyed "The Madonna and Chile with Angels", the "Tabernacle with Scenes from the Life of Christ" (this one is a little small, so look specifically for it), and "The Sacrifice of Iphigenia." Plan to spend some time here looking over everything. Not only will I be recommending this museum to everyone I talk to, I'll be going back. I make a trip to Tucson every year and this is now on my list of annual pilgrimage destinations.
Thank you so much for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your visit at UAMA! We look forward to your future visits!
Expérience fantastique: We stumbled into this after leaving the Center for Creative Photography heading to our car in the nearby parking lot. The free student admission appealed to us and we loved the Food exhibit. The "permanent" pieces were also significant. While we rushed through, we were able to "see everything" in about 30 minutes.
Hi Greg! Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your visit at the UAMA!
Expérience fantastique: Lovely little museum with some crazy old pieces. Like 1400s. Free for students too!
Hi Erika, thank you for your review. We are so glad you enjoyed your visit at UAMA!
Expérience fantastique: This is a fantastic store for back issues and lots of great toys!
Expérience fantastique: Really interesting exhibit. I really enjoyed the kress collection.
Hi Carlton, thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your visit to UAMA! The Kress Collection is always on display, and we hope to see you again soon!
Expérience fantastique: You can hear yourself think. It’s 2 floors and usually not very busy. It’s in between small and big, so a good space. Their collection is pretty decent, and the staff is nice and a bit younger than at the downtown art museum. Also if you’re a student it’s free whether Pima or the u of a.
Hello Hecho, thank you for your review. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your visit at the UAMA! We hope to see you at the museum again in the future!
Expérience positive: La

