Experiência positiva: Some lovely contemporary art but pretty small. Luckily it was included in our I Amsterdam card free entry, so we didn’t have to pay. The digital art and immersive experience were very nice, as well as the sculptures in the garden.

Experiência positiva: We deden dit museum omdat het later open was dan het Rijksmuseum en Van Gogh volzet was. Er waren wel mooie dingen tussen, de collectie van Robbie Williams vond ik beter dan verwacht. De bekende, grote namen vond ik dan weer heel wat minder. Banksy & Keith Haring vond ik heel beperkt en niet hun beste werken. Klein museum, maar toch een uurtje rondgelopen. Immersive gedeelte wel leuk om wat foto's/selfies te nemen. Het was ok, maar niet speciaal een aanrader.

Experiência fantástica: We loved it: nice experience also for our 10 years old who was able to visit independently the museum following the audio guide ( there was also two interactive art works)- the shop gallery also is worthy.

Experiência negativa: Woorden als toegankelijk en inclusief gebruiken maar wel even een hele groep van rolstoel gebruikers uitsluiten?? Een schande en dat anno nu. Schaam je!

Experiência fantástica: Had such a lovely experience here! Can't believe we got to see works from so many modern greats (Banksy, KAWS, Keith Haring, Takashi Murakami, etc).

Experiência positiva: The concept of hosting modern art in a small old house, that represents the design of another time, is great. The reality of it could’ve been a little more exciting. Maybe we picked a “weaker” exhibition time but apart from a few highlights the pieces felt mainstream & more capitalistic? Combined with the high ticket prices it left us a bit unsatisfied. This concept has so much potential, so I hope other exciting artists or pieces & their artistic voices will be shown in the future.

Experiência positiva: The museum has cool exhibits and focuses on modern culture. It took us an hour to fully check everything out. The museum itself is quite small (basically in a house) and it was very hot inside. A/C only worked in one small room upstairs. We visited on Saturday at 15:30 so there was A LOT of people and it sadly was quite annoying. If you’re easily overstimulated or like more space, pick early mornings mid week. I recommend buying tickets in advance, you can pick your time slot etc. and there is a separate entrance for pre-purchased tickets. The Robbie Williams, Kaws and Murakami were my favourite but the whole museum overall is good. The FCB exhibit was a bit underwhelming as I expected a bit more. Quite pricey for the amount of exhibits, but we had a 2 for 1 discount so it was better. Wouldn’t come again though.

Experiência positiva: Practically a giant insta selfie background. A museum for people who don't know art to take selfies and post them on their social media so they look like they do know art. If you're knowledgable on art in any way moco will not offer you much. Free with iamsterdam though and the staff were nice.

Experiência positiva: Nice place but a bit too small for the entrance fee. It's a house turned into a museum but it only holds a few pieces. However, it's nice collection of some great temporary artists. I was done in 30 minutes. It's rhe best if you book van gogh way in advance and then visit this place however you like. The tickets don't sell out and it's just across the pathway within 1 minute walking.

Experiência fantástica: I love this museum. If you are a tourist and you buy the transportation card for Amsterdam you have a free entrance to many museums, I recommend to you to visit this one. Very good contemporary art works and the Robbie Williams exhibition was very good, very human.

Experiência positiva: Great for Instagramming and party talk: collection is wide but shallow. Hard to get a grip on any artist. Also quite expensive for its size although, to be fair, I don't know how museum finances work.

Experiência negativa: Gisteren kaartje gekocht met een bezoekdatum (vandaag dus). Vandaag helemaal uit Haarlem gekomen om tentoonstelling te bekijken. Bij de deur geweigerd omdat het museum gesloten is voor een event. Op de vraag hoe dat kan werd aangegeven dat het om een ‘last-minute’ event ging en ze er echt niks aan konden doen. Als pleister op de wond werd aangegeven dat we een andere keer terug konden komen en dat dat “geen probleem” was. Na onze geïrriteerde reactie werd gezegd dat we ook het geld terug konden krijgen. Belachelijke gang van zaken.

