Esperienza fantastica: Beautiful museum set in a stunning building on the Grand Square in the heart of Brussels. It is set over 3 floors and doesn't have a lift. You need to bear this in mind and there are a lot of steps to the very top. They have plenty of good exhibits and show a window into the past lives of Brussels. On the second floor they have a large model that shows how Brussels looked with it's Walls around the whole city

Esperienza fantastica: Sehr schönes Brüsseler Stadtmuseum! Auf unserer Besichtigungstour durch Brüssel kamen wir an dem sehr schönen Stadtmuseum am großen Markt gelegen vorbei als. Als lohnende Sehenswürdigkeit empfehlen wir das historische Gebäude deshalb klar weiter!

De kunstwerken waren mooi doch sommige categorieën vond ik wat teveel (lees: wandtapijten). Alles bijeen wel het geld waard.

Esperienza fantastica: À l’occasion du premier dimanche du mois, je me suis aventurée dans les salles de magnifique et sinueux musée. J’ai, par ailleurs, beaucoup apprécié la quête secondaire proposée : celle de trouver le même chien dans tous les tableaux du musée ️ J’ai aussi apprécié la belle céramique ainsi que l’escalier. Toilettes convenables mais exiguës. Il faut réserver sa place à l’avance sur le site internet (évidemment)

Esperienza fantastica: Das Brüsseler Stadtmuseum befindet sich zentral am Grooe Markt und enthält umfangreiche Informationen zu der Brüsseler Stadtgeschichte. Insbesondere werden über die Gewerke welche in Verbindung mit der Stadt stehen informiert. Dem Manneken Pis ist auch ein kleiner Teil gewidmet und auch die angeblich originale Figur ist hier ausgestellt. Die oberste Etage war zum Zeitpunkt meines Besuches gerade im Umbau, daher es gab da nicht so viel zu sehen. Als Inhaber der Brüssel Card erhält man hier freien Eintritt.

Esperienza positiva: A wonderful little museum documenting the history of Brussels and the Mannekin Pis. Very friendly and helpful staff and beautiful architecture. My only criticism is that unfortunately, many of the signs and descriptions had no English translation, especially on the ground floor.

Esperienza positiva: Lots of information and very educating. While the staff working inside (technical engineers) should talk mote quietly as their loud voice disturbs the visitors from concentrating on the contents, including some audio related contents.

Esperienza fantastica: It is a museum worth visiting. I liked the part devoted to the history of the Manneken Pis the most. You can see the original statue here, the one on the street is a replica. Additionally, there are paintings, maps, city models, textiles, and more. There are toilets and lockers inside.

La Maison du Roi ou Le musée de la ville de Bruxelles est un musée qui est consacré au patrimoine et à l’histoire de la ville de Bruxelles et à son développement urbanistique des origines à aujourd'hui. Vous pourrez admirer son histoire au travers de peintures, sculptures, tapisseries, gravures, photos et maquettes, dont une maquette de la ville au Moyen Âge.

Esperienza positiva: I visited the museum around end of April. There is audio guide that I found useful to understand the key features in the museum and understand better about Brussels. The museum shows different period of history from first floor up to 3rd floor. If you just follow the audio guide, you can finish the museum in 45 minutes. The toilets for men and women are available. A place to put your coat is free but you have to pay to use the lockers. There are some stairs you need to climb and enjoy some paintings and sculptures along the way. A moderate space of waiting room in 2nd floor you can use to rest.

Esperienza fantastica: Nice museum with some excellent information about the history of Belgium and Brussels. I especially enjoyed learning about some of the traditional crafts the country/city are known for. Definitely recommend the audioguide (which you can access with your own cell phone).

Esperienza positiva: The building has a historical atmosphere. Right in the center of the city. Although it is a city museum, there are few artifacts. There is no English on the information cards. A museum that can be visited in a short time.

Esperienza positiva: It's a great place to stop by during your visit in Brussels. It has an interesting collection of Brussels history and you can even find here the real Manneken Pis. Some art pieces really fascinated me and it was worth coming here.

Esperienza fantastica: Great museum! Definitely a museum I recommend to add to your bucket list in Belgium. It’s in the middle of downtown Brussels, very close to everything and commercial buildings. The whole tour takes around 1h to 2h. If you have the Brussels card, the tickets are included so make sure to avail all the benefits. The museum is well structured and offers an insight into the beginnings of Brussels and other historical sites related to it. The Manneken Pis is also hosted here and you can see the wide range of his costumes. Don’t miss out on it!

