Nuovo Museo
ℹ️ Informazione
- Posizione vicina a Soho e Chinatown.
- Ingresso accessibile con opzioni di 'paga quello che vuoi' il giovedì.
- Spazi ben progettati e accoglienti.
In generale, il New Museum è consigliato a coloro che amano l'arte contemporanea, anche se l'esperienza può variare a seconda dell'esposizione in corso e del servizio clienti.

🗣️ Nuovo Museo: Opinioni
Esperienza fantastica: Looking forward to the reopening
Esperienza fantastica: The musuem was beautiful and the Wangechi Mutu exhibit was incredible
Esperienza fantastica: Great Judy Chicago show !
Esperienza fantastica: Great experience very quiet
Esperienza fantastica: Loved the museum! The staff was amazing and loved it that I could give my jacket up for free! Perfect for a solo date afternoon
Esperienza fantastica: Beautiful modern museum with unique shows / events on art and creativity. It was amazing to attend the Judy Chicago exhibit closing panel discussion and hear the artists' commentary! Fun gift shop too.
Esperienza positiva: Great museum with lots of variety. It's definitely worth going whenever there's a new display.
Esperienza fantastica: lovely art!
Esperienza negativa: Unfortunately a truly negative experience due to the staff. Every exchange was incredibly curt or needlessly intense. A mix of the condescension folks worry about experiencing when visiting art institutions, and the feeling of being surveilled/your presence resented while in the gallery spaces.
Esperienza positiva: The exhibits can be a hit or miss depending on what you like. It’s usually a 50% for me. Space is interesting and beautiful.
Esperienza fantastica: Cute little dt museum, pretty easy to get to and also has super nice observation deck on the top floor.
Esperienza negativa: Great Judy Chicago exhibit. Ticket staff knew nothing about reciprocal museum memberships and literally sat there and stared instead of trying to learn or help.
Esperienza fantastica: Judy Chicago exhibit was very, very good. Not sure how long it will be there. It's very worth checking out.
Esperienza fantastica: Wonderful museum with excellent exhibitions. Always well presented and interesting. Kudos to the current Judy Chicago exhibit.
Esperienza fantastica: Fantastic museum. The skyroom was a great photo op and got our favorite photo of the trip up there. Judy Chicago exhibit was powerful and great for my 14 yo daughter to see. Loved it all
Esperienza fantastica: The Judy Chicago exhibit was beyond words, but a good start would be bold, provocative and empowering. Staff were so friendly and helpful. The views of NY from the top of the building are amazing!
Esperienza positiva: I enjoyed learning about a variety of contemporary female artists in the Judy Chicago exhibit. I particularly enjoyed the works from her holocaust series. Tickets were $20 ($16 for students), and as of 1/10/23, the sky room at the top is closed.
Esperienza positiva: There are about 3-4 floors of a current exhibit. Because this museum isn’t super close to a tourist’s area - it’s not as busy as other museums near Times Square. Be sure to visit the 7th floor (if it’s open) outdoor semi wrap around patio. Stunning view.
Esperienza fantastica: Really really loved the Judy Chicago exhibition. Nice building with cool views at the top. Would have appreciated a little more written information in the exhibition:)
Esperienza fantastica: Amazing Judy Chicago show. Fantastic!
Esperienza negativa: this has by far been the worst museum i’ve ever been to. the staff was unlike any other, they were rude and reluctant to answer any questions regarding the art, its meaning, and the curatorial decisions made at large. it was extremely disappointing to be policed in such a way that made this experience, which was 60$ for 2 people, unbearable. I will never again step foot in this building, it has been two times i have been here and been treated this way and i’m sure others will agree. the new museum is horrible and undemocratic at its core; because of the price, rules, and treatment of their patrons. if i could give 0 stars, i without a doubt would. DO NOT GO.
Esperienza fantastica: This museum never disappoints. It's fresh and innovative. See the Judy Chicago exhibit, it's great! Lovely staff, fun gift shop, great location near Soho and Chinatown.
Esperienza fantastica: Good space, well designed, and past time to recognize Judy Chicago.