Experiência fantástica: Vandaag met vrienden bij Moco Amsterdam geweest. Twee weken geleden waren we nog in Barcelona, en jawel, zelfde artiesten, andere collecties. Ik dacht dat ik alle kunst inmiddels wel gezien had, maar niets bleek minder waar. We hebben ontzettend genoten van al het moois. Als kers op de taart werden we verrast door Aïsha, de manager van Moco. Waarmee hoor ik je denken? Een exclusief uitje naar de Pink Cloud! Mijn jeugdherinneringen aan roze jurkjes, schattige sokjes en fluffy stoffen kwamen weer helemaal tot leven. Dankzij de attente beveiliger en gastvrouw kregen we een rondleiding door de meest roze kamer die ik ooit heb gezien, compleet met een fauteuil die zo mooi is dat zelfs Barbie er jaloers op zou zijn. En dan het verhaal achter Moco Amsterdam en de oprichters Kim en Lionel, hun verfrissende kijk op kunst en hun missie om ons allemaal kunst te laten herbeleven – we waren echt onder de indruk. Het was een dag vol verwondering, lachen en genieten. Dank je wel, Moco, voor deze onvergetelijke ervaring! Aan iedereen die twijfelt: het is absoluut de moeite waard. En als ik ooit verdwijn, zoek me dan in de roze kamer – ik kom er misschien nooit meer uit, want eerlijk, wie wil dat nou niet?

Experiência fantástica: This is a museum you don’t want to miss. It had such a cool and hipster vibe. It had beautiful art, not your usual art, rather the authentic hip kind of art. They featured Robbie Williams, Banksy, Warhol and so many others. We really enjoyed this experience

Experiência fantástica: One of the best museums I've visited.✨ Fits modern art and a charming old building perfectly together somehow. Staff was very friendly. The spaces in the building are quite small, which is probably why the capacity is limited and tickets should be bought online in advance. Some additional art is also available outside when you exit so be sure not to miss those!

Experiência fantástica: Everything about my experience here with the staff to the signage was absolutely terrible. I asked 2 people where the bathroom was and they didn't even acknowledge my existence and then when I got upset and dropped an F bomb, they were kind of enough as security guards to tell me to watch my language. If you don't want to work at a museum and facilitate, then don't. Go to Amsterdam for the drugs, but skip these jerks

Experiência positiva: The price is not worth for the few pieces of art present inside. I could justify the presence of a few pieces if they would be representative of the artist’s body of work, but this was (partly) true only for Banksy. I liked very much the Robbie Williams exibition.

Experiência negativa: The collection itself is generally nice. However the space is small (and inaccessible) and was incredibly overcrowded when we went. We were not given any information, there are no free lockers and the 'audioguide' website is legitimately one of the worst experiences I've had with a museum. Added one star for the immersive exhibits in the basement but overall I do not think the experience justifies the price tag.

Experiência positiva: Nothing I love more than a couple hours in a good museum especially contemporary. It really makes you think and all the artists I love. Sadly it fell short, works were limited for the price paid. Not only that have your phone charged and ready you need it for the audio. Plus it was confusing the numbering of the floors and coordination of the narration. I felt out on my own to flounder like that balloon in the picture. So many other places I could have spent that time and money.

Experiência positiva: Not overly impressive and much smaller than expected. We finished in 20 minutes. I had hoped for more for the price and the good reviews. Also not suitable for people with disabilities as there are only stairs and no elevator. Nevertheless, the works and the atmosphere were beautiful.

Experiência positiva: A different museum, quite curious. They have a small interactive part, and almost everything is a museum with modern art. Banksy's part is pretty good. They have a garden with other works that you can climb and take photos. I expected less, but I liked it.

Experiência positiva: We went there on a Wednesday at 1pm so it was not too crowded but still a bit for the size of the museum. It was surprising to see that the museum was this nice little castle house ! I have to admit that the funniest part (for me) was the 'immersive' one, it was really beautiful and captivating. However, I feel like the whole museum in itself felt like it was a bit short to see, we did not spend a lot of time in there ( ~50 min) but it's not dramatic at least you don't have the time to get bored. It was still a really nice activity to do, I definitely recommend ⭐.

There are some famous contemporary pieces here but also some that are of average quality that didn’t give me the impression of being authentic, maybe a bit too POP to be really interesting … but anyways, City Card for free entry. Also, the light installation had only one room that looked quite cool, the others were sort of a surplus for the quantity not quality

Experiência positiva: Prachtige kunst alleen was alles in het engels. Ook de bordjes naast de kunstwerken. Dat vond ik persoonlijk jammer. Want mijn engelsewoordenschat schoot dikwijls te kort.

