Fantastische ervaring: A must, I did all the impressionist art room and it took All the day, but it depends on you and how you want to be touched by art. Loved it, buy the tickets online before you get there to save time

Fantastische ervaring: On a visit to Philadelphia, my daughter and I decided to check out this museum. We expected to spend part of a day here, and move on to other places, but we were so entranced with the offerings of this enormous museum, we spend 2 days exploring, and still did not see the whole thing! The exhibits are incredible, and fun. There is just so much to see! The Japanese tea room was a highlight, as were the elaborately decorated period rooms. There is an entire section for armor and swords, paintings by many famous artists, and lots of unusual exhibits around every corner. There is no way to be bored here--there is something for everyone. Oh, and don't forget to visit the super-famous "Rocky" steps!

Fantastische ervaring: I went for the Mary Cassatt exhibition and it did not disappoint. After, my family and I spent several hours touring the museum. I highly recommend visiting. It’s a great way to spend a day. Cafes are open, the staff is helpful & friendly, and it’s has space enough that you can take your time viewing the artwork and not be crowded. I plan to go back. A definite must see.

Positieve ervaring: Better than I expected. It’s large, give yourself time to explore. Wish the maps were updated/label to mark which exhibits were closed because there is a bit that were. On the 1st floor a wing is closed but no signs, security guard stop us from walking down and wasting our time but there isn’t always someone there. Parking is a little expensive $20 if you are visiting the museum, must have the ticket updated to get discount. Amazing visit, the flow was nice and the must see marks were helpful.

Fantastische ervaring: I know this is an art museum but I think most people co.e here to see the rocky statue and to do the stairs. Parking wasn't horrible but might be worth taking a tour if you want to see all the Philly spots.

Fantastische ervaring: Stunning museum!! Go!! If you don’t you will be missing one of the best museums in the world. They have all the great painters Van Gogh, Degas, Monet and others. There is so much to see. Pick your favorite art and go there first then stroll the rest of the museum and enjoy the great works of other famous artists. Enjoy!

Fantastische ervaring: We recently visited Philly for work, and decided to enjoy the museum since it was warm outside and they had a Mary Cassat exhibition going on at the time. This is probably one of the finest art museums in the United States - if not beyond. Their collection is absolutely extrordinary spanning early European and Asian (think 300 BC) to more contemporary. Their Impressionist collection is outstanding. On a Friday while we were there, they were doing live jazz and offered beverage for purchase. We took our time, and over two days we spent more than eight hours exploring the galleries of this three-floor love letter to art. Go. Enjoy. Learn. Experience. It's an absolute treasure!

Fantastische ervaring: Don’t worry about parking. Park in their parking lot and have your ticket validated. Very big. Beautiful. Lots of art. Lots of variety. The customer lounge is great. They provide free coffee and water.

Positieve ervaring: A ticket allows you visit the next consecutive days, so went there for two days in a row. This museum has massive collections of art. The art is chronologically organized so well that it was easy to follow the history across different eras. Parking is available with a validation at $20 for 4 hours. You can check your coat - they did accept my 7yo daughter’s balloon pet… without judgement (balloons are not allowed in the museum), which was very thoughtful. I wish the staffs were knowledgeable although I wasn’t sure whether they were there to only protect the pieces or answer questions too.

Fantastische ervaring: We went on pay what you want day (first Sunday) and had such a good time!! We were there for more than two hours and definitely didn’t see everything. I love how they put the art in context - reconstruct rooms and churches and stuff. Makes for a very cool experience. The cafe was pretty solid and the gift shop was great!!

Positieve ervaring: If you’re here, of course he needs to run to the top of the steps like Rocky Balboa. You can also take your picture with the statue if you wait in the line to the side of the entrance for the stairs are. The stairs there are 76 flights. It took 29 steps in between the stairs. Today I did the following workout here during the nearby regatta: 25 sets of stairs: 2,625 steps up (76 steps plus 29 steps in between flights. 5,150 steps total (up and down) plus 150 pushups. I haven’t been inside the museum yet, but I’ll have to check it out next time . I wish the fountains were working.

