Esperienza fantastica: If you are looking for a museum that walks you through the critical hours during the Normandy Landing (more specifically Utah Beach), this is the place. The suggested duration of visit is 1h30, but we spent well over 3 hours. Furthermore, the exhibition showing "then and now pictures" was a very interesting addition to the visit. Loved the museum, thank you very much!

Esperienza fantastica: Everyone should know the history of D-Day and why the world exists the way it does today because of this event.

Esperienza fantastica: The museum is architecturally sympathetic to it's surroundings encompassing a recently discovered (1990's) Axis mortar trench. The organisation is clearly curated by passionate historians with a large selection of artifacts and imagery relating to operation Overlord. I found the experience very informative and deeply moving.

Esperienza fantastica: So surreal to see the actual uniforms, weapons and machinery. It is one thing to read about it, it is another to see it in person.

History brought back to 2023 ...I have never experienced anything like this before, if you where outside or inside it is breathtaking, I can't even start to imagine how hard the landing was , My Wife was in tears in the Cinema... The fear that these soldiers must have had ....Hope history doesn't repeat itself.... Let's hope and pray nothing like this ever happens again ...I wish everyone a nice day out with the family...I definitely recommend a visit here .

Esperienza fantastica: An educational and totally interesting experience. Lots of recovered genuine WW2 items to look at including tanks, planes and weapons. Well worth a visit.

Esperienza fantastica: Appears to be a very thorough and interesting museum. The exhibits are well displayed in both French and English. There are also a lot of videos along the tour. We enjoyed this museum very much and highly recommend it.

Esperienza fantastica: We decided to visit Utah beach for a majority of the time since it looks more like it did back on D-day whereas Omaha beach is a little more developed. We visited the Utah Beach Landing Museum to get a better sense of the history and walked out on the beach. I expected a heavier feeling while visiting or standing on the beach—still heavy but not to the degree I had anticipated, maybe because Utah beach was surprisingly successful—but I felt more of that nervous anticipation while watching the short movie. It’s just a crazy and horrifying thought to think of being in that position waiting to jump out of the Higgins boat to start storming the embattlements.

Esperienza fantastica: We came here as a guided tour, and how it was explained to us is that amongst all of the D Day landings museums in Normandy, The Utah Beach Landing Museum was one of the best and most personal of museums in the area. This is 100% true after experiencing it for ourselves. The museum is very tasteful and well maintained, not to mention that the museum itself is a former German bunker which is a cool touch. Our personal favorite piece is the prayer book that saved a soldier's life (see pictures). Allow at least 2 hours here to appreciate it, then soak up the sights and history of the actual Utah beach right behind the museum. They also sell little souvenir bottles for about 5 euros in the gift shop to gather sand from the beach in which is definitely the best souvenir you can get here.

Spent an hour, which was a little rushed with time. 90 minutes would be perfect if you want to take in every interest. The path through the museum is easy to follow and has some seating to rest if needed. I would recommend others to visit if they're in the area.

Esperienza fantastica: It’s worth a visit! Great panoramic view of the beach, great exhibits and a full size B-26 inside a hanger. Really close to lots of monuments and only €8 per person!

Esperienza fantastica: Superb and vastly updated museum that fully brings home the enormity of the achievement of the D-day landings. The cafe opposite is reasonably priced, and was actually there on D day - a fisherman's cottage at the side of a bunker!

Esperienza fantastica: A very well laid out memorial to this pivotal moment of WW2. The whole area is very easy to navigate around and the museum is a must see in my opinion, with a very impressively curated array of artifacts that help describe and explain the many different stories and timeline of events leading up to and during the operation

Esperienza fantastica: Loved this museum as it has a massive airplane, that they took years to restore with all the original parts! They also have tanks and other guns displayed outside of the museum, as well as a flat boat that was used for disembarking on the beaches. Top experience!

Esperienza fantastica: Nice place to go to see where the Normandy invasion took place in 1944. It is important that we as US citizens understand that there were a lot more than American lives sacrificed on this beach and others nearby. The site has great displays and artifacts from the battles fought here.

Esperienza fantastica: Utah beach is easy to visit as all things to see are within a few hundred meters radius. The central place occupies the D-day museum set in the center in a bunker like edifice. We found it to be the best one along with the Bayeux museum, very well displayed, easy to navigate and informative. Likewise the Omaha museum, I advise buying a Utah beach labeled empty jar that you fill later with sand down on the beach - a very original souvenir.

Esperienza fantastica: One of the best museums I’ve been to in a while in France, a must-do for history enthusiasts. Entrance i to the museum is 12 euros for adults, a video is offered in English and in French and there are English translations on all exhibitions.

Esperienza fantastica: Nice location, big terras, good and fast service. We ordered a sandwich with french fries and were amazed about the size and the quality. Very good. And the ketchup and mayonaise is allready on the table

Esperienza fantastica: I didn't anticipate the powerful experience that this would be. I've known the history of the place, but to stand where those soldiers stood... to feel the breeze in your face and smell the ocean brought deeper appreciation than I could imagine. The blood spilt there in the cause of freedom made this a sacred place to me. There is a quiet reverence at the location.

Esperienza fantastica: We were here 5 years ago and I was very pleased see many improvements and added exhibits to the museum. I think now it is one of the best attractions in the Normandy area to fully appreciate the D Day experience. We were especially appreciative of the discussion on the founding and the continued support of the museum by the citizens of Sainte Marie Du Mont. Make sure you take the time to read about this. I think some of the exhibits and discussions are very good and they bring out the very intimate aspects of how the war affected people on all sides.