Esperienza negativa: Perhaps the staff are very bored but if you get close to any pictures (and I’m not talking about being closing enough to touch- I mean close enough to read the plaques) I was aggressively told to move- not asked politely, but actually treated disrespectfully It unfortunately made my entire experience sad and disappointing The exhibition was glorious (Judy Chicago) but not worth being treated like a cockroach
Esperienza positiva: Exhibits are pretty awesome if you like current, modern art. Elevators can be pretty slow and crowded. The layout of the museum is also pretty terrible.
Esperienza negativa: We did not like the exhibition, we like modern art but this was too much. Took us less than 20 minutes to see all. It is overpriced in our opinion. If you want come, come Thursdays that is pay what you want between 7 and 9pm.
Esperienza fantastica: Great museum with fresh thought provoking art. Incredible views from the top floor as well.
Esperienza fantastica: An architecturally striking building with amazing views of New York from the rooftop patio. The exhibitions were also very well curated and (in some cases) spanned multiple floors.
Esperienza positiva: Great accommodation for people of all backgrounds. Nice staff and tickets are the only cost. Art students doing projects on herstory which is interesting. The side gallery is a bit confusing as the illustrations did not always match the artworks even though they are all pretty good.
Esperienza fantastica: I had a lovely time visiting the Judy Chicago exhibit. The range of works was stunning, as was the view from the top of the Museum. The staff were kind and helpful, and I felt truly immersed in the art. I was able to see all the museum had to offer and appreciate the works in a few hours. A great place to go for an spur of the moment trip, and if you enjoy contemporary art.
Esperienza fantastica: This place has deeply shaped how I think about contemporary art. The building is gorgeous too, with a lovely view of the city.
Esperienza fantastica: Great exhibits that showed off the breadth of a contemporary artists work by dedicating an entire floor to them. I felt like I was really experiencing these unique worldviews from within rather than as a passive observer. I didn't do any research before going and saw the final weekend of one exhibit but it seems to rotate exhibits every few months so it must be worth visiting often. There was also a poetry event with nuyorican poets society that I sat in on. It was time well spent! Definitely go
Esperienza fantastica: Visiting the New Museum was AMAZING! This contemporary art haven in Manhattan impressed me not only with its stunning architecture but also with its commitment to showcasing emerging artists. The Sky Room on the 7th floor offers breathtaking views of the city which is perfect for pictures with cityscapes in the background. Love love love! Definitely worth the visit.
Esperienza fantastica: The New Museum is a treasure for all art lovers. Always something interesting to discover with a spectacular view of the city from the rooftop.
Esperienza fantastica: Pay what you wish Thursday nights, not as lively as moma, they need to get some music and drinks happening. Good curation of contemporary artists from around the world, exhibits can be hit and miss but worth the visit (but maybe not the full entry price).
Esperienza positiva: This is my fv museum in NYC, innovative and modern art through the eyes of amazing artists around the globe.
Esperienza fantastica: Always surprising shows by interesting emerging and established artists from all over the world. Never disappointing! Great shop. What happened to the café?
Esperienza fantastica: Really cute museum! Great views of lower Manhattan, too. Free for students from certain colleges, inexpensive for everyone else. They had really interesting art pieces that actually had meaning. I enjoyed my trip.
Esperienza negativa: Not impressed my basement got more inspiration art ,,I can take anyone on a underground art show 3minutes from there that would blow your mind or check out ig dusternyc and see for yourself,,,tickets are free art is wild
Esperienza negativa: I was standing in the corner of a quiet exhibit hall with no one else around. I took off my mask for half a second to wipe my nose, and a staff member immediately started yelling at me, scared the hell out of everyone. After that, she secretly followed me everywhere I went, and I could tell that there was always a pair of eyes on me. I felt like I was not visiting a museum but a thief on the run from the police.
Esperienza fantastica: Incredible building with a fantastic curation of art. The whole experience is more than worth it and the cherry on top is it's beautiful terrace and overview of Manhattan.
Esperienza positiva: We really loved the exhibition! We did not know that Faith had such an extensive collection of extraordinary art. We were pleased that we were able to experience her creativity.
Esperienza negativa: Wonderful exhibition but very abusive treatment from the staff for taking a photograph. No one else in the room was singled out but me. Guard and supervisors have a problem relating to the public.