Fantastische ervaring: This is a very large museum, I would plan on being there for 3-4 hours. There is a lot of history mixed in with the art, which was my favorite part. This is by far the best museum I have gone to. (Tickets are $30 a person)

Positieve ervaring: Loved this museum except the staff isn't very friendly. I have a deep appreciation for art and have been to numerous art museums and was never told I was not abiding by the museum rules. I respect art and was doing nothing wrong but was told twice I was too close and once to remove my cross body bag so that I wouldn't knock over a sculpture. There were no sculptures in the section I was in and most items that we not on the wall were in a case on a stand. I felt like a criminal or they had a quota to meet for scolding people. I just about left because I couldn't enjoy what I was looking at for fear someone would say I was breaking the rules. I never attempted to touch anything and my hands were behind my back both times I was asked to step back. There were other people closer than I was. It was ridiculous.

Fantastische ervaring: Easily a top art museum in the US. You could spend an entire day walking through all of the exhibits. There is always something spectacular added to the revolving collection and the permanent displays are stunning.

Fantastische ervaring: Went with friends to see the Mary Cassatt exhibit. Learned more about her life and art than I already knew! I've been to the museum before to see the Shape of Time Korean art exhibit. That was wonderful as well! Docents are helpful with information and the gift shop(s) have great selections, which are always "dangerous" for my wallet!

Fantastische ervaring: This museum is fantastic. There is so much to see. We went on a Friday evening when there is no admittance fee but you do give a donation. Offhand I don't remember what it was called but there was a music group. The only problem was the volume of it. Due to the lack of "soft" items, it was quite loud and permeated a large portion of the museum

Fantastische ervaring: The Philadelphia Museum of Art is a must see attraction in this beautiful city. Not only is it the location of the Rocky statue and stairs. But it showcases various beautiful artworks.

Fantastische ervaring: PMA is rated as a better experience than the MET in NYC by a museum aficionado who tours the globe for museums. I agree. The flow is better. What do I mean by flow? If you think of the room as cultural microcosms, the space you are leaving inevitably frames your initial response to the space you are entering. If each exhibition space is a pearl, you have a pearl necklace at the end of your museum tour. At PMA, this imaginary necklace is held together by a thread of coherence thanks to the thoughtful curation. The same cannot be said of the world renowned MET a short hop away. The north arch, opened just a few years ago and the Frank Gehry adaptation to the west Entrance, elevated the museum even more. The suffering of noise during the construction is well worth it. The period rooms are great settings for fascinating stories. Treat yourself to one of the many tours. It’s worth every penny you don’t have to pay (often included in the ticket).

Positieve ervaring: Was closed Tuesday and Wednesday. But the view outside is expansive. The city skyline is definitely worth walking all the way here for a visit, even on a hot day.

Fantastische ervaring: huge place that has a lot of different works. was a bit confusing at times because there are so many connections. but once you sort of get the hang of it, it is fine. a good collection of post impressionist. and armour collection.

Fantastische ervaring: I came with art teachers for a workshop to learn about the Gee's Bend quilts. The workshop was very insightful and gave many ways the teachers could help their students approach works of these kinds. I just loved the vibrant colors and the love and sense of community each of these showed. After the workshop, I paid an extra $5 to see an exhibit of one of my favorite artist's works - Mary Cassatt. Her works always invite me in with the children and family love displayed.

Fantastische ervaring: We went today, mainly to see the Mary cassette exhibit which I thoroughly enjoyed but also we had some dose tours. I must say the guide are excellent there. The one I enjoyed a lot was about women artist.

Fantastische ervaring: Huge array of art periods and types of items. If you want to see everything or visit all areas you will need more than one visit - it's a huge space although some of the hallways can be on the narrow side. Recommend using the entrance by the parking (I believe it's the West) unless you really like stairs. The iconic "Rocky" stairs lead up to the front entrance but it's a hike up. Great views of the city from the top.