Experiência negativa: Véél en véél te druk ondanks dat wij een ticket met tijdslot hadden. Doordat het museum best kleine ruimtes heeft, zijn die snel vol en kun je de werken niet (goed) zien. Daarom niet aan te raden en al helemaal niet het geld waard.

Experiência positiva: Het museum is helaas erg klein en met € 25,- veel te duur. De kunst was behoorlijk cool, maar sommige installaties waren ook niet bijzonder geweldig. Wij waren hier op een maandag in april en het was nog relatief vol.

Experiência positiva: If you like contemporary art visit the Moco museum. One place to watch and experience some of the main icon artists pop, graffiti, painting, sculpture, experimental. The exposure of Marina Abramovich is too tiny, would have love to see a bit more of her work. The Robbie Williams expo. it’s really cool!

Experiência negativa: Wat een fiasco bij het Moco Museum. Ik dacht dat de tentoonstelling van Marina Abromovic hier was. Het Moco museum adverteert op hun website met een video en bij het bezoek kwam ik erachter dat ze slechts 1 stuk laten zien wat je ook op de website ziet. De tentoonstelling van Abromic is nl. in het stedelijk museum. Geprobeerd aan de ingang om de kaartjes te ruilen ivm misleiding en kreeg nul op request. Ik betaalde voor 4 personen Moco meer dan 80 euro en voor het Stedelijk waar ik wilde zijn slechts rond de 40 euro met ook 4 personen. Kinderen zijn gratis. Ik vraag mij af wat de reclame code commissie van zulke praktijken zegt.

Experiência fantástica: Edit: Updating my review - I visited the museum for the second time in March 2024 for the Robbie Williams exhibition. Didn’t expect much from it, but the exhibition was SO GOOD and I wish they had sold a book to accompany the exhibition. Would’ve bought it definitely! Since we were already there, decided to check out the permanent exhibitions as well - there were some new exhibits, one of them was a statue by Mugler (if I’m not mistaken) and I noticed the descriptions which I had found annoying two years ago were gone - they are better written now to sound more positive and upbeat, which of course for me is a wonderful. Just noticed the museum had replied to the original review - thanks for the response and I’ve updated the earlier 3-star rating to 5 stars based on my most recent experience. Previous review: Visited July 2022 after visiting Rijksmuseum. Didn’t think Moco was worth it much. There weren’t many art displays from the artists and I thought the some of descriptions were frankly, quite pathetic because they sound like they were written by a child who wants to blame their problems to every one else. Compare that to the art exhibitions at Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh - sure, you can view all the artworks online but you get a different experience when you see it face to face. You can see the brushstrokes and artistic imagery behind it, plus the stories behind the displays were interesting and gives you more insight on the particular era. Moco Museum was missing that - hey there’s the famous Banksy painting but when you see it face to face, it feels just like what you see in the monitor - just a viral sensation with no lasting impact. Oh, but the rooms with diamonds and mirrors were nice. But that’s about it.

Het is er veel te druk en warm. Je ruikt de toiletten op de bovenverdieping . Alles bij elkaar kan je niet op je gemak opnemen waar je naar kijkt. Kijk lekker thuis op de bank tiktok video's betere ervaring dan the real deal.

Experiência fantástica: I love love looooove the collection here. It’s all contemporary. Really well known pieces and artists for the modern fan of art. There’s a lot to see, plus it held Robbie William’s art exhibition which was surprisingly nice and quirky. It holds pieces from Banksy, Damien Hirst, Andy Warhol, Basquiat, Kaws, Takashi Murakami and Yayoi Kusama to name a few. Really impressive stuff, honestly. In the end there was a really nice installation with lights and mirrors. Tickets were pricey, but we left feeling really impressed and happy we’ve been there. So worth a visit!

Experiência positiva: Sunday afternoon. Couple of nice pieces there but nightmare to enjoy time there due to crowded spaces. On the website there are time slots to be chosen but apparently you can get in at any time - as we did Good for us, but viewing art was super exhausting and I was as checking their museum tour map to see how much till end so we can finish. Inside was stuffy and super hot. Clock room 1€ per item.

Experiência fantástica: It's a nice little museum with some interesting pieces. A mix of pictures, sculptures, and digital pieces. Make sure to download the app when you're walking around outside of the museum. It's also not far from the tram, which makes it easy to get to. Plenty of museums and art galleries in the area.

Experiência positiva: The building was too small. There were so many people and Europeans don’t wear deodorant so I could not really enjoy the art. The exhibit was great but there was not enough space, way too crowded.