Esperienza fantastica: I love The New Museum!! It’s one of my favorites in NYC! I love their programming and scale, as I can go for a few hours and take my time, seeing everything at a languid pace. ☺️
Esperienza fantastica: A beautiful museum. We went to see Wangechi Mutu 's exhibition, which was so worth it. A wonderful overview of her career up until now. In depth, and well curated. Lovely views from the top too
Esperienza positiva: Wangechi Mutu’s work on display was thoughtfully curated and very engaging. The layout of the museum with the various floors not being accessible to the public and the elevator being so slow, the gift shop being sort of weak, and the security guards/staff having somewhat strange energy knocks down the stars. Free coatcheck though!
Esperienza positiva: Great Theaster Gates exhibition.
Esperienza positiva: This museum, when I visited, was featuring a particular artist's work across the various floors. You can go up the stairs all the way to the roof and see a number of visual things.
Esperienza fantastica: Fabulous fantastic and truly amazing exhibit of Wangechi Mutu- I can’t say enough about this exhibit of this extraordinary artist. She is beyond creative- she has created a living environment of her soul. Do not miss!!!!
Esperienza positiva: The museum had a dedicated exposition at the time, including paintings, sculptures and other modern art. The art exposed had elements of grotesque, but it was interesting. There are options to get free tickets online.
Esperienza fantastica: Went on a Thursday night (free admission from 7-9) and was thoroughly impressed! Great balcony for views of the city, and great art! Mutu collection of intertwined was very cool.
Esperienza fantastica: First time seeing Theaster Gates’ works in person. Powerful!
Esperienza fantastica: This is one of my top museums choices in nyc. It’s the right size. The shows feel intimate but still expansive. I especially love when it’s one artist showing in the entire building. The curation is usually great, unique, boundary pushing, captivating.
Esperienza positiva: Not a fan of the art on display currently but the free opening hours were nice and the gallery has huge potential as the spaces inside are very beautiful and have lots of different lighting possibilities. Would visit again for a different show.
Esperienza fantastica: A whole museum for one artist at a time.
Esperienza fantastica: Came here for a special exhibit. Floors are well laid out with some seating available. Art was well signed and lighted. There's a cafe and a gift store. We bought timed tickets in advance but there was no wait when we got there. Overall, a great experience of seeing the art we were interested in.
Esperienza fantastica: Wangechi Mutu exhibit was moving and offered great insight into her motivation and evolution as an artist
Esperienza positiva: I’d recommend going on Thursday nights, when it’s donation-based entry from 7-9. The building and gift shop are really nice, and there’s a good view of the city from the top floor. The exhibits on display when I was there left a bit to be desired, but I’d give it another shot when some new work gets installed.
Esperienza positiva: Went to see the Hammond organ exhibit. They happened to have a special group in that day. We didn't see the original exhibit. But this one was unique in its own way.
Esperienza fantastica: Thursday 7-9 afterhours are a great way to see the museum
Esperienza fantastica: Really cool museum with tremendous exhibits. A must see for visitors to NYC!
Esperienza negativa: If you want to pay $18 per person to see a view worse than the one for free at the Bowery hotel, a 15ft tall carpet, and some videos of people dancing, then this is the place for you. Think this is probably the worst museum in NYC, 0/10 do not recommend. (The photo is from the stairwell which might as well be the best exhibit there).
Esperienza fantastica: When you ask me why you love contemporary museums and modern and organic architectural design, this museum will be the title really. It is one of the contemporary architectural buildings you must visit in New York. It will give you the impression you want and will make you love contemporary and industrial design.
Esperienza fantastica: Been there on the 20th of May for the exhibition of Wangechi Mutu (look it up ) and damn boi. It's included in the NewYorkPass by GoCity
Esperienza positiva: Your experience will depend largely on the what is on exhibit at the time and your interest in contemporary art. The space itself is quite nice and the museum is fairly compact so this will be a relatively fast visit.
Esperienza positiva: Unique place, the art that is being presented has a nice modern feel. However the use of the space within the building disappointed me. There is a lot of open space and the potential for more art pieces or exhibitions is there yet isn’t used. Both photos shown are closeups of different exhibitions that where held.
