Esperienza fantastica: A very nice museum for western themed art and artifacts. Beautiful furniture, sculptures and paintings. I like seeing recent and current generations of artists keeping the genre alive. My GPS directed me to the "back" entrance which wound around and through residential; would be nice if signage/arrows were offered for all ways in, not just the main entrance since mapping info may send people through the "neighborhood".

Esperienza fantastica: Visited during Spring Break as a group of 6, including 2 boys aged 4-6. Easy to find and free car parking near the entrance. Finding the parking area wasn’t clear, but we got there. The front entrance has a cool walls of cow bells that you could hit to make sound. We ain’t have to wait to get in - the place was quiet and we basically had the run of it. The staff were all friendly and after we paid to enter we were given a 1-3 minute welcome presentation and then could go diff to explore. There were a few big rooms full of paintings, sculptures, display saddles, some cases with pistols and Derringers under glass. There was even a room in the back aimed towards kids - it had a full-sized wagon, a large tent, and dress-up outfits. Our boys dressed up like cowboys and spent the whole time looking in the crates at the plastic food and equipment that the old-timers used to lug around on their frontier journeys. The boys were satisfied. There’s a great variety of art and they all evoked the spirit of the West. One thing I’d have liked to see was labels that said the date and description of the art pieces, beyond the artist name and piece title which was provided. We stayed about an hour which was enough to see all the rooms. Browser the gift shop which had books, art prints, leather and jewellery items. I’d recommend visiting this museum, even in you have young kids.

Esperienza fantastica: We went to the museum for the Christmas kids' event. My 8 yo granddaughter had a wonderful time making 5 crafts, singing Carols, & enjoying time with other children in the children's room. It was very educational with a covered wagon, teepee, campsite, etc.

Esperienza fantastica: This is a fantastic museum highlighting western art. The docent was really informative with details about the building itself being a work of art. Focus on the interior domes and end-cut wood tile flooring, as well as the exterior grounds. There are many bronze statues depicting western themes as well as many paintings from different artists in a variety of styles. This is a must visit location if you find yourself in Kerrville, Texas before 4pm on a weekday or Saturday. Unfortunately the museum is closed on Sunday. If you live in Kerrville and you have not yet been to this museum… put it on your list immediately.

Esperienza fantastica: The Museum of Western Art is a fantastic place to visit when in the Hill Country!! This weekend we hosted my mom's celebration of life event at the museum. It was an amazing venue and everyone who attended was in awe of the beautiful artwork!! Thank you to Darrell and his crew over there at the museum for EVERYTHING you did to make the event so wonderful for our friends and family! If you are hosting an event in Kerrville we highly recommend this wonderful venue!!

Esperienza fantastica: Do NOT USE Google maps or Waze to find this place. ALL of the electronic apps direct you to the wrong place. The Museum was very enjoyable starting with the architecture and continuing with the exhibits. Many Western themed items (bronze statutes, saddles beautiful paintings antique desks, etc.). Volunteers were readily available to answer questions and often provided interesting facts about the exhibits. We’ll worth the time to visit. We will be returning.

Esperienza fantastica: It has taken me 7 years to finally tour this museum, it's fabulous. Very historical.

Esperienza fantastica: Really cool exposition of local art and historical art. The curators on site are very helpful and knowledgeable. Parking is easy and abundant and the site is easy to spot off the main road. There was a kids section that was interactive. Its worth the small admission fee.

We had fun watching the poorly educated who pull in late and leave early (Cracker Bearelesk) missing a cultural upgade waiting inside. Class a's you might want to arrive toward the end of the day for more spot options. If your rig gets a window broken by a golf ball, that's what players call "a hole in one" Oh the trials of bus life.

Esperienza fantastica: The Museum of Western Art is one of several incredible treasures found in Kerrville and the surrounding Hill Country. This museum houses some of the most amazing paintings and sculptures depicting the life of the cowboy. It has expanded to include more than the Cowboy Artists, but this has enhanced the views. The staff and caretakers of this lovely gallery are knowledgeable and passionate. Art is not only on display, but educational hands-on events constantly inspiring new artists and young creativity. If you are in the area, it is a must see.

Esperienza fantastica: My wife and I came here and we didn't know what to expect. Once we entered it was a total delight. Everything was amazing. the lady who welcomed us at the door was so nice and since I am a vet, we got in free. Everyone we came in contact with was polite, nice and friendly. The museum had some really nice art and bronze sculptures and artifacts from the early days of Texas. If you are in town, it would be worth your while to come and visit, you won't be disappointed.

Esperienza fantastica: This is a beautiful museum located in the heart of Kerrville Texas. Located near down-town Kerrville, this Western Art Museum Contains beautiful western sculptures and vivid depictions of western culture. The museum is professionally staffed by volunteers who are knowledgeable, friendly, and are more than willing to answer any questions that may come to mind. The exhibits of this museum are well maintained, well organized, and there is plenty of space so that you may take as much time as you need. Esperienza fantastica: Wonderful museum in a beautiful building. I've visited many times and the new indoor sculpture gallery is a highlight. You won't be disappointed. They also have a great staff and wonderful docents to help explain the exhibits and the history of the region.

Esperienza fantastica: Have been twice. The art was high quality and they had some famous artists as well as some regional ones too. The staff was kind and helpful. I was on my honeymoon the second time I went and they gave us free admission. The souvenir shop is neat as well. I'd recommend dropping by if you're in the area.

Esperienza fantastica: This is a wonderful art museum representing the art featuring the life of cowboys and the western ranching lifestyle. Paintings and bronzes are well displayed. The museum was originally built to feature artists of Cowboy Artists of America (CAA), but now features other western artists as well. The building itself was designed by a prominent western architect and is the perfect showcase for the art. When we were there, there was a bronze sculptor in the casita as a visiting artist who talks with visitors and explain what it is he is doing. The grounds are beautiful and the gift store has a nice selection. A treasure in the middle of Hill Country.

Esperienza negativa: Dishonest thieves. Took our admission money and forgot to tell us they removed all the art from the museum and stored it in a vault so they could have an invitation only art sale. Bait and switch, buyer beware.