Čia veikė kalėjimas ir mokesčių tarnyba, bet niekada negyveno joks karalius Muziejuje pasakojama miesto istorija, saugomi XVI amžiaus kostiumai, gobelenai, paveikslai. Taip pat čia rasite visus besišlapinančio berniuko skulptūros dėvėtus kostiumus. Verta apsilankyti.

Esperienza fantastica: Uma ótima introdução à cidade de Bruxelas e à sua história. O próprio edifício é fenomenal. A história de Santa Gulupa está soberbamente contada através de lasers e aúdio sob a muito degradada e bastante sombria escultura.

Esperienza positiva: The museum focuses on the history of the city and all yhe important incidents throughout the years, especially the ones that are not talked about a lot. You can expect to spend about an hour or two, depending on how much you intend to read in detail about all the information.

Esperienza fantastica: A collection of images and artefacts that tell the story of the city of Brussels with an emphasis on the history and renovation of the Grand Place. My favorites were the Tapestries and the gilded Altarpiece. The building itself is noteworthy as an example of 19th century Gothic revival architecture.

Esperienza fantastica: Museu com coleção variada de obras de arte e objetos (como porcelanas) que fazem parte da história da cidade de Bruxelas. Conhecido como "La Maison du Roi" em francês, seu edifício é de estilo neo-gótico do século XIX. Neste museu se encontra a famosa estátua original do menino fazendo xixi, a qual tem uma réplica numa rua próxima. A entrada é gratuita aos domingos (dia que visitei).

Esperienza positiva: Museum over treinen en de gereedschappen. Echte treinen Ten tijde van vroeger en nu Al even geleden bezocht. Maar onze kleinzoon vond het fantastisch.Zoals je kunt zien op de foto. Een spreuk zegt:"Geluk is altijd in beweging, altijd onderweg en het enige wat je kunt doen is het spoor volgen."

Esperienza fantastica: Une journée inoubliable.. Sans voir le temps passer, nous y sommes restés de l'ouverture à la fermeture. Des collections exceptionnelles ! Grand moment d'émotion pour moi devant les toiles de Bruegel. Du 16 e siècle jusqu'à Magritte, nous sommes allés de merveilles en merveilles. Dommage que le musée n'ouvre qu'à 11h. Nous y retournerons pour mieux profiter des différentes salles. Bravo !

Esperienza positiva: Quite a good little museum with lots of historical information and artifacts about Brussels. Not much to keep the kids interested, but it was still one of our favourite places we visited in Brussels. Relatively cheap to enter and there were free lockers to put bags so that you didn't have to carry them along the museum. The mystery is over 3 levels.

Esperienza fantastica: If you want to know a ton about the history of Brussels and it's architecture in just about an hour, plus see the actual Mannekin Pis statue, visit this museum! Easy to walk through and see art, pottery, furniture and maps that describe the various eras of the city and who rules when and how. It's really cool it's using the legit original building as well.

Esperienza positiva: Start from the last floor to discover the original Manneken-Pis. This museum has more than 7.000 pieces to discover the history of Brussels. As Brussels resident, I loved it. It’s nice to see paintings of the old Brussels. For tourists, I recommend to visit this museum only if you have spare time. The visit takes around 1h30/2h. The entrance is 10 euros for adults and 4 euros for students and kids. Brussels has an incredible story but I don’t think this exposition helps the discovery in an easy and user friendly way. A lot to improve in the journey of the visit to the museum. I recommend to start from the last floor where you learn about the history of the city. Then, go down to ground floor where there are the less interesting pottery and the statues from the old city.

Most notably this museum houses the original weathervane from the Town Hall opposite. There is good wifi through which visitors are able to access a complementary audio or visual guide

Esperienza positiva: Són nous com museo els funcionaris s'han anat a l'edifici d'oficines nou a prop de Santa Caterina. Els hi falten molts al·licients per fer-ho interessant i amè. La guia llegia els apunts escrits que portava. 15€/persona la visita d'una hora.