Esperienza fantastica: The entire museum is currently dedicated to a comprehensive retrospective of the art in all formats of Kenyan artist Wengechi Mutu A unique and exciting artist
Esperienza positiva: Curation has greatly improved over the years. “Wangechi Mutu: Intertwined” is worth the trip. I love collages! Process for welcoming visitors needs improvement.
Esperienza positiva: Amazing contemporary museum. Looks like the artist was given freedom to make it an immersive experience for the visitors. It would take about 45 min to an hour to see the galleries. Do step out on the balcony of the 7th floor gallery for the NY view.
Esperienza fantastica: Just saw the Wangechi Mutu show before it closed and was truly inspired by the class of contemporary art available at New Museum. As an educator, artist, and student, I love the work they do. Same when I saw the Nari Ward show, the faith Ringgold show, or any of their triennials! Such great place to view art of zeitgeist!
Esperienza fantastica: The wangechi mutu - retrospective is absolutely stunning. Well curated and beautifully organized. Her powerful work has got it's well deserved spotlight in this exhibition.
Esperienza positiva: Went today. 12 July 23. Interesting exhibits. Spacious. Cool. Fear-inducing elevators that seem to never arrive and then won’t go. Take the stairs if you can.
Esperienza fantastica: Not really my type of art—I think I'm just not into modern art, but it's a cool building with colourful bathrooms. The view from the top floor is pretty nice too.
Esperienza positiva: This was an amazing museum exhibit about womanhood, feminism and the overall journey of minorities. The pieces weee incredibly creative and I was in awe the entire duration of my visit. The current exhibit features Kenyan artist Wangechi Mutu.
Esperienza fantastica: The museum is relatively small and can be toured in 1 hour. The rooftop view is pretty good and the “My Beating Heart” exhibit was very interesting.
Esperienza fantastica: The New Museum"s exhibitions and programming has gotten so good over the last few years. Makes it worthwhile to be a member and see every new show. Currently there are 2 must-sees: Pepon Osorio (2nd fl) and Mire Lee (5th fl), and a wall piece by Wynnie Mynerva in the lobby.
Esperienza positiva: Unique experience. Not my cup of tea as museums go, but the highlight was actually the GIANT lime green elevator and the rooftop terrace with 360° views of the area. Current installations are quite bizarre and more cultural documentarys IMHO. I like going to museums with beautiful paintings and sculptures, but to each their own.
Esperienza negativa: To be honest, I love the museum very much, and for a very long time I was going to get specifically to this museum. The only inspiring place it's rooftop. Otherwise, all the exhibits and paintings that I saw made me deeply depressed, and I left after 10 minutes.I do not want to offend anyone and I think that creativity is wonderful. Ah, but I probably just didn't get it. The only thing that seemed to me that the people who created it and have some kind of mental disorder. I would not advise anyone to visit this place if you have a healthy mind.
Esperienza fantastica: Very interesting contemporary art museum with constantly rotating exhibitions highlighting a variety of artists and perspectives. Highlights include some live events such as a live organ performance while I was there. They also have a beautiful outdoor deck on the top floor with surround views of the city.
Esperienza fantastica: Fantastic exhibition space. Roomy galleries. Well chosen exhibits which are truly educative. Cheap entrance fee for NY.
Esperienza fantastica: one of the most wonderful and important modern art museums operating currently. the triennial is not to be missed, the art is genius, poignant, beautifully curated, and truly thought-provoking. staff are kind, art is lovely. go!!! and no lines either cause its mad underrated
Esperienza fantastica: always showings, sometimes controversial& Loud ? #Art&RaceMatters through Oct9
Esperienza negativa: A staff member bullied and loudly shamed my 11 yo daughter who touched a tapestry, even after we respectfully apologized and she acknowledged her mistake. The docent, a grown man, got within inches of her face and threatened to write an incident report. She cried for quite some time. Nice rooftop.
Esperienza fantastica: Great Thursday night hangout spot when tickets are pay-what-you-wish from 7pm-9pm. Small museum when compared to others, but one of the best places to experience contemporary art.
Esperienza negativa: A museum obsessed with resentment of modernity. In my visit today, I did not observe a single work of art that might be said to celebrate or raise the human condition. Basically everything is whining or ugliness that attempts to transport itself to great heights by virtue of cynicism. Effective criticism cannot be holistic. This place seems to look at the world and scream, "worthless." If you enjoy bizarre video art, pull it up on YouTube and save $18.
