I truly understand the reason behind it, but common it's too annoyed to even enjoy the rest of the exhibit.

The display of the student's work upstairs was a nice touch. Lovely lunch spot on the grounds. And you can't beat the view. Wasn't sure I was going to stop while visiting the area, glad I did!

Experiência positiva: The museum has a beautiful location on the bay. It's a very nice building with kind workers. The museum was smaller than I thought it would be...you can make it through in an hour or so, and the "photography is art" exhibit was a little underwhelming, in my opinion. However, like most arts, it's subjective and you may love it. That said, the permanent exhibits were beautiful...I especially liked the Spanish/Texan/Mexican art area and the sculptures. Upstairs they had work from local school children and some are very talented. It was fun to see what the local kids can do too!

Experiência positiva: Nice building and location, near the aircraft carrier Lexington and the harbor bridge. Also close to the aquarium and the science museum. This museum is photography centric but has some painting, mixed media, and sculptures as well. Here is currently a display of high school students' art. There is a cafe onsite with views of the bay. Admission is $10 and $8 for seniors. We spent about an hour there.

Experiência fantástica: Those of you who are art lovers should not miss this. I actually found it to be a perfect indoor activity during rainy days. The admission fee is 10$ and you can purchase groupon coupons for a reduced price. Every first Friday of the month, there is free admission to the museum. Enjoy this wonderful walk through the history and art of the past!

Experiência positiva: Simple and serene with a fashionable restaurant and great views of the harbor. The dual entrances are a bit confusing. Some better signage would be helpful. Plenty of parking on both sides of the museum. Community friendly with lots of showcases and complimentary days.

Experiência positiva: A friend of mine and I visited the Christmas tree display.. they're quite cute. A lot of them were made by younger children, but they all appear to have been made by school children. As we left we asked how do we vote and the person at the front counter wasn't sure.

Experiência positiva: Visited the museum on a few occasions and it was always a good experience. The staff are nice and there have been several nice pieces displayed here. It’s also a great place to host events. There are at least three parking lots nearby you can use, which makes it very convenient for visitors, especially on busier days.

We also surprised to have bonus of free entry, but have a feeling that may only have been case for September - not sure, so worth checking

Experiência positiva: The art that was presented was awesome! I am disappointed that the literal whole other art building was closed. Due to some a/c issue. Which should’ve been mentioned, because it makes it a short little walk through. Couldn’t even see everything due to the other building being closed.

Experiência fantástica: The glass art was so beautiful, you can really tell the skill of the artists due to the intricate designs of the glass sculptures. I also really just loved the paintings. I forgot how wonderful art could be, but this museum reminded me why I love creating.

We saw the "Cheech" latin American art exhibit and the blown glass art had amazing detail. The only downside was the other building was under renovation so there were no exhibits up at the time. Experiência fantástica: Beautiful collections! It's definitely worth checking out. We were visiting Corpus from out of town but I think it's something locals would even enjoy for an afternoon.

Experiência negativa: Half of the exhibits have no information - artist, medium, etc all missing. Feels disrespectful to the artists. Dehumidifiers everywhere with full buckets, also not respecting the art. One painting (also no info) completely crooked. Place just doesn't feel like a legit museum that cares about the collection. Maybe I was expecting too much having gone to art museums in other cities, but this place feels very unprofessional and it was honestly a waste of time.

Experiência positiva: EPIC! They let us in free and 30 minutes before closing there is no one there so its basically your own museum. Most pieces arts are paintings and relatively new. The place is very well kept and spacious so it feels nice to walk around in.

Experiência negativa: The art was cool. The way my children were spoken to upon entrance was unsettling. The beautiful Cafe was open ... the doors were open. The designers card was available but it was not actually open for service. I gracefully finished my Coca Cola while being vetted by the lovely young woman in the gift shop about my options for discarding my beverage. My handsome partner commented that he felt like we just got booked for county jail and I responded yes, no wonder this place is packed. It was not fun.

Experiência positiva: It was in the middle of resetting most of the displays so there wasn't much to see. The lady was more than nice about it and explained it. She even gave us a discount. We'll try again next year.

Experiência positiva: Edit: Updated to four stars for receiving a response, and clarified some details. It's okay. Nice building and friendly staff, but the art is... meh. I guess that's subjective though. For free entry until the end of 2022, it's worth it. Not really worth the typical cost otherwise. The restaurant is amazing though, great views and good food. It's only open for a few hours, however. Got some snotty looks from other visitors for, I assume, being in T-shirt and jeans.

Experiência positiva: ARMST is a fun place to visit. It’s sits on the bay. Good view of passing ships from the restaurant which serves alcohol if you want it. Food is pricey and meager. The exhibitions of art are always interesting. Wish they’d change them more often. They’re closed on Monday. Head toward the playhouse and go left to find the parking lot. Enjoy! ‍♂️

The homeless camp down by the water needs to be cleaned up by city and disinfected the smell is horrible! It’s not the museum problem but it’s by the entrance below the temporary metal ramp! This should not be a place where people are living

Experiência fantástica: The museum is free, maybe on every third Thursday. We are members so that doesn’t really matter to us. This is a beautiful building. It has a great restaurant in it. The restaurant has wonderful views of the port. The art was interesting. We love to go down there every so often.

Experiência fantástica: I visited with my 3 girls. Be sure to check what is on display if you have squeemish kiddos. The time we went, art by a set of Hispanic brothers was being showcased and some of the pieces were graphic for my daughter's taste. Nothing to give them nightmares. It was a fun educational experience I love art! The museum is very nice and the staff are friendly.

Experiência positiva: The Art Museum of South Texas was a very enjoyable experience! My only suggestion is that when using the map there are certain galleries that appear to have names, but unfortunately in the museum itself a lot of those galleries were not clearly labeled which made navigating with the map confusing at first. Once I got my bearings I was able to discern where I was and was a bit underwhelmed by several galleries that were empty and a lot of art work was covered with plastic for protection against window dusting. Either way, the museum was enjoyable and presented some very thought invoking pieces of art. The art by the kids was probably amongst the best displays. A lot of future talent on the horizon! Once they finish cleaning up and fill the empty galleries I would love to revisit.

Experiência positiva: Our family very much enjoyed the museum. The inflatables exhibit was fun to see. We didn't realize there was an on-site restaurant so we didn't eat there but the view from the restaurant was nice. The museum was undergoing some renovations, so part of the 2nd floor exhibits were closed. The lower level with the hands-on exhibits was also closed during our visit for spring break camps. We will go back another time to see those (and plan for lunch at the restaurant).

Experiência fantástica: This is our second trip back and it is always a good stop. They were showing school art from he area that is well worth a visit. They have a nice gift shop for those that want more information about art and supplies for kids and adults. Pictures are of blow ups from artists from the US and one from Canada.

Went on the first Friday of the month & didn’t pay to enter! Had so much fun & really enjoyed all of the rooms, especially the Native American tributes. Even got to sit outside and see the Lexington & Texas State Aquarian + saw some dolphins swimming (ALL FOR FREE!)