Fantastische ervaring: First let me share this: Blue Star Museums group, which means that between Memorial Day and Labor Day, active-duty military personnel and their families can get in for free. So active duty military and veterans and their first get in free. This is great because adult tickets are $30. 18 and under get in free. This museum has some of the best displays that I have ever seen!!! They have entire replica of cloister, Japanese Tea House and Garden, Ceiling from Hall of Transforming Wisdom, Beijing, painted chamber, built in the early 1600s, was once the main reception hall in a palatial compound in the Chinese capital city of Beijing, South Indian Temple Hall, and so much more! There are also quite a few of Vincent van Gogg and Paul Cezanne and so many more. There is so much to see and I suggest you plan to visit for entire day which is still not enough time to see every exhibit. We parked at the park located in front of museum. They have a parking garage but it’s $20 for museum guest. It’s free at park if space is available. I highly recommend visiting this museum!

Fantastische ervaring: Superb in every way. Excellent massive collection of masterpieces. The best art museum I’ve visited by far. The atmosphere was perfect and the art incredible. I was impressed by the size, architecture, and scope of the building. I was about also highly impressed by the collection. Saw my first Rembrandt, first Picasos, and Diego Rivera amongst other great pieces.

Fantastische ervaring: Super awesome experience. We've been to many of the "top" art museums in the U.S., and after just 4 hours here we'd include Philadelphia near the top. We enjoyed our time and saw only about 1/3 of the museum. Plan on a day. Parking is relatively inexpensive at $20. We'll definitely be back. 5/5 high recommendation.

Fantastische ervaring: Surprisingly wonderful. First there is the Rocky nostalgia (steps). Then there is the incredible art collection. It's a must see if your in town. The Asian art exhibit is mind blowing. They even created a mini village you can walk through. The biggest names in oil paintings, furniture, silverware. Just too much to appreciate. One of the best museums I've been too (and I live in NYC). Definitely visit.

Fantastische ervaring: Great museum with an extensive offering of art to view. Clean, nice staff, and not too crowded. The Mary Cassatt exhibit was interesting, but not really my thing. I enjoyed wandering the museum and seeing what else they had to offer. Will be back!

Positieve ervaring: The collection is vast and has a lot to offer. Compared to a couple of other large museums like the Met in NYC, Louvre in Paris or National History museum in London the museum is much more difficult to follow. There is actually too much on display to make it an enjoyable experience. They should divide it much more clearly. Seeing marble statues, jewellery and paintings in the same or adjacent rooms from sometimes different time periods id a hard way to experience art in my opinion.

Fantastische ervaring: 1st Sunday pay what you like (Normally $38 for Adults). Under 18 free always. One of the better museums I have been to (I have been to many of the famous European ones). The uniqueness of this experience was the full mock ups of exhibitions for wonderful immersive experience. Best museum food I have experienced full stop. Everything cannot be seen in one day, but enough can be enjoyed in one day.

Fantastische ervaring: Excellent museum with many interesting pieces on display, my favorite genres are Impressionism and realism and they had lots of both. I tracked my walk through the museum on my smart watch and I hit a mile without even seeing everything. Align with the inside the outside and outside surroundings are also stunning with lots to see and do. And the shop had cool nick nacks. I got the book of highlights and it was a fair price. I got my tickets through the go city pass which was honored without a problem.

Fantastische ervaring: This is one of the biggest art museums I've been in the U.S. Also it's very thoughtfully planned out as there's rooms within rooms to enjoy art pieces as if you have the room to yourself. I would say you could spend a whole day here. Also I was so glad I made it to the Asia section of art - it was just breathtaking. It felt like I was in each individual country. Thank you for such a good time.

Fantastische ervaring: i love the museum, pay what you wish fridays after 5 but you have to get the tickets online. they have parking available, make sure to get your ticket validated so it costs less. they have free coat check and have drinks available to purchase. i love the huge variety that they have of different portraits and sculptures and stuff. the staff is also super nice !!

Fantastische ervaring: Amazing experience. The number of people I saw doing the Rocky Sprint was hilarious. I visited on Saturday, and there was someone playing the trumpet (Rocky anthem), which made the experience even better. Great memories, awesome place to visit.

Fantastische ervaring: A very striking building. The size and scale can only be appreciated by entering the building. Even taking rocky pictures at the top of the steps cannot substitute for stepping inside. It is unique. Whilst well signposted within Philly, not sure this place is given enough kudos in the larger tourist community. You should visit on your travels.