Experiência fantástica: A good collection to browse through at your own pace understanding the context of the work - what series of events inspired a creation! The immersive experience in the basement collection is also interesting. Make sure to have the app to get the full experience. Location is easy to find in the museum ally of Amsterdam - for DC folks, it's the National Mall equivalent. I felt like I am back home. ☺️

Experiência positiva: A fun, modern art Museum. I visited here recently on my travels to Amsterdam (April 2024). My hotel had a discount code so I was able to get 10% off my ticket online. The Museum is inside a large old style house and upon arrival you go enter through a black curtain - bit peek-a-boo ish lol Although the house is big, the Museum itself is small. The main entry level is based on Robbie Williams with quotes/pictures on the walls. The two upper levels have sculptures/modern art pieces which are quirky. My favourite parts were the basement level with the interactive sections with the Diamond lights/Kaleidoscope/Bubbles rooms as well as the circle mirrors in the hallway. Great fun for taking pictures . The gift shop is very pricey. Only worth it if you like buying books/art pieces that come with a hefty price tag. Outside is very cool with more sculptures. I spent an 1 hour here. How long you spend is at your own disposal. I enjoyed myself but felt it was a bit expensive for what it was even with the discount but that's just my opinion. It's fun to check out new places. If you like modern art/sculptures then check out the MOCO Museum.

Experiência fantástica: Mooie combinatie van exposities. Moderne kunst van diverse artiesten. Moco zelf is ook een mooie locatie. Niet de standaard Museum uitstraling. Banksy stukken waren mijn favourite. Echt een aanrader om een keer te bezoeken. Robbie Williams expositie was ook erg interessant. Zijn verhaal over een lastige periode in beeld gebracht met kunst. In een soort knipoog.

Experiência negativa: afgelopen weekend bezoek gebracht. giga druk en veel te druk binnen. kreeg niet het idee dat men daar mee zat geen de reactie op onze opmerking dat het wel heel druk was binnen. Eerlijk gezegd teleurstellend gezien ook het aanbod.

Experiência fantástica: Nice modern art museum with some really interesting and funky exhibits (Robbie Williams, Damien Hirst, Banksy, Warhol etc). The museum is housed in an older building so it’s quite cramped in places. Try to book tickets in advance online at a quieter time if you can!

Experiência negativa: Worst experience ever, they stuffed crazy amount of people in the museum, it was absolutely impossible to move around not even to enjoy art. Garderobe was closed because it was overcrowded, so I had to carry my crazy heavy backpack. Unbelievable really

Experiência fantástica: Brilliant exhibition, location is very accurate and detailled. I loved the way the art was displayed, friendly staff and always available to help. It's like walking in a fantasy world downstairs. I went to see Robbie Williams exhibition and really loved it, was thrilled.

Experiência negativa: As a visitor, make sure that you are aware of the art that you are going to see here and that you are interested in it. First of all, there are very few pieces of art in total, you can see them all in 15 minutes. Secondly, we found many of them unimpressive. Art is subjective, but some of the stuff here is why some people make fun of contemporary art (think "duct tape banana"). Thirdly and most importantly, if was very crowded, so much that it was anxiety inducing. They just let too many people in, and I can't find any justification for this except greed. Lastly, at 25 euros, it is pricy and all things considered, I don't believe that it's worthy at all. It was the worst museum experience ever for me.

Experiência positiva: Die Räume waren leider zu klein und das Museum sehr überfüllt, alle Besucher hatten ihre Jacken an, was sehr ungemütlich war. Man konnte sich nur mit Mühe auf die Kunst konzentrieren. Vieles empfand ich als banal, aber dennoch gab es einige positive Überraschungen. (z.B. Basquiat) und wenn man das Museum verlässt gibt es noch ein paar sagenhafte Räume.

Experiência positiva: Interesting museum if you are into modern art. It is small, so maybe it is not that worth the money if you consider that Van Gogh's museum costs the same, however you can visit it in 1 hour or so. Again it depends on your preferences.

Experiência positiva: Mooi museum, toffe collectie. Wel erg krappe doorgangen, dat merk je zeker als het zoals dit weekend redelijk druk is. En dan loop je toch ook iets sneller door dan als er meer ruimte is. Dan valt ook op dat het niet heel groot is en redelijk aan de prijs voor de tijd die we er doorbrachten. Aan de andere kant, van aantal kunstenaars voor het eerst in het echt dingen gezien. En ik vond de objecten/spiegelpaleis in de kelder echt heel tof. Al met al kom ik graag nog eens terug. Maar dan een keertje door de week denk ik.