Expérience positive: Limited collections but worth the visit.
Hello Kathy, thank you for your review. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your visit to the UAMA! Our collection does hold roughly 7,000 pieces and we are still growing it to this day! We hope that you visit the UAMA again in the future to see new pieces in the galleries.
Expérience négative: Extremely loud and disruptive environment today. More akin to a locker room than a university art museum.
Hi Scott, thank you for your review. We are so sorry to hear your visit was unpleasant. Our museum tends to be quiet on most days, but we are an educational institute that encourages discussions within the galleries regarding the exhibitions, as well as welcoming tours. We hope that you will visit again!
Expérience positive: The art is amazing. It changes frequently so every visit you get to see and experience new art. They also have a special gallery for student art work which is amazing because you can see artwork created by young minds. It's one of my favorite places to go. It's very peaceful. The UofA museum of art also has very reasonable prices for admission.
Hello Ariana, thank you so much for your review. We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed your visit at the UAMA! We hope to see you at the museum again in the future!
Expérience fantastique: Wonderful artwork and a very gracious and knowledgeable director.
Expérience fantastique: I am moved by the student art exhibit. This is a wonderful place to get inspiration.
Expérience fantastique: For university art gallery I was very impressed.
Expérience fantastique: Cool place..thank you for recognizing Veterans. It sends a positive signal to the public. Museum had some very interesting displays. The photograph exhibit of Burhan Dogancay was spectacular. Umar Rashid's collection was amazing...
Expérience fantastique: Many schools across the nation have worked museums. But this one sizable group it takes up 2 stories. Has a lot of great pieces.
Hello Bobby, thank you for your review. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your experience at the UAMA! Although we are a small museum, we have great pride in the significant collection we have been growing for all to enjoy. We hope that you visit the UAMA again!
Expérience fantastique: Great hidden gem of a museum in Tucson. This is a University Museum so it has different types of exhibitions than traditional museums, including MFA shows and student guest curators, but that allows it to have many unique perspectives represented. The museum itself has an excellent collection for their size.
Expérience fantastique: A nice repose to admire and reflect.
Expérience fantastique: I enjoyed the eclectic nature of the collection. It's not a huge museum: but for the amount of square footage, you get to see quite an array of artists and styles. Exhibit themes were quite well thought out. Some medieval, some Renaissance, some modern. And quite a resource for students of art, with topics on restoration, technique, and art history.
Expérience fantastique: Good show, very crowded
Hello Arvid, thank you for your review. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your visit to the UAMA! Depending on the day and time of year, the museum can definitely get busy! The summer season tends to be more quiet as the UA has its summer break and campus is not as active. We hope that you visit us again soon!
Expérience fantastique: A gem tucked away in the University of Arizona's beautiful campus.
Hello Paul, thank you for your review. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your experience to the UAMA! We are a bit of a hidden gem on campus, but we do offer directions on our website to make navigating to the museum easier for visitors. Our visitor services team is always happy to help guide visitors via phone as well! We hope that you visit the UAMA and the university campus again in the future.
Expérience fantastique: This is so FUN And gorgeous. Plenty to keep you busy but not so large you are overwhelmed. They have a Renoir, O'Keeffe, and a Pollock as part of the permanent collection and its just amazingly curated. only 8 dollars!!!!!
Expérience fantastique: Very nice museum with different exhibits for everyone's taste. From modern art to Renaissance, it is a great place for any art lover. Students enter for free and tickets are of reasonable price. Great museum
Hello Victoria, thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your experience at the UAMA! Our growing collection has artwork spanning eight centuries from around the world, with a wide array of exhibits that caters to all art enthusiasts. We hope to see you again!
Expérience fantastique: Wonderful museum with a good balance of traditional, modern, contemporary and up and coming art. Fantastic community and educational programming as well. Check it out!
Expérience fantastique: Gorgeous location. They have some really amazing art on display. It isn't a huge museum, but it does take a good hour or two at a slow pace. If you really want to sit and soak in some of the art, you can spend several hours, if not multiple visits. Ideal spot for students needing anything art related for class.
Expérience fantastique: I was impressed. I can be quite annoyed at times, with a million questions. But a woman named Phoenix was so patient with my relentless inquiries on the subject matter and made my experience so much more enriched. She made me laugh, which can be a hard thing to do. Five stars for the event, five for her, and five for the organizers who know how to staff the best of the best
Expérience fantastique: This Museum displays a broad variety of work from different historic periods, including contemporary. What is so special is by contrasting differing styles of work, they have created the perfect learning setting. A unique, temporary exhibit is photographs of stars whose time it took for the stars light to become visible is the age of the paired painting. Relationships and explanations are what this museum is about - perfect for learners of all ages, and small enough to inspire and not overwhelm.
Expérience positive: This is a small but interesting museum that is hard to find but well worth the search. Parking on the street is not easy but the parking garage is close by to the entire arts center. The temporary exhibit is of paintings from a chapel and is worth the visit. There is a small exhibit of modern art and some staff and student art.
Hello Jim, thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your visit to the UAMA! We know our museum is a bit of a hidden gem on campus. We offer directions on our website that guide guests from the Park Avenue Garage, where we recommend guests to park, to the museum entrance. Our staff is always happy to help navigate visitors as well via phone! We hope to see you at the UAMA again in the future!

Expérience positive: Unusual themes.
Expérience positive: Nice museum for a university. Good access.
Expérience négative: A lot of space was empty. Appeared to be under construction. I guess the Currator is doing everything but their job.
Expérience négative: Poor communication. Pollock and O'Keefe taken off view, but they fail to inform you before you purchase admission.
Expérience positive: Nice little museum with rotating exhibits snd a nice collection of modern art. Free for veterans #veterandiscounts #tusconmuseum
Expérience positive: It has some really cool Renaissance art, but a good portion of the museum was dedicated to a local artist that seemed a little out of place. Overall worth going to if you want to kill some time

Expérience fantastique: I went with my boyfriend on a weekend we had free. This was an amazing time and absolutely worth the admission price of 8 bucks. We spent two hours staring at everything. The Highschool art exhibit they had up, was pretty impressive. Those kids are so imaginitive!