Esperienza positiva: 位於布魯塞爾大廣場內，如果喜歡藝術的人可順道參觀，共有3層，地下有免費廁所但很細，不是大型新式博物館的那種建築，內裏沒有冷氣。展品豐富由雕像、油畫、攝影、陶瓷等等都有，地方雖然不大但密集式的擺放令讓你花上半日觀看。

Esperienza positiva: Niet echt ons ding qua inhoud, maar museum was gratis 1e zondag van de maand. Heeft 2 verdiepen met serieuze trappen. Op bovenste verdiep is de echte manneken pis te bewonderen met enkele garde robes.

Esperienza positiva: Prachtig neogotisch gebouw daterend uit het laatste kwart van de negentiende eeuw. Vermoedelijk stond hier in de 13de eeuw reeds een houten constructie op palen. In de loop der eeuwen verschillende malen herbouwd en verbouwd. In het Nederlands ‘Het Broodhuis’ genoemd verwijzend naar het feit dat hier op de centrale markt een broodhal was gevestigd. In het Frans ‘Maison du Roi’ verwijzend naar de hertogen van Brabant die de eigenaars waren. In de zestiende eeuw was Keizer Karel V, koning van Spanje, de heer van deze plaats. Centraal op de voorgevel staat trouwens een beeld van hem. In het museum binnenin is het originele beeld van ‘Manneken Pis’ te vinden samen met een heleboel kledingstukken uit zijn garderobe.

Esperienza fantastica: Dit is ook een museum dat je moet bezoeken als je op de grote markt bent. Het aantal bezoekers valt erg mee. Het zo’n prachtig pand aan de grote markt met veel allure.

Esperienza positiva: Great collection showing the evolution of Brussels through historic maps, paintings, and other artefacts including the oldest version of Manneken Pis. Resides in the gorgeous Neo Gothic Breadhouse. Two negatives: the display is often quite dark and messy. And you can no longer stand on the balcony for views of the square, according to people who work here.

Esperienza positiva: Leuke plek, vrij klein museum maar met een goed overzicht van de uitbreiding van de stad Brussel. In de thematische kamers worden echter slechts een paar stukken tentoongesteld, zij het prachtige.

Esperienza fantastica: Very interesting to know more about the history of the Grand Place for example- did you know that this 'Maison du Roi' (in which the museum is housed) started off as a rickety bread house? The museum depicts Brussels through the ages in an array of media- paintings, sculptures, tapestries, photos, touch screens, as well as a very well-made 'maquette' of Brussels in the middle ages. Definitely worth a visit!

Esperienza positiva: Interesting Museum that has website audio guide. They have wifi for you can use the audio guide within the building. Recommended to bring your earphones so you can listen to the guide and explore the museum. Wish there were more types of souvenirs from the museum though. :)

Esperienza fantastica: One of the good city museum!! a lot of maps and explanations, multilingual and the building itself is attraction enough. Besides the uprising of brussels one, besides other stuff, also learns s lot about the city bombardement of 1695, the manneken pis and sees the former original statue living on top of hotel de ville.

The collections are nice and the displayed statues from the fifteenth century are really mesmerizing! They also have the original mannikan-pis statue. The visit is definitely worth it

Esperienza positiva: Fantastic place in the heart of city to visit with great atmosphere in the square and lively ambience all days but especially in the evenings when there’s music or concert - it will be lively moments. There’s some renovations work in progress that may restrict the view in one corner of the square but the charm is still there. A must visit place while in Brussels. History of Brussels city and how it evolved. Also real Manneken Pis kept.

Esperienza fantastica: Sitting in the center of the Grand Place, this museum leaves all hustle and bustle outside and provides a cool and serene atmosphere. With numerous artifacts, painting, sculptures, and tapestries, the museum tells the rich history of the city and the nation. I specifically enjoyed the large model displaying the City of Brussels in the 13th century. It really shows the life and landscape 800+ years back. The museum has the original Manneken Pis statue and some interesting stories behind it. There is a VR game to bring you back to the night when the city of Brussels was bombarded by the French troops. The building itself is beautiful with architectural charm. The entrance fee is included in the Brussels Card. If you don’t have a Brussels Card, a single entry ticket also enables you to go to the nearby Manneken Pis costumes museum. Well worth the visit.

Esperienza fantastica: Very beautiful, outstandingly European, and one of the most clicked places of Belgium. Highly recommended to visit during mid - August, (the assumption of Mary - 15 August) as the empty square in the decorated with flowers and some stunning light shows are organised in the evening.