Experiência fantástica: Very intriguing small museum, and building, with small sections dedicated to different artists. Free audio guide in many languages allows you to follow along with a small introduction. Little gem amongst the other big rendez vous in the Museum quarter!

Experiência fantástica: I know there are some reviews that are saying the museum is a waste but it just means they’re not into this type of art there were pieces that I liked and pieces that I didn’t be we are the ones the give meaning to the pieces. I loved seeing banksy pieces, Andy Warhol and marina abromovic pieces. The museum was small but it’s also understood by the size of the building and the specialties shown. They let you know which artists are in display there’s no scam or surprise. I really liked it and I loved the gift shop too and all of the things to do on the outside including the giant rocking horse. The only one I didn’t like was the little kid paintings art from the guy from New York - please replace that. Everything else was cool! Maybe less people at once as well. Experiência positiva: The art is pretty cool and the staff were nice but the visit can be quite short, overcrowded and very warm. Unfortunately, the building is not accessible for low mobility peeps (this is in their FAQ). Leaving the museum was a bit awkward too, we left our coats at the entrance (cloakroom), so keep in mind if you're leaving your coats you'll have to go back to the entrance to get them back (Pro tip: get them before heading down to the gift shop ). If you really, really, reeeeally love modern contemporary art, go for it! Hajime Sorayama's Sexy Robot Floating was incredible to witness in person.

Experiência positiva: Great museum in the aspect that there is a lot of interesting artwork (especially Banksy) and a picture-worthy immersive experience. The only downfall is that the building is very cramped and the Robbie Williams exhibition is laughable, also quite pricey

Experiência negativa: The art displayed here was definitely not my taste— felt that it was all very… superficial? I’m not a snob at all— just was not a fan. Regardless, even if I had enjoyed this genre, the line was super long and building super crowded. It is very small and I speed ran through the place in <30 minutes. I didn’t pay for my ticket, but if I had, I would have been more upset.

Experiência fantástica: Great little museum, awesome location and building and a good selection of paintings/works from modern/contemporary artists. It was very fun walking around the different floors and exploring every room. The rooms are usually dedicated to a specific artist and walking around kind of feels more comfortable and personal than a typical museum, as Moco seems to have kept the original layout of the house it's located in.

Experiência fantástica: Went there without buying tickets but on the day we went only online tickets were available and their online ticket system was extremely efficient because you were able to pick a time for every 15 minutes so I picked the closest time and only waited in line for that time to came. The museum itself is great one of my favorite museums for sure. If you are interested in modern art there are very interesting pieces of artworks. It’s not that big so it took me approximately 50 minutes to went through everything. It’s definitely worth going to if you are in Amsterdam.

Experiência positiva: Mijn tweede keer Moco Museum. Toffe collectie en een gaaf gebouw. Fijn dat je met een museumkaart korting kunt krijgen. De collectie van Robbie Williams was heel gaaf. Toffe kunstwerken met een leuk gevoel voor humor. Waar je rekening mee moet houden, is dat er veel bezoekers zijn in dit museum. Als je makkelijk overprikkeld bent, zou ik een tijdslot uitkiezen aan het begin van de dag. Wij waren er om 13u en het was behoorlijk druk. Kostte mij persoonlijk veel energie en had liever een ander tijdslot gehad. Persoonlijk vind ik de volledige prijs ook redelijk fors voor de hoeveelheid kunstwerken die er te zien zijn + er is geen garderobe. Maar los daarvan is het absoluut een tof museum met een leuke collectie.

Experiência negativa: Moco is een versleten museum zonder respect voor hun kunstenaars. Grote namen hangen naast wc’s, vinger vlekken en viezigheid overal over de digital art constructie, zodanig commercieel dat het veelste druk was door het gehele pand. Het personeelstekort kon de drukte overduidelijk niet aan want in de 30 minuten dat we binnen waren, hadden we 5 toeristen van een kunstwerk af moeten trekken die nonchalant hun rugzak tegen het doek aan schuurden.

Experiência negativa: Small, expensive and largely disappointing. Nice Warhol and a good Banksy but when you devote a whole wall to one lame neon sign because it's by Tracy Emmin instead of actually £45 from AliExpress then you know you're dredging the bottom.