Esperienza fantastica: New Museum, is a very interesting museum because it is rare and at the same time unique, the gallery on the second floor is half explicit but if you are an adult there is no problem. Recommended if you want to see something new out of the ordinary.
Esperienza positiva: I went to the Ringgold exhibit. The art was great; the accompanying signage was horrible. Printed in an infinitesimal font, the text forced you to get up close and block off anyone else's view. Many people resorted to their smartphones, but then you have a bunch of people staring at little screens. It felt wrong.
Esperienza fantastica: Amazing exhibits and a fabulous rooftop view!
Esperienza negativa: The moment I get to the door to this place, I was not greeted in a friendly manner. I felt like I was being checked in by TSA. It was a bit of confusion as far as what to do when being checked in. People who was at the front giving instructions did not inform the front desk. when we get to the front desk the young colored hair lady was arrogant. When I got to the top floor, the black security guard was disrespectful. When I asked for his name he completely ignored me. I spoke to Timothy the supervisor who was apologetic and sincere and just reiterated the rules. When we decided to go back to the top floor after viewing all the rooms, the guard made it really uncomfortable for us by staring at us through the window for 3-5 mins. This ruined my experience at this location. I would never return to a place like this because of the staff and I would never recommend this place. I apologize to the artist because if staff I would never show or tell about this place and I would always remember the short bald headed security guard with the crocs in my mind when I think about this place. What a way to finish my visit with the security guard starting at me through the glass window. Never again! Save your money people!!!!!!
Esperienza negativa: Art Museum? Don’t think so. There is only three floors of limited exhibitions and lack of variety. Elevators are extremely slow and stairs in between floors are tedious. The only salvageable thing was the seventh floor view, good luck getting there with those stairs though.
Esperienza negativa: I would not go back there. The new exhibition is disappointing. The art was minimal, barely a few videos and a few sculpture over 3 floors that dont make sense together and will take you 20 minute to see max so not really worth it.. And they are the only place we came across that is completely at odds with the rest of the city at this point. It is EXTREMELY strict about mask wearing when 99.9% of businesses and venues in NYC dont have a requirement anymore as of July 2022! If it slips 1 inch on your nose while you are wearing it they will follow you and scold you. Hope these people don't go to a bar or restaurant or any other place after work since they are so strict and freaked out. And one of the staff at the ticket center is far from welcoming and rather rude.
Esperienza positiva: Lynn Hershman Lee son - twisted exhibition is interesting
Esperienza fantastica: Great exhibit! Faith Ringgold. Only downside--not enough benches for us old folks. Also, a deal with a parking lot would help
Esperienza negativa: This experience was ruined by museum staff and their petty rules. Will never return.
Esperienza positiva: Museum can be hit or miss depending on the current exhibits. Definitely go on a Thursday when it’s free and reserve tickets in advance
Esperienza positiva: To be honest the exhibits were sparse and small during my visit (sep 2021) that had no real depth to them. It felt more like a multimedia gallery space than a museum. It’s true the roof deck has a great view, but the space up there is empty... no chairs, and a lost opportunity to have a nice cafe up there. If you have to spend the $18 to get in, I honestly would skip the new museum.
Esperienza positiva: Great exhibition of Faith Ringgold. Museum is a rather badly designed place with very bad galleries and stairwells. Come see the art, despite the bad space.
Esperienza negativa: This was a low-quality museum for the price paid. A handful of the docents were super sweet but the negative always weighs more and there were super judgmental docents that sadly I will not forget. While I am not an art expert of any kind, I visit museums from time to time when I travel. And this place was, overall, a joke. Lots of weird crap—some literally looked like trash. I mostly paid to see a collection of trash. The movie was cool though. Do better or make this place free!
Esperienza fantastica: Para mi, el edificio contemporáneo más bonito de NYC y el mejor museo de arte contemporáneo. Obras con mucho sentido y muy bien explicadas. Exposiciones que mueven sentimientos
Esperienza fantastica: I throughly enjoyed my visit to the New Museum. It was my first experience there. The facility was very accessible and the Faith Ringgold exhibit was excellent!