Positieve ervaring: $30 is expensive for entry. The organization of the museum is jumbled and lacked flow. The American art was scattered throughout, and while there was a Pollock, two Warhols, and several other great American artists, the lack of flow made it hard to appreciate. There is a great collection of circa 1900 art. I thought the Picasso and Matisse collections were quite good. There are better impressionist exhibits elsewhere - I thought the lack of some key impressionist artists was surprising considering that's what a lot of reviews highlighted? Much of the museum was under construction. The high school kids present were not well instructed in museum behavior.

Fantastische ervaring: Fun day at the museum. It was a lot different than last time 20 or 30 years ago. But then maybe I was in a different area of the museum.

Positieve ervaring: Well, I am sorry to say that we did not get to go inside to check out the museum. We had a couple hours to kill before we had to show up at the airport to fly to Atlanta so we decided to go check out the art museum. When we got there we discovered that it was closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays which is kind of unexpected. Anyway, there are quite a few things to look at outside so we parked and walked around the outside. Overall, we enjoyed seeing the stairs from the movie "Rocky".

Fantastische ervaring: Great way to spend the day. There is parking in the back and a small lot out front. The main entrance is not accessible. Nice range of exhibits that change out. The east Asian art and the shelter in place exhibit were definitely must sees.

Fantastische ervaring: Such a cultural historic building and area that it’s easy to just enjoy it from the outside and miss out on what’s inside! Highly recommend touring the building than taking a jog of the “Rocky” steps to get that incredible view and be part of cinema history. A must see in Philly!

Fantastische ervaring: This museum was beautiful. There was so much to look at that we didn't have enough time to explore everything. I would recommend setting aside an entire day or a couple days to visit the museum thoroughly. I give the museum itself and their collection 5 stars. It is worth the visit. The Rocky Balboa statue is also located here so that was a fun to see as well. Most of the staff was very friendly but some were not. We were asked by a staff member to check our umbrella at coat check while we were already almost through an exhibit but other people were walking around with the same type of umbrella and weren't asked to do so. Another staff member asked us to step away from a painting that was covered with glass and explained that we needed to stay 18 inches away but he didn't say anything to the next few people who walked up to the same painting and stood where we had been. I understand the requests however staff should be consistent and polite, and apply the requests to all visitors.

Fantastische ervaring: Really nice art museum with big variety of pieces to view. It is amazing how close you can get to most pieces and view them up close. Organization of the collections is good easy to navigate your way around the building. It was nice they had free paper maps for use. Parking was easy in the underground parking garage on the property. Enter early in the day to make sure it isnt full. If using the parking garage, make sure to get your parking ticket validated in the museum as it will lower the fee by 19 dollars. Eating and beverage options inside are good with several options. There is a small beverage cafe, a sit down restaurant and a cafeteria style large cafe that include made to order options in addition to pre-made selections. While there if the weather is nice, take some time to walk the grounds and park on the north side where you can view the Schuylkill River and the house along boat row. If you are lucky there may be a growing team or two on the river for a workout. Buy tickets online as there are entry time limits and getting tickets early will allow you to get the time you want.

Fantastische ervaring: What can be said about a place like this. Perfect example of amazing culture. I recommend starting with all the levels at the top and work your way down. There's a great armor and weapons sections that can not be missed!

Fantastische ervaring: I had bought my ticket in advance and I visited on a weekday, so I didn't have to wait at all. Unfortunately I did not have enough time to explore as much as I wanted, but this museum was breathtakingly good. Not only did they have an amazing collection, they also presented it in a very well-thought setting. Each hall had its own theme related to what was inside. I enjoyed this museum more than the MET and LACMA. Plus, their shops are not ridiculously overpriced like some other art museums.

Fantastische ervaring: Love this place. Size is perfect. Not to big, not too small, just right. It's manageable to spend a lovely day and still have time to enjoy the area or spend extra time contemplating a few of the marvelous pieces. They have something for everyone from most eras and most media. I'm a fan of European paintings and some sculpture. Come Friday night and enjoy live music as well. They're open till 8:45pm. Bathrooms on every floor. I'll definitely be back!

Fantastische ervaring: Although it was not open when I was there, there is still alot of sites to see around the property, with views of downtown, boat house row and the river. How can you pass up an opportunity to run up the steps like Rocky and be in the spot where Jason Kelce delivered his awesome Suoer Bowl speach.
